As for the tower, I prefer the new version 2.gif

OMG, that last one is great! And it inspires me to make a multi-building lot... buildings like this one is what the game needs. The only aspect that doesn't convince me is those loose boards on the roof. They would fall down too easily and pose a great risk to all people around the building, so I don't think they are very realistic. I'd prefer them to be removed, tbh.

That is an excellent point T Wrecks, why didn't I think of that? I have found many (just about anywhere you go) cases where there are several (dozens in some cases) of these long buildings on one plot of land (no major roads going through). And out of the 4.5 GB of plugins in my folder, I think only a handful of lots that incorporate this planning, came from SCPolska I think. These long blocks of yours (hell, even the ones I'm working on now) are good candidates for this. I'll have to check with my LOTer (Jasoncw 3.gif) and see what we can whip up.

Best of luck,

-Todd

To make a growable larger than 6x6 save the Lot (with some random building in it). Then open it in iLive reader, change LotConfigPropertySize to size you want (hexidecimal used). Then rightclick somewhere and select reindex lotconfig and save.

Re-Open the lot with the LotEditor. Put you building in. Save. Done! Whatever you do don't change the lot size in the LE otherwise it will revert back to 6x6.

Not bad, young grasshopper. 3.gif

Besides, it wouldn't have to be too huge. Unless the building is e.g. 8 tiles wide, I don't see a point in making 8x8 lots. Those huge squares tend to make a city look blocky and clumsy if the buildings don't make the size plausible. I was thinking of SFBT stuff in the sizes 4x5 / 5x4 / 5x5 - check these links:

These houses by StephenHH, lotted by ArkenbergeJoe, were great stuff for their time. However, modeling and texturing standards have evolved, and I immediately thought that what you are assembling here would be a worthy replacement for these lots that feel a bit dated among the other stuff in my latest plugins folder.

Thanks guys, really appriciate all your comments. Well i was thinking of making larger lots for the last one but i was thinking 4x3 or 6x2 as the largest lot. I don't think the building is appropriate for a 5x5 lot. btw here is a new one

Wow, I really love the colors on that stout little block, that came out beautifully!

As for this rail... thing, I haven't the slightest clue. Looks like it could be the base to a giant crane, or perhaps the beginnings of a rail gun  11.gif

The new department store is kick ass, I thought the first one looked good! The only thing I would really adjust is to add a bit more texture to those big red walls next to the entrance.

I like the direction you are going lately,

Is the water tower the only one having problems?

That is odd, I have not run into it myself, but I have seen it happen to BATs in game. Try merging into a new scene and resting lights and cameras. Sounds like it could be a .fsh problem (since I'm sure the BAT created the render for that zoom), but how to fix it I'm not sure.

    Best of luck,

    -Todd

^ I think Todd has the right idea. Select and group just your water tower, and then merge it into a new scene. Reset the camera and lighting rig, remake your LODs, and then export again. Also, be very careful to select all the .FSH files when you copy and paste them afterwords.

Some really great work here! I can't wait to see more, and I'm looking forward to seeing that department store grow in my cities.
