Due to my connections, I couldn't see the entire pics. But I could tell how, colorful, these cities are. Not to mention it gives me a better idea of what spanish cities look like.

Very nice east Asain theme. I also sense a spanish atmosphere. Is it the buildings?

Kiwi n Grapes: Thanks. I love the name lol

Schulmanator: If you have a fruit roll up i'll trade. *trades* buahaha...  I photoshopped it 3.gif

Callbat: Thanks. Yeah, I just loooove Granada. But when I went there last year it was raining bad.

    dabadon5: Thanks 9.gif

edmonton_stinks: Thanks, that's what I had in mind.

hijodecordoba: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

    jacquilina: Thanks Jacky!

lucky7: Thanks, is that your dog on your avator?

    bokrif: Thanks!

Benedict: Thanks, I love the univesity too. I downloaded it a long time ago so I'm glad I can finally put it to good use. 4.gif

Nemesis666: Ah, I have connection problems too. The kind how the internet disconnects like ever 30 seconds. It's annoying. Thanks for the compliments!

Shingure: Hmmm, that is the question. 3.gif

I'm not ready yet with Sunda Kelapa so I'll show some more San Pedro.

    sanpedrojan250612085500qy1.jpg

Avenida Mayor is exremely busy during rush hour when people are heading to and from work. The Central Market is where many people go grocery shopping - usually inner-city folk, most people shop at suburban grocery shops.

    sanpedrojan301012086624mj9.jpg

As you can tell, traffic is awful in San Pedro. 3.gif Alot of people just travel around town via Tramways.

And now, for a mosaic of San Pedro's mini river-canal:

    sanpedrojan301012086624fw8.jpg

A nice walk alongside the canal is perfect for hectic and stressed businesspeople.  The ultra-modern Santiago Escalvo bridge was designed by famous Pedriano architect Santiago Escalvo, a relative of Santiago Calatrava. (not really 3.gif)

Excellent work once again. The first and last shots are my favourites.

Awww what a shame, from my experience Spain is best experienced in the blazing unforgiving heat 9.gif

Those are some good shots of the city. I'll bet the tram system is good.

Love that canal too! Seems like a great place to run alongside.

Hey Panther, what buildings are you using in your downtown San Pedro besides the Porkissimo Paris lots? I really like those colorful W2Ws. Very nice towns. Cheers!

Wow, this is really great. I like all the different palm trees in the sidewalks- are all those just default props?

Remade, eh? That's interesting. I've never been to Lisbon, but it still looks good. I notice a difference, though I couldn't tell you what Spanish looks like and what Portuguese looks like.

empireofsanpedrofdcdopycopy.jpgCallbat: Thanks. lol, yeah, I went there during Spring Break. My family went to Italy once for summer but it was really hot, and we decided we wouldn't go to the mediteranean during summer.

Benedict: I think he was talking about the pic I showed of Salau. I won't be able to show much more of it though cause it's all messed up. 15.gif

    bokrif: Thanks!

hijodecordoba: Yea, it's a very casual family-oriented city. Gracias. 4.gif

Madog: Not really colonial, mostly medieval but with 19th century spanish architecture. Thanks!

    bbfan02: Thanks. 4.gif

Taha'a: Well, the white ones with the balcony I made, but the others are by Mickebear, Heblem, and Debussyman.

Schulmanator: I'm sure you could! You've already made some nice mediteranean cities in Schulmania. 2.gif

    abcvus: Thanks, I don't like moonpies. 3.gif

edmonton_stinks: Yes, I'm actually working on a tram system for my new city since it's based on Lisbon, with a little touch of Barcelona.

    GingerBlokey: Thanks!

Voulpiotis: Thanks, unfortunately we probably won't see Salau for a long time. 15.gif

    Manubeas: Thanks!

waiyeap90: Get what? The buildings are (well, read my comment to Taha'a 3.gif) The cities are mostly based off of pictures I took in Spain and Portugal.

diamonddog_74: Thanks, most of the downtown buildings come from Frogface, Debussyman, JEC, and etc.

    The Big Z: Thanks!

    lucky7: Thanks, that's a cute dog! 9.gif

feliwi: Thanks. 4.gif Ah, Madeira is a nice place. A little isolated from Europe though.

hermannleicht: Really? I always thought they were for sangria. Thanks for the correction. 9.gif

    Sky Guy: Thanks!

Whoof. That was a lot. Thanks guys! Oh, and this Saturday I'm leaving for Mexico. 9.gif When I get back I'll probably be dying to make some Latin American cities.

Anyways, let's get on with the update, shall we? Today we'll take a look at San Pedro's capital, Carife.

    Valenzuela-Dec_01.jpg

    Valenzuela-Dec_02.jpgValenzuela-Dec_03.jpg

The old Santa Maria de los Mercedes Cathedral, built in the 13th century with gothic architecture. It is the oldest cathedral on the island and in the region. In front of the cathedral is the Plaza de San Pedro and the old Archbishop's palace. The cathedral survived the great San Pedro earthquake of 1700.

    Valenzuela-Jan14031211586975copy.jpg

The Municipalidad of Carife (City Hall) is located not far from the Plaza de San Pedro, tucked behind old medieval and 18th century buildings, many of which were built after a massive earthquake in 1745 devastated the old town, but left the cathedral intact.

    Valenzuela-Jan12031211586905copy.jpg

The waterfront gets very busy during the day with cars commuting to and from work. It's better to take a walk later in the day when it's not so hot and there's not so much car exhaust everywhere.

Next update will be a look at the Newer Town
