I really love your BATs! I use them in my regions quite often! (Not my CJ of course, because that is Mediterranean themed) But they are very detailed and the nightlights are fantastic!

Best of Luck BATing, I could never quite get it....

Your latest release is really good.

Only one request by the way, please, shrink you "WaishoDan" building a bit up to normal size.

Wow, everythings looks nice! I would like to see the roof junk and the completed model. I'm still trying to figure gmax out so you are pretty far ahead of me, I hope to make buildings as nice as yours.

    Thank you very much.

Okay, I have done a bit more on HKK civic center, I'll show a render soon, and I also have began making DHL Center, a building in Singapore.

The central pillar is actually a + in shape. Also you may want to make the windows look less square and more rectangle in shape, and there seems to be a gap in the columns of windows. Good start though! As far as rendering goes, gmax is horribly long... You may want to switch to Bat4Max as soon as possible.

Osaka101, I took your advice, I elevated the towers a bit more. Also, I fixed the support tower in the middle, Bixel, so let's take a look:

    scs_renderprevfinal.jpg

So.... I think I'm done, what more should I add?

I'd say you are far, far from done. You got a nice start for sure, and I'm convinced that you have enough talent to pull this off, but at this time the building is far from finished.

In fact, some very basic things are missing so far:

    • The basic proportions look wrong; the architectural render makes the building look very thin and tall whereas your BAT looks thick and squashed.
    • Likewise, and as Bix already pointed out, the windows are rectangles on the architectural render, whereas on your BAT they are squares.
    • Your model lacks the structural detail between the windows.
    • On the render, I can see that the four main blocks are not the same size; I count 19, 21, and 23 storeys - the one that's hidden on the pic can't be counted. Your model has 20 storeys on all parts.
    • The position of the four main parts relative to the central pillar looks all wrong; the architectural render seems to indicate irregular differences between roof and floor heights, and also a different sequence of parts from highest to lowest.
    • The render clearly shows a base - your model doesn't have one.
I think you're pretty good at the BAT, but you don't observe closely enough, and you are far too quick to get your BATs 'out of the way' and onto the STEX. Take more time to look at your reference, do basic stuff like counting windows and figuring out the fundamental characteristics of each part. Is it square or rectangular? If it is a rectangle, are the vertical or the horizontal lines longer? Do similar parts actually share identical characteristics, or do they differ? If so, in what way? What are the surfaces like? Are they totally flat, or do they have a structure?

Once you have these basics sorted out, I reckon it's a good idea to make a basic model to get the fundamental characteristics right. That's also a good opportunity to make a test-render and compare size, scale and proportions against other buildings in game.

As soon as that's sorted out, you can start detailing and texturing.

Sorry if the above sounds harsh in places, but I just had to mention it to point out where I see room for improvement and to help you to get better. It is not meant to bash, attack, or discourage you. You are doing a fine job, but I feel you have more potential than you are showing. 2.gif

I am back to making some midrises, so here's what I've done. A fictional office midrise called Ting Yu Tower. I know, I know, there is still a lot more work to be done on it, but right now I'm really not sure what more to do. If anyone has any ideas then please tell me! Thanks:
