Bixel's San Francisco BATS

I will prolly start doing some San Francisco BATs. 1st up is the Chevron Tower - I am currently rendering a test model now. I will get some ingame pics ASAP.

Q: Does this mean you wont do HK BATs???

A: NOPE, my 1st love is HK architecture so I will still work on those..

Q: Does this mean you will take requests of SF buildings?

A: NOPE, cause I am busy and who knows what I will be working on next...

San Francisco has a lot of really nice Art Deco buildings.  Some of my favorite buildings from the game were modeled after some buildings in San Fransisco too.

If this is the building you're making, I like it's base.  Not sure about those windows though, lol.

Most of the more modern DT SF buildings shouldn't be too hard, mostly boxes but the new ones.. One Rincon *hint hint*

Well, as you can see - need to fix those windows, I didnt size them or space them correctly somehow. Also I am modelling more of the base.

I think I am going to pursuade Simfox on handling that Tru-night he does, after I fix those windows.

I love that building. The problem with the design of the building is that it leans inward very slightly, making it look skinnier and taller than it is. Your model is pretty good compared to the building itself. A good test would be to place it next to the transamerica pyramid on SC4 and compare it to a photo.

Looking good, although the lighting doesn't look quite right to me. there seems to be a little too much ambient lighting (and shadows) and too lit direct sun.
