Tell us what makes you so special! Everybody has a talent, right? Are you a piano prodigy, or can you solve quadratic equations in your head? Do people tell you that you're the best marching band tuba player ever? Can you command photoshop like El Burro?

Just some rules I hope we can all stick to...

1) Be honest. Don't lie to ST, that's dishonorable even if you're the only one that knows. If you want to put up something absurd that can't be true, be creative and make sure you're upfront about it. If someone wants to pick this up as a forum game under 'silly fake bragging', that would be cool. [hint hint]

2) Be specific. No "I'm really smart" or "funny", etc. Be prepared to tell a story to illustrate what you're bragging about.

3) Keep it clean, there's minors here.

I will refrain for a while, and let others go first. This thread spawned from a challenge by my wife to put my own arrogance in perspective, and recognize the superior qualities of others in most areas. Really! So, let 'er rip!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

I finished Zork 1 without a hint guide.

I'm a good guitar player (in my opinion, of course).

I'm quite a good snowboarder.

My parents are wealthy.

I have ADD.

I'm sure there are other things I could put, but that's what just came to mind.

um, i can touch my nose with my tongue 3.gif

seriously, im one of the smartest people in my school with a 94% average (not counting gym, religion etc). I can also be pretty funny at times just to keep the mood in school light. alot of people i know stress and take things way too seriously so i do what i can. mostly im in the recieving end of my own jokes 3.gif I also like to think of myself as a nice person who is easy to get along with. Im not really extraordinary at anything but im easily teachable and am normally decent at most things. except for band, as soon as my mouth touched the trumpet Louis Armstrong rolled over in his grave.

Nah, I'm not a club person. I've looked at Mensa puzzles, and while I do often have an easier time solving them than those around me, I don't exactly find them "fun".

I dabbled in Sudoku for a bit, but then got bored of it since is was extremely repetitive and also rather easy.

...on the other hand, I, for whatever reason, cannot wrap my mind around Rubik's Cubes at all. I'd say it's because my strength is in logic, not forethought. I'm very intuitive when it comes to "If I do A, B happens" type things. But start including multiple steps in which what I do first determines what I can do second, and I'm not always that great at thinking more than one step ahead without some visual way of mapping things out and viewing possible outcomes beforehand. Give me a maze on paper and I can get from start to finish without too much trouble, as I'm viewing the whole picture at once. Put me in a hedge maze and all of a sudden I'm not so proficient at it, since now my field of view is very limited. But then give me a map of that hedge maze and I'll be out of there in no time. This is quite typical of someone with Asperger Syndrome: highly proficient at dealing with definite things they know, not so good at making inferences about missing information or picking up on subtleties. Very concrete and literal thinking, not that good at thinking abstractly.

Summed up: Show me the whole picture and I can figure out basically anything. Show me a small part of the picture and expect me to try and anticipate the rest without actually seeing it first and I'm not much better than your average Joe (or at least I don't think so).

Very interesting, Duke. I have similar issues, they were generally attributed to ADD/ADHD for me. My parents never told me anything, I figured out in my 30s what was screwing me up in so many ways all those years. C'est la vie, the past cannot be undone. When I finally toot my own horn later on, I'll elaborate.

    Hmm, what makes me special...

I am able to grasp concepts faster than most people.

I am hyper-competitive (which can get annoying during certain activities, such as driving).

I am also highly dangerous from beyond the arc on a basketball court.

Are you person 1 or 2? Because A# isn't the same as Bb. On a piano, yes, but not on a violin.

Let's see.... I'm a very fast reader and a great writer. I can draw really well, and I excel at portraits. I do get really good grades but I also like to challenge myself in school so, sometimes the grades aren't A's.  I know a lot about music, but really... I only know a lot about rock/metal music. I know pretty much everything about The Sims 2 because my life is based around that game 3.gif And most importantly, I have a wonderful family, and amazing brothers and sisters that are my best friends. 9.gif

Yeah, that's it. I don't like to brag about myself because there really isn't much to brag about...
