Missing props in original Maxis buildings

I've been having a strange and quite annoying problem with my copy of SC4 Deluxe. On every Maxis made building, growable and plopable, don't have any props. All that is there is the building and grass. No parking or trees or anything. Does anybody know what the problem is.

ert90, sorry to ask a silly question, just covering all the bases, have you recently installed any updates? if so you might want to check your graphics settings in game and reset them to high!

I've had exactly the same problem, and it's a total pain in the arse.

I'm in the middle of re-installing now, but not too happy about it at all.

I tried putting the settings at high but it didn't work.

i think it has to do with city detail and texture detail. but i have had it  happen as well.  i lost all the texture for maxis lots 7.gif

resetting the graphics settings brought back everything, but i had to restart the game.  i did download a mod i felt had something to do with it though, will have to test independantly.  swampers no palms prop seemed to remove more than it should, but i think the detail problem might have been in effect.

I'm guessing it's a mod as well.  I'm just too lazy to go back and test them individually.

Vadvaro, my mod only alters the appearance of the palm tree props by switching them with the model of a pine tree or a leafy tree, depending on which one you installed. My No $$$ Palms files just stop the networks from displaying palm trees where the growable flora appears along the roadways.

Now this is a really annoying problem. I have the exact same problem (after installing one of the recent BATs I suppose), but when I removed all the newly installed BATs, I couldn't fix it.

I think some of the updates I installed removed certain props.

Update: I have recently discovered, that the problem is created by the Newman Inc. Main Library building props. Uninstall them and reinstall the UPDATED version if you own it. However, the damage is done, and you will have to reinstall SC4.

Not sure if Newman is the cause of the problem - wasn't for me anyway. I've had the same issue but didn't have this Newman Inc. file. I reset my 'city detail' to high as suggested above, closed the game & started again and the problem was solved

I can only say that it has nothing to do with neither swamper no palm trees mod or the Newman Inc propfile, because I have both and no problems in my game. If all the Maxis bldgs have missing props, it is simply a matter of the Citydetails not being set to high.

Try setting all the settings to high and then save the city and leave the game. The next time you open the game this problem is solved. Simple as that.2.gif
