Original SC4 Regions

(Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, I really tried to find anything about it)

So, how can I get the original regions back?? Someone screwed up almost all the regions (modified landscape, totally deleted regions...) and I wanna get them back.

Delete Sim City4 folders in My Documents and the Maxis Folder in the Program Files.

Reinstall. That should do the trick. If somebody messed them up, it has most likely been you, hasn't it?

you don't have to reinstall the game.. just delete the "regions" folder in your mydocs sc4 folder and next startup it will restore the files

OMG no! Everyone here is absolutely wrong. Simply go under C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Regions, copy all those regions, and paste them in your C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\SimCity 4\Regions folder.

I don't know about you guys, but months ago i tried deleting original regions, and they always appeared again in game.

This isn't about deleting them, but restoring them. Nihonkaranws has the answer - the originals are in \SimCity 4 Deluxe\Regions. Don't delete the entire regions folder under My Documents\Sim City 4\ though ... you'll lose any non-standard regions, too. Just copy/paste the regions from the originals folder (and if somehow you lost that, I'm pretty sure they're easily copied straight from the original CD as well, if memory serves).

It should, technically, work the same both ways.

Because if you remove them, then start the game. The game will get the information for the removed cities from either the cd or the other regions folder. (as long as this way works)

This would be the same as removing then replacing them.

Just what ever way you find easier.

Played around with this a while back..

If the My Documents/Regions folder is completely empty of regions, the game will copy all regions from the Program Files/Regions folder (original or custom). If there are any regions in the My documents/Regions folder (even one), nothing will be copied. If the regions in the Programs File/Folder were somehow were deleted, they can be copied from the CD (look for a Regions folder). Not sure if the game will load them from the CD if both region folders are empty (didn't try that).
