What can I say... Great use of lots and PhotoShop... Delightful vistas, and now I learn you're of Polish descent 9.gif

I've only got one question - how long are the Rebajas at Corte Ingles going to last? 9.gif

I love your work capturing the Mediterranean style of architecture and city planning. Your city looks very realistic. I'll be sure to come back for more!

I'm getting tired of Northern San Pedro. Therefore I have decided to head south!

    Sinarcas-Dec5011222575251copy.jpg

Sinarcas is one of the larger cities in "El Reino Sur", the southern half of San Pedro.

The region gets it name from when San Pedro was multiple kingdoms, in the aftermath of the fall of the Roman Empire. In the north was a European group of kingdoms (which later united with Carife) and a Moorish kingdom in the south.  During the Reconquista the Northern Kingdom invaded the South and kicked out the Moors. Many of the buildings were destroyed but the towns often kept the old moorish streetplan.

Sinarcas (named "Al Sinarqa" by the Moors) became one of the main cities in the south of San Pedro. Today the city is popular with tourists because of the sunny weather and proximity to the coast.

    Sinarcas-Oct21011222574937copy.jpg

The main square of the city is located in front of the cathedral in the center of the old town. There is a statue of the Angel Gabriel and an 3-arch monument which commemorates the reconquering of Southern San Pedro.

    Sinarcas-Mar8021222575416copy.jpg

    Another view of the square.

    Sinarcas-Dec5011222575313copy.jpg

The old town has a very confusing moorish streetplan, most of which is pedestrian because the streets are too small for cars.

    Sinarcas-Oct9041222577159copy.jpg

Outside of the city are many farms and orchards. Most of the farms grow oranges and olives. Lavender and agave are also grown here.

Also I've been playing Age of Empires 3, so I may use the game for a future update 3.gif

Heading south is always a lovely idea.  The main square with the angel statue is very pretty.  I love all the colorful BATs you use although i've probably said that before sorry.  Hahaha confusing street plan!  All my cities are like that...Eh... I adore the farms, so bright and detailed!  My favorite is the last pic, except the blurring, sorry!  Without it I think the pic would be perfect, but that's just me.  Great work!

I changed the font for the titles. It's called "Al Andalus" which I think fits this CJ perfectly. 9.gif

BlondeTwiggy: Thanks for the comments! I may have overdone it on the blur tool 3.gif

Mexicanboy13r: Long time no see, I remember you recreated the San Francisco Bay Area (I believe)

Mike the Mayor: Yup, every town has a unique main square to it. Glad you liked it.

    Twenty20: Merci

    Hola again!

Sorry for the little hiatus on this CJ. I've been busy.

I think it's about time I show the 3rd largest city in San Pedro.

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223515706copy.jpg

Guadalquivir is the "capital" of Southern San Pedro, and contains tons of historical monuments and landmarks.

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223431691copy.jpg

First off is the Plaza Mayor, which is the center of the city. Around the plaza is La Catedral, the Cathedral Bell Tower (don't point and laugh, It's an older BAT of mine 3.gif), Alcazar Real and the Convent of Santa Maria.

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223431761copy.jpg

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223431746copy.jpg

Both buildings were formerly moorish and were converted to other uses after the area was reconquered.

Once you leave the main square you get pleasantly trapped between tiny streets and alleys filled with balconies.

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223431723copy.jpg

There are also several canals that lead from the main Andalus river, many of which were used by merchants back in San Pedro's trading heyday.

    Guadalquivir-Feb16111223431703copy.jpg

While some of the canals are smaller, some are large enough to fit tour boats and even private boats. The houses around the canals are often much more expensive than in the center of the city. However most of them are not for sale, the old center is where mostly older people live. Younger people live in the suburbs outside of the city with their families.

Thanks for showing us Guadalaquivir. The buildings are beautiful, but the name is quite a mouthful!

Gah.... gone for a little with school and I miss an update...

Really loving the look as a whole, but I have to agree with Blondetwiggy, blur is bad. Luckly, you fixed that with the second update and the pictures now just look....

    Well, stunning.

    Looking forward to more!

Sanlucar is a beach town east of Sinarcas and southwest of Guadalquivir. It is the most popular beach resort in San Pedro.

    Bajos-Sep7041224462946copy.jpg

About now (October) there aren't a lot of people. During Semana Santa and Summer though it becomes packed with tourists.

    Bajos-Sep6041224462917copy.jpg

Sanlucar isn't your typical cheezy cookie-cutter resort, the buildings along the beachfront are quite old.

    Bajos-Aug14041224462730copy.jpg

The old town is extremely overlooked. The Church of St. Benedict  overlooks a market square and is surrounded by old housing. It was built in an Italian baroque style by craftsmen from Rome and Napoli in the 1500s.

    Bajos-Aug14041224462773copy.jpg

The City Hall is one of the main landmarks of the city however.

    Bajos-Sep7041224462993copy.jpg

Just outside the city are acres of orange and olive farms, with the occasional agave plantation.

    Bajos-Sep7041224462972copy.jpg

Then, out of nowhere appears a huge resort, the Playa del Sanlucar. It was meant to be built in Sanlucar but the town refused, but allowed them to build farther away along the coast.
