i recently downloaded the nam 6/17/05 and i dont have anything for the highways,im sure im missing more stuff too,could someone please help

    When you downloaded the file, there would also have been a ReadMe file & other documentation. At the first sign of trouble, people need to read the documentation49.gif. There isn't anything that can be said that isn't alreay taken care of in the documentation.

    Am i mistaken that there was a elevated one way road curve that was available through the latest NAM (as part of the one way road bridge puzzle pieces?) ..!!!????

    I've downloaded NetworkAddonMod_Beta_06.17.05.zip. When I try to extract the zip file I receive a dialog box asking for a password, as shown below. It seems that there are several files contained within the zip file that are password protected. What can I do?

    There were a whole new heap of puzzlepieces with the latest version. Whether some of these would be considered as 'curve', well that would depend on ones perception I guess. A lot of the newer puzzlepieces includes diagonal-based puzzlepieces, which includes corner puzzlepiece & diagonal puzzlepiece.




    Regarding ZIP file & password protection:
    I honestly do not know why this would occur. I have never had this particular issue with the NAM, & (for clarity) certainly do not put any kind of passwords on any uploaded files. I have though experienced this sort of problem myself with other zip files. It is a little unusual really, as it has only been recently that this sort of thing has been occuring (to myself at least with some zip files).

    It comes most with a corrupted download. Download again and the problem is gone (or, may be, not 2.gif)

    How about puzzle pieces for multi-highways with proper switches and turns (no offence lakeyboy10.gif) like the 401 in southern ontario.

    Of course you would have to add puzzle pieces for roads/aveunes to pass over it too.21.gif

    Ok heres another couple ideas. I apoligize if someone has already suggested these in on of the several pages (Plus im too lazy to look and read them) lol. But here we go.

    How about a downgrade option for roads. Instead of taking the road option and dragging it over your street to upgrade it, how about a road downgrade so when you click the street option  and click over the road it will turn back into a street. So it saves the hassle of buldozing the road and place back a street. This way it will give the streets back to the sims lol.
     
    My last option is (well not necessary needed for the NAM but it could be) is that a patch to fix the text tool (eg a street label) does not dissapear while upgrading the street, road or even connecting.

    I have the latest version of NAM, and everything works except the increase of capacities. My subway is still 2000 passengers even with the 'radical custom special'. I've removed all other mods, waited years in maps waiting for them to increased, pretty much everything I can think of. Any ideas? 42.gif

    Ya i have that exact same problem, although for some crazy reason everyone seems to be using the rails as I have 3 train stations well into the red. (7800+ people) Yet the city is 74,000 people i would of thought they would be prone to be using the road/avenues that I have originally laid out for them.

    None of the NAM files modify (Building) Lots at all, in anyway whatsoever. Nor do any files contained within the NAM modify any TransitEnabledLots.
    The different Traffic_Plugin files modify the actual networks themselves. This has nothing to do with the Stations, subways, bus stops, toll boths etc, that sit on or use the different networks. And despite being related & being affected they, networks & TransitEnabledLots that use the networks, are entirely two different things.

    just downloaded the new NAM...quick question...the turning lanes on the avenue only appear for an avenue-avenue intersection, right?  not for avenue-road intersections?

    My pathfinding does not seem to like bridges. I am using the Perfect pathfinding, along with 2x capacity, 10x commute, 10x speeds. But I recently had taken down a bridge because it had become clogged, and when I replaced it with a highway bridge, it stoped woring. a route query of the highway leading up to it shows that a few people travel over it, but querying the bridge shows none. A traffic data view shows no congestion. as in not even the green highlight. How can I fix this?
    This has also happened in another city right after the version before the current one was released.

    EDIT: Tried saving and quitting, and then re-entering the city. did not work.

    Can't say I've ever seen or heard of bridges not working pathing-wise. There's no reason why any bridges should not work, assuming they've been joined up correctly with the rest of the network. The NAM does not touch any bridge files at all as far as I'm aware, except onewayroad bridges (which it adds). I would suggest re-examining the set-up you have. If the problem does continue, feel free to post a picture of the problem.

    I have a question. How well does this T-Intersection stack up to the original? It's not up to scale, but I do like to download 3ds highway parts to recreate this.

    Another pathfinding problem that has occered elsewhere. the intersection was changed recently do to the obvious congestion:

    A route query shows that some sims take the proper ramp, while others go straght and take a 90 degree turn, as if it was still an avenue intersection.

    In future, please try use *.JPEG format for images as *.PNG images take way to long to load (even for images of the same size). anyhow


    Pic1:
    The fact that you've got a tunnel there, could be (partially) contributing to the problem, but not necessarily. It's a bit hard really to grasp any issue based only on that picture.


    Pic2:
    The fact the highway tiles near the bridge or the bridge tiles itself are not coloured (green or anything) to me highlights the fact that the exe hasn't picked up on the network tiles yet. This is typical for newly made sections of network tiles. Sometimes it may take a couple of months or more before new network tiles are recognised by the engine. But those highway tiles should at least be green, even if it isn't being used at all, like this;

    Essentially, this is the main problem. And it has nothing to do with the NAM, as it does not modify any of those files related to that bridge or any other apart from onewayroad bridges. Basically, you need to give the game more time to update. If it still doesn't work, then you may need to rebuild the bridge, but as I mentioned, the highway bridge tiles should at least show up as green on the dataview congestion map even if it isn't being used.

    That's not the Route Query, that's the Dataview Congestion Map, they're entirely two different things. The Congestion overlay map just shows the congestion of tiles, not where or how Sims are using a given network, they're entirely two different things. So that pic is rather quite normal. It's the Route Query Tool that handles the actual where & how of commuter routing. So the '90 degree turn', isn't actually a turn as such, the game is just highlighting which tiles have whatever congestion on them.

    I have this problem. I thought it was because I had this running: sidewalk avenue mod ver. 2
    so I took it out of my plugin folder. But that didn't appear to solve the problem. I then realized that if I zoned around the intersection that the cement would no longer be visable. So I thought I had it fixed, but then I realized that the cars will not use the turning lanes at all. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? I tried to search through this thread and other searchs but I apparently suck at searching. Thanks ahead of time.
