As for the chap who asked me about the Maxis No Farm mod, as it happens i'm not using it, I just think that I've been lucky with which farms I've been getting, and which I haven't! Ed

Official Mapping Community Requests
d211q2 replied to RadioheadFan's topic in Mapping Community Room
Hello! Does anyone know of, or if not, could they please make, a map of the North Eastern region of England. It'd an excellent place for a decent regional setting, as in real life it's got three major cities (Newcastle, Sunderland and Teesside), a cathedral university town in a spectacular setting (Durham), Rural areas, two international airports, and a major shipping service! Go on, make it - please! Ed -
As it happens the farms are BSC... They just don't seem to be working properly at the moment! Never mind.

Interesting, although with your new metro system... Isn't it fairly inauthentic to have an elevated rail system in a British based CJ? Aside from the docklands light railway I can't really think of one in the same mould as the El system on Sim City. What UK cities do have in general is an excellent suburban rail system (especially in Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London), or very modern GLR systems (Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham - and the Tyne and Wear Metro falls somewhere between the two)

Hedgerows... Forgot about them, bugger!!! Looking really good mate, and think I might end up buying you a Guinness (check my CJ to know what I'm on about - don't spoil it for the others!). Ed

And here we are... The first update! Basically, at the moment, we're just setting the scene - so the first pic is of the market town of Poshborough, and it's village green, on which the locals all meet to play a quick game of cricket and to gossip about who the farmer's daughters are sleeping with. At the top of the square is St. Peter's church, flying the flag of St. George as it's April 23rd today (and every day in fact... hmmmmm!). On the right hand side of the village green is The Peacock Public house, where pints of Black Sheep are sold to the farmers and their wives and children for 1/2d... Below is Poshborough market, where unlike the cattle markets of Britain today, cows are paraded before eager men. Oh hang on, that's exactly like the cattle markets of Britain today... Cheers to BSC for the market, and whoever did the church and the pub - sorry! Next we can see the tiny farming hamlet of Drury, with Poshborough bridge built over the River Wright. Constructed by the skills of master builder Mr. Dean Hooper, in the mid-eighteenth century, Drury's farmers can easily take their herds and crops over to Poshborough market. Finally we'll have a quick glance at the other two hamlets close to Poshborough, McKenzie (founded by a Scot with a fearsome reputation in the village boxing ring), and out of screenshot, Etherington. Yes, I know they didn't have modern electricity pylons in 1850, but if anyone's got any ideas on how to avoid them, do spill the beans! As it happens I spilt beans the other day... and ruined my new T-Shirt (ho ho ho). Will do a region view as soon as I've sorted out the villages elsewhere, do keep your comments coming boys and girls, they're all very useful! Anyone want to have a stab for the Guinness? Ed

Date: 6/12/2005 12:34:32 PM Author: Amryai200 that's too bad about your last CJ, that almost happened to me. It was a shooter (ed by Mr. C...watch the language please) , but never mind! What doesn't kill you...

Hello everyone! My name is Ed Warrick, and I live in Durham, England. I had a bash at a City Journal a few months ago, with Warfield, which you can see here . Anyway, to cut a long story short, my computer had a serious argument with it's hard drive, and unfortunately Warfield was caught in the cross-fire. So, with the exams over and a few months off before I start my career in Urban Regeneration (Oh yes!), what better to fill the time in than a city Journal of my very own. I've been sniffing around a few recently, and have been very very impressed by Thames, and I'll be having a UK-style CJ myself. Like Warfield, I intend to start at 1850 and develop the CJ right through until the present day. I'll try and keep it as realistic as possible, and I imagine the early genesis of Poshborough to be fairly similar to Warfield. The region map I'll be using is actually of Istanbul(!), which I found on the STEX, I can't remember who from, but thankyou very much! Photo below. If you've anything to say about Poshborough PLEASE get in contact, I don't want any beginners pity, just be honest! I'll just get the region prepared as if it were a tart on a night out, and I'll be back with the 1850 map of Poshborough in a jiffy. Also, for duration of this CIty Journal, we're going to have a little competition... whoever guesses the inspiration for ANY name I use can have a pint of Guinness on me... Get ready people! Ed Warrick

A Quick Guide on Missing Props on Lots
d211q2 replied to RalphaelNinja's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
I'm finding the car parks aren't showing up after I've loaded quite a few of the retail stores lots, e.g. Tesco, Blockbuster, Wal-Mart etc. etc. What's happened? -

I've had exactly the same problem, and it's a total pain in the arse. I'm in the middle of re-installing now, but not too happy about it at all. -
