The Serbian Parliament has the potential to be a perfect historicist civic Eupropean BAT. As others have mentioned, the real life roof really would be better, especially with the four light courts. The light courts and original shallow shed roofing will allow us to "read" the building such that we visually understand that there are two wings flanking a long central gallery. The current uniform roof reads like a big-box warehouse retailer, and that competes with and undermines the building's classic style. Please consider re-tightening the central block and adding the four light courts. which would breakup the uniform roof and uniform pipework and add moments of real architectural interest.

If the original roof still seems too plain for your taste, you might enliven it with the suggestion of shallow translucent skylights, which the aerial may be hinting at and which still maintain the integrity of the classical design. In truth, those may or may not be skylights in the aerial photo, but it really doesn't hurt for them to be!

Agree with patriots_1228. Skylights are too green. maybe if you lighten the green saturation/hue.

I'm not familiar with the building, but from the aerial posted before, it looks like there is copper flashing all around the top of the roof edge, and it looks like those copper domes aren't just sitting on the roof, but are more integrated with the rest of the building. Also, I think the texturing still needs a lot of work.

The new building seems to be looking good so far.

Wow, looking great! Nothing is final right? The wall textures look like they should have more detail then they do, the ones you textured already that is. And I'm guessing that there is a lot more building up on the roof that isn't there yet, I was kinda confused by the paper walls up top =P

Anyway, you are still working on it, so don't let me sound like I don't like it. Looks Awesome so far!

I really like this latest building it soooo... byzantine!

But as far as renders go... particular artistic ones first thing you have to sort is LIGHT not trees and cars...

Generally light is the mot important factor in ANY presentation. It is all you see. Another thins are materials but again this is important because of their interaction with light.

in this case you have a model that seems to be good enough (I also assume it is a still somewhat work WIP) but there is nothing in the material and light departments.

Background... well I guess it is absolutely pointless to talk about matching at this point, as the current light in scene wouldn't match any kind of background, even one of overcast day, but just to point out that you should take care of consistency of lighting between your scene and bitmap background (if you use one). It is an art form of it's own. And At this stage I would suggest to you to use a proceral one (like Mr Physical Sky) instead of bitmap since such a outcrying mismatch doesn't make you picture look better, quite an opposite.

I also think the roof of the arena is a bit bland, it would look better with some sort of subtle paneling of some sort. I don't think they could make that whole roof in one piece =P

The post office is looking beautiful, but I have a few problems with it. The roof texture is repeat city, it defiantly needs a larger/ more detailed texture. It looks like it has some sort of sun-discolored tar paper at the moment. And while we are up there, I think there should be some sort of drainage for where the roof lines intersect ( |/_ the middle section) and also some sort of cap on the ridge of the roof, a bare corner looks... well... bare. For the walls of the building, I think the textures look pretty good, with the exception of the less detailed, flat walls. The detailed sides give it some interest and all but eliminate the need for an engaging texture, but where the isn't any fancy modeling, it looks bare and boring. Unless of course this is in fact a plastered or concrete building, it should have some defined stone block or brick texture apparent to aid those poor blank spots. One last point, do those small towers in the corners where the walls meet really look that bare? After all the effort you put into the other details they just seem a bit left out. Of course they might look more engaging with a better texture.

All in all,you have done a wonderful job. Still better than what I have been able to do model wise. Best of luck,

    -Todd

This REALLY looks like the Optima Condominium in Toronto. It's a part of the Concord Cityplace project. I'm not sure if that is indeed you inspiration, but it looks exactly like it. If it's not it only shows the unoriginality of today's new developments in North America.
