I cannot seem to figure out how to do roundabouts. there seem to be conflicting statements about whether or not they are included in this newest NAM. could someone who knows for sure tell me if they are, and how to get them to build? thank you.

absolutly amazing job on the newest NAM all who are involved...maxis should hire all of you. you have created rush hour 2!

@Tropod: I just discovered that the sandstone pedmall puzzle piece with GLR tracks has a wrong label. It should read 0x580F4700 instead of 0x580F1700 in the RUL file. I already fixed this glitch in the NAM I uploaded to my site.
Noted & fixed. Thanks.

Okay, so there now appears to be two different versions of the latest NAM, both with identical file names and version history.

Which is the NAM that works, and what was the problem that was fixed? (i.e., Did the wrong version cause crashes or something?) Thanks.

Thank You for Creating NAM, you have made my Gameplay more exciting and I have been using it for a long time now, and I always check on the Simtropolis Forums to see if there is any updates, (I have just downloaded the latest version and I am going to experiment with it later, the new four way junction bridge puzzle piece looks great, and the straight into one way highway offramps are ideal for the ramp to go into a One Way road and I am able to create toll junctions and the road flows into a huge roundabout (Rotary Junction) as seen in England (Where I live). (What I exactly mean by a Roundabout is a One way road that is slightly a square and I know you guys are currently in the testing stage of the new roundabouts, which Teirusu mentioned below, so I wish you people luck!)

You people are very good at coding and are able to put Simcity 4 Rush Hour to its full potential, and you lot should have the permission from Maxis to have the Hard Coding (Embedded) of the Game as the NAM and the Buildings on Simtropolis is one of the main reasons why people buy the Game! 10.gif9.gif

Date: 6/9/2005 2:31:32 PM Author: Andreas Roth It doesn't matter which version you use, as I said, it's only a wrong label (the small text bubble that appears when you place the puzzle piece). It doesn't influence the gameplay at all, and it certainly don't crash the game.

Oh okay, great. I wasn't sure if the label was just a text problem, or if it might cross-reference to something internal that might cause problems. Thanks for the clarification.

No, the road roundabouts are not included in this version of NAM.  Unfortunately, I couldn't finish everything in time before the freature freeze.  In fact, I'm still working on a few things.

w00t!

Every new versions of NAM is an excellent news!

I just can't believe what all of you guys done since the beginning, thank you so much!! Imagine what could be achieved if we had the tools that the SC4 developpers used to make the game.

Anyway, I'll have to try the new features ASAP and thanks again! 44.gif

I haven't noticed any slow-down, but my computer is quite new and it has 1GB of RAM. What are your specs? I guess it's possible the new NAM might eat up more RAM, since it's quite a bit bigger than the previous version. In any case, you really need 1GB to play Simcity 4 without major slow-downs when the cities get big.

Hey guys... great work on the NAM, I enjoy it alot!

I've got a question about the inclusion of the GLR mod with the NAM...  the GLR has the stations incorporated with the mod (the files come in a submenu when you download the files).  Are thest stations included in the new NAM version, or will we need to transfer over the station files individually?  (Sorry if the answer to this is straightforward... I will admit that I haven't fully installed the new NAM or tried it yet in game, but I was deleting the files etc that I WASN'T using and I saw the GRL mod in my NAM folder and wondered if I had to transfer over the stations as well)

Thanks!

P.S. One more question (and perhaps I'm fielding this in the wrong spot... I'm going to ask it in the Cosmetic mod thread as well) but does the latest NAM render the Cosmetic mod obsolete (does it include the upgrades of the Cosmetic mod)?

The GLR homepage is still open for stations and transitions. The two stations by JEC have not been added there because there are a few modifications to make (f.e. the strings show 'station by Brenda_XNE').

Ok, I'm sure this was discussed like before, but, i don't have the time to go through 90 pages of this thread...so, is there a reason why my game crashes whenever i hover a glr piece over a station?

P.S. Great work...this is way sweet44.gif

Has anyone found a fix for the elevated crossroads for the avenue pieces? They show up black around the intersections. I know there was a fix for the road puzzle pieces, but it didnt help my avenues. 42.gif

Since merging ATL with the NAM, some issues have become more apparent, despite a number of adjustments to bring the two together. It is mainly for this reason that I will be looking at making ATL optional in the next version.

To those of you with technical &/or installation problems:
do please read the included documentation that comes with the Mod 34.gif. It becomes quite apparent to many of us when people post about a problem, that they've not read the documentation. If English is not your first language though, then it's probably best if you point this out when posting a problem so that others know. That way, people may be more inclined to help.

    Regarding game crashing:
This issue is documentated in the Technical Notes, which are included with the NAM. It's a known bug, has been known for some time, & only Maxis is capable of properly fixing it.

    Regarding NAM & game speed:
Obviously as the game handles more files, the computer will require more resources. This is especially more so when it comes to network related aspects. The newest version of the NAM effectively saw over a doubling in the number of internal files it contains. So I wouldn't be too surprised with any slow downs that players may be experiencing. Though admittedly, slow downs can occur if there are network tiles present & the Path files for these tiles are invalid. So if you do notice a big slowdown with anything in particular contained in the NAM, do please point it out.

Obviously, you are using my Avenue Sidewalk mod. Remove it and the black around the avenue intersections should disappear.
