After I installed the new NAM, all the overpass and puzzle pieces disappeared, as well as the one way roundabout. What happened?

ok every time i use the On slope/Off Slope pieces part of it turns blue. if have the city rotated to where the north arrow points to the right side of the screen and the slope piece is perpindicular to the north arrow the piece closet to the top of the screen turns blue. it also does this when the pieces are in the same direction im facing in the game. Why?????????

btw: goldfish4209 and anyone with the same problem, get rid of the old version off NAM and it should work fine.

Hey. I just downloaded the NAM essential and the NAM May 07 from the M/D section. Is this the one that has all the new GLR pieces? I keep seeing reference to a 'June 2007' NAM, and have yet to see that on either the STEX, M/D or on SC4D. Any help would be appreciated as these are the main pieces I have been waiting for!

@joeshmoe: Unfortunately, that cannot be fixed. What you see is the shadow of the on-slope puzzle piece. If you plop one on flat ground, you'll see that it's actually tilted by 45 degrees, but due to game-limitations, the shadow looks always the same, regardless how the piece is oriented and/or tilted. So the shadow is "casted" on top of the piece, even if it should only appear below it.

@MaybeMemories: Well, Dirk mislabeled the NAM in the Modds & Downloads section. 3.gif The "May 2007" download should actually read "June 2007".

I was going to ask about stations for GLR/Avenue, but I see somebody is already working to create one. I now just want to say that this new NAM is awesome. I downloaded it last night and it is working just fine. I had some conflicts first, but after re-reading the instructions installation I could get it to work.

Thanks for such a great tool!

Hey guys, I've been trying to d/l NAM to no avail. Ive downloaded files from ST-Exchante without any problems but files under Mods & Downloads don't seem to work. I hover above the Download link in any file under this category and I see the little window showing the zip file and all... but when I click on it... my browser's status bar loads really quickly and thats about it. Is the link broken or something? Can someone email it or something? (how big is it?) https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=42&threadid=86575&STARTPAGE=12 i've got my email addys on that page. Thanks

@maraniac: If some items seem to be missing, you have a conflicting transit-related plugin installed. Please study the included readme files and the NAM threads here at ST for instructions how to get rid of it. The NAM Additional Bridges Controller is included in the NAM Essentials, available at the STEX.

@Atomic_Sheep: If you can't download the NAM from ST, try the download at the SC4Devotion LEX.

Before i destroy Networkaddonmod5.Dat , i thought id see if someone could help me out, . @Gridlock: I suggest to create a new texture with the same ID and place it in a separate DAT that is loaded after the NAM. I don't recomment modifying the actual NAM files, since they might change in the future.

@maraniac, MarcosMX: Sorry guys, but I can't help you. Find the conflicting plugin and remove it, otherwise the new NAM won't work. For a quick fix, try to add some "z" in front of the "Network Addon Mod" folder name, so it's loaded last. This should override the other plugin (but it will render those ones useless, needless to say).

This invisible tile thing seems common. Have you ever heard of BSC's cleanitol (clean it all) software? It's on SC4Devotion's LEX and is a much easier way to find and get rid of confliciting files. Of course, it's just a suggestion.

Keep calm and take photographs.

Something like that would look great for my C4BHWO/OR project. 4.gif

By the way, the page flip bug is due to an excessive amount of deleted messages. It's a bug in the forum code, I believe. I've run into it a lot, since I edit/delete/modify/mess up a lot of posts.

Andreas: Are you saying that if there are two NAM folders (one with two spaces between the three words, and another without the spaces), then I should add "zzz" in front of the Network Addon Mod folder instead of the networkaddonmod folder, and this will make the avenue roundabouts appear? Does this mean that I will have to re-lay all of the GLR pieces in Motrey and Domning? I plopped those before downloading this version of the NAM. The worst thing that could happen to me is if Genesis, Nebraska was deemed unplayable.

