Wow, so gray and depressing...you really captured the spirit exceptionally well. I take it a lot of that is custom made by you? You should consider releasing it...4.gif

Awesome start to the new cj glenni. I love the rural areas there the little sqaure in the village is awesome lotting there with the buildings

Will

EDIT: After seeing what has happened over at s4devotion I'll just say sorry about their childish reaction to this cj. Anything can be interpreted as offensive and with this cj you have to give some context so that the pictures mean something to the viewer otherwise it would just be a load of pictures

What a wonderful cj! I love the realistic feel to it and the small glancing touch of history. I hope everyone can appreciate a work such as this.

This is a wonderful CJ. It's a shame certain people don't appreciate the depth, back story and excellent storyline. Do keep it up.

Now time for a official statement of Joseph, Justin, "TheGunkid" Williamson, this is a personal statement, meant only for my feelings on this matter.

This following is a statement only from me.

Gleen, Burro, and/or any other third party are not related to this statement,

if you are offended by any of the following, please PM me.

So, over the pass two days it been a little too politically correct over on the "Other Site", I think "Jinorej" really needs to get a hold of his self, he's taking rules a bit far, I think he's a bit power crazy.

I find it sad that he locks a CJ that's simply based in a Real world country, and is based on nothing but the stereotypical Communist country, over one person mild offense to it being based in a country which he only lived in for 7 years, i'm not saying that he was in the wrong, i'm just saying that Jinorej over reacted for one person's reply,  by locking the MD, AND baning Glenn from Posting in the MD section.

And if "Jinorej" sees this, all i have to say is this Please see site rules on posting in languages other than English.  i.e. don't do it.  3.gif  ~Zel~

That's for disrespecting Glenn, and Me, and our rights to freedom of speech and expression.

I respect Burro's decision to Boycott Dedicación de la Sim-Ciudad cuatro", and not support the site's policy on posting, and it's injustices for some members.

Well, its alienated me... SC4D is a great place but i'd rather not post if it was going to be offensive to some. I'm not cutting down my CJ in order to be polictially correct... I know their not asking that but thats what I feel it may come too given if somebody becomes offended.

Hey Glenni, a firend linked me to your CJ and the drama over at SC4D. I have to say that the whole thing is completely over the top. It seems to me that on reading the "mod comments" about the reason your CJ was banned, was because your historical narrative was not pro-American, or Western-Centric. Your narrative therfore, is "offensive", because its content is not agreeable or comfortable with those in power.

Unfortunately, for them, they fail to grasp that it's a CJ, not a wikipedia entry and that the views expressed in your CJ are merely one side of the picture. Somehow I feel that if someone bashed the USSR along a similar narrative, that would be acceptable.

As always, you're welcome to post your CJ at the SCJU. It's a shame other sites don't respect that freedom of speech doesn't equate to agreeing with a westernised standpoint.

Shame, but at least I can enjoy CJ here.

Best Regards

Sixu.

This is the real point.  There's always someone who will find offense in anything you do.  What has been lost is the distinction between what is offensive to the majority and an individual taking personal offense.  It is the essence of political correctness.

Action needed to be taken over Glenni's thread, but it needed to be taken against those that tried to politicise it - not Glenni, who was just telling a story.

6underground - Not to turn this CJ into a debate (again), but I agree it was blown out of proportion. Patrick (Pnorrell) was simply making an observation, and although he was a little offended, he didn't wish for it to come do to this (I had a look on SC4D to see if Glenni's MD was still there... as it turned out, its been deleted) and apologised. I apologised in return since I don't want this to seem as if it was his fault, I mean, its natural to become offended at such a sensitive topic, especially when it holds such close ties to someones past.

Of course, we hope that this small issue will blow over soon if it hasn't already.

As Patrick said to me in a PM, the admins were acting in the best interests of sensitivity... -

Today Pridnestrovie, tomorrow it could be Srebrenica, or Darfur, or the Gaza Strip, or a recreation of Auschwitz, or Al Qaeda-controlled Al Anbar province in Iraq or County Armagh during the troubles

And I agree... in the name of sensitivity please keep controversy to a minimum, but don't supress it... the world is harsh and its best that these realities come to light. Offence may be a by-product but it brings back to you that people had to live through the thing you are portraying and naturally, initially knowing that, makes you tread carefully along the thin line of what is acceptable and what isn't.

Now, back to your usual programming 3.gif

Just noticed that and really did laugh out loud. 17.gif Glenni this is an over-the-top awesome, realistic, stunning CJ. You've done great work on it.

Also, sorry about the BS that went down at SC4D. I say screw em, they think they're the law for some reason. They'll even try to call the police on you if you do something like make an alt account. 6.gif

Keep it up Glenn!

Worst yet, he can't even update Vandals Fjellas anymore on SC4D, which is the biggest injustice of all. 7.gif

Hey, Folks.

You know what might be a really novel idea?

How about we enjoy this wonderfu CJ that Glenni is so nice to share with us and stop griping about something that occurred on a different site which we can't change or do anything about anyway?

What do you think?  Sounds like it would work to me.

<< INSERT HEAVY SARCASM AND STERN WARNING HERE...  >>

By the way, Glenni, I am certainly enjoying what you'r producing.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Regards,

Gary (Vandy)

Sorry about what happed to your MD at SC4D. I think that it is better suited for over here in Simtropolis though. Because for a while things at SC4D had been dealt with too much..And like a cut , if it's messed with too much , Then it becomes infected...

I love the pasty factory's name . Tis funneh..

Greetings!

First, allow me to say in my capacity of CJ fan, that I do enjoy this CJ very much.  It's unique and the pictures... well, I don't know how much of them are photoshopped and how much are actual BATs and whatnot, but they're damn good.  9.gif

ISF

Now, in my capacity of CJ moderator:

I am not privy to, nor am I particularly interested in, the goings on between this CJ and SC4D. In the end, it's irrelevant anyway.  This CJ does not violate any rules that the staff can see here on Simtropolis, so it will of course be allowed to stay.  I mean really, we have countless CJ's on here already that deal with a wide variety of alternate history.

However, Simtropolis rules do stipulate that issues pertaining to other sites are not permitted to be discussed here.  We do have a Community Goings-On section in the forums for such discussions to take place, so long as no flame wars or whatnot break out.  The CJ forum is not the correct place to do this.

From now on, I request that all of you please refrain from bringing up SC4D or any other non-ST site related items in this CJ.  Of course you are more than free to talk to your hearts' content via other forms of media, just not in this CJ.  Further comments related to SC4D will be edited and/or deleted immediately and without explanation.

*Thank you @ mods*

Glenni: Purely excellent work. Those Flats make me sooooooo jealous, in fact, that whole 2 updates of commie goodness is making me me drool. Did I mention this is excellent? I securely admire your work and this CJ and wish you good luck if it is to continue and best wishes with other... public relations issues.

Well this CJ moderator is impressed...

I'm sorry... but you would need to be a complete [insert stuff we are not allowed to talk about] not to like that pastry factory.  I do hope they taste better than the name... though.  31.gif