Remove the NAM folder that doesn't have the spaces. This is the old NAM, and it will conflict with the new version. If you didn't delete it manually, you should find an "uninst.exe" in the old NAM folder. Double-click, it, and it should uninstall the old folder. Maybe there will be a few files or folders left, i. e. if you changed something manually, but you can delete it safely. I strongly recommend to uninstall all old NAM files, and also use the BSC Cleanitol file in order to get rid of other conflicting mods before installing the new version. There are a few conflicting files that are not included in the Cleanitol file (nobody knows every file 2.gif ), but the most common ones of those are listed in Tarkus' excellent installation guide which he posted a while ago. Everything that was contained in the old NAM is still available with the new version, just make sure to select the appropriate plugins during the installation process. The only thing that was separated to separate downloads were the new custom bridges. If you used those, you'll have to download and install the updated versions as well.

I'm afraid I didn't understand that. If I used any of the bridges included in the other NAM, then I have to re-download them as seperate plugins from the STEX? And I don't think my main question was answered: If I delete the old NAM folder, does that mean I have to redo the GLR in my cities?

Yes, the bridges that were made by jeronij, fukuda and other developers have been separated from the NAM and are available as separate plugins now. The advantage is that you don't have to install them if you don't need them, and it also reduced the filesize of the core NAM files dramatically. And no, you don't have to redo your existing GLR system, just make sure to select the GLR plugin when you install the new NAM. You have to delete the old NAM files, though, since the new NAM has a different organisation scheme due to the modular approach. This also means that you don't have to download the entire NAM over and over again, once future versions are available. You just have to install the updated modules, rather than the whole mod.

I just found this mod and I have some simple questions.

What things this mod changes in the game and what it adds to the game?

Does this work with my "old" cities or do I have to make a new city to get this work?

Andreas: I still didn't understand the explanation. The bridges I'm talking about are the old arch bridge for roads, and other bridges created by the NAM team, the same NAM team that created the NAM itself. I noticed that those bridges were now uploaded onto the STEX, and it looked like they weren't included in the NAM! Just in case this fails, I have a backup of the old NAM folder in My Documents so that I don't get rid of it entirely. I hope you understand what bridges I'm talking about. NOT Fukuda's. NOT Jeronij's. One of the bridges I used in my region was for the rail network, it was white and had a futuristic look to it.

Shinkansen,

That "futuristic" bridge is one of Jeronij's. He made it awhile back and it is on the STEX here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=18240.

The additional bridges that were once part of the NAM are now separate plugins, which you can choose to install them or not. It's part of the fact that the new NAM is now modular. The additional bridges are on the STEX. It's up to you whether you want to download them or not.

The NAM Team had the NAM "modularized" so we can update components without having to upload an 10MB or so file every time. It makes it easier for the NAM developers to add things or update the existing components.

As for your GLR system, you won't have to relay your GLR system. The GLR puzzle pieces still exist in the NAM. We have added a draggable GLR addition, and you can choose to bulldoze all your GLR track puzzle pieces in your cities and replace them with the draggable GLR instead. The draggable GLR allows for diagonal crossings and even neighbor connections.

The old arch road bridge was also made by jeronij - and as I said, if you like to use that one, please download it from the STEX. If you install the old NAM again, the new version won't work properly. All NAM plugins were uploaded via the NAM Team account, so you should find them easily.

I don't know if this belongs here and if it doesn't I am sorry. I am having problems placing GLR on diagonal roads and avenues. I know it's possible as I have seen it done on the London CJ over at SC4 Devotion. Is my NAM missing those pieces or am I just going mad?

EDIT: Never mind I just figured it out.

So have I got an interesting one, at least I think it is.  I did a search and did not find anything related so here goes...

The picture explains most of it but to narrate, the left turn lanes seem to have been painted with a mirror.  The turn lanes are for left sided drivers but all the drivers in my towns drive on the right side.  They are functional like this mind you but not working or looking as desired.  I have removed NAM and reinstalled without the left handed stuff selected;  I have removed the directories and reinstalled; I have removed the turn lanes for roads and replaced it.  All with the same result.   Any thoughts?

Turn lanes

Edit:  now the picture will show...
