Agreed about Maxis. But If EA makes a more crappy game, I would choose boycotting it, and if they make no money off of an 'Simcity Societies II' they won't make it because it wouldn't be profitable.

Yeah, there's no point of getting a expansion pack if the game isn't good enough for it.

I played SCS for: 15 days and i'm probably never going to again.

I played SC4 for: 1 year and 3 months and I may play it untill 2011.

They're desperate, all right. Soon this strange, undefined demographic entity called 'casual gamers' will realize that EA is trying to get their money - nothing more. By releasing the game in minute pieces $30 a piece, they can suck more than $300 out of you!

No expansion pack can help this game - if they wish to make it a real Simcity, they might as well start from scratch and act as if this whole SCS experience was just a nightmare.quote>

Well Japan has it better then us, they have recently released a game for the DS called Simcity from past to future. It is rather expansive, it goes from the prehistoric ages to the future times. Many building styles and Will Wright appears as a guy named Mr.Maxis. But The only thing that EA hasnt done to insult us is putting Will Wright in Societies. If they ever put the sacred creator on societies, that will pretty much piss off everybody.

"EA wants their money back. and they will work TM to death to get those billions back. if you dont meet EA's timeline, and earn more money then they invested. they will bleed your company dry to the point where its just a memory, like microprose."

^^Do you think he is right?

Possibly, many strategy gaming comps have been destroyed by EA before. And its Tilted Mill, not EAxis who will suffer. But simtropolis seems to want them to suffer anyway.

I honestly feel this is the only expansion pack for Sim City Societies because they have the Sim City Box pack, and according to Amazon.com, you can't even buy SCS9.gifestinations alone. They even have Spore for sale on there and it's 5 months before it comes out... and you can't even pre-order SCS9.gif a month beforehand?

If they did that, I would loathe them above all else. The very idea of putting in his name on SCS irritates me to the point where I want to scream.

I am fully aware of the Japanese DS edition. Woudl you want to play it over SC4?

I know I wouldn't.

michaelsjewel: As far as I know, as of now it only appears in the SIMCITY BOX on Amazon.com.

A classic scheme to make money masquerading as a "good deal".

These EA people that developed this game don't even appear to have a perception of the reality of the fan reaction to this nightmare that they have created.

I have not bought a single EA game in 3 years and I have no intention of doing so again.

I noticed only the godly or the highly upgraded decent computers can handle SCS. Also, for some reason, when I try to play SCS, my laptop either says "access denid" or "can not run SimCity Socities" or the computer crashes. Lol, I realized that computers also hate SCS!

Now EA is going to release SimCity Creator in 2011, another rip off game....

Yes, another ripoff. SCS Destinations will be a $40 expansion pack; and you have to purchase 2 other games to buy it!

I hope that EA will sell very few of these "boxes" and the general public will realize that EA is only after their money -- nothing more.

@ un1

go check the wiki entry of sim city

it says that SC Creator was anounced alongside several other sim games and would be released before march '11, according to sims label president nancy smithalong (I know it aint her fault, but... what a stupid name...)

Well, I did as I said I would, over at Tilted Mill; I bought this piece of %$#@#$%.

My girls wanted it, but they hated it rather quickly.

So, I sold it for ten bucks to a friend who wanted to try it out. He is still playing and says, "it's not bad". However, he has never played SC4 or SC3000 .

I like the idea in Japan: having a city develop from stone age, all the way to futuristic city. THIS IS what we been looking for right? Of course, Spore is about the same deal, only much more expansive. I'll wait for Spore(the real update to SC4) IT's creator IS actually Will Wright and that is the only thing right about the entire series!

Will W. will not appear in the SCS game because he has nothing whatsoever, to do with it's inception or development. Thus my above statement rings true, eh?

No Wright, nothing right.

EA is acting like that one costume store that I knew before. The store ripped off their customers, by selling crappy costumes at high price, and placing the tags saying you can't return the costume once you buy the costume, at knee height on the back of the costumes. At the end, the store ripped off so many customers; that the store had moved to another city to continue ripping off customers.

Yep, sounds just like EA (only they can't "move to another town").

I guess I am going to voice an upopular opinion here...I have played the older simcities before and didnt liked the complexity too much. I like a fully functioning city with food, water, power and all sources expected from a town. I see the anger of EA trying to continue this franchise rather then making a Simcity 5, but one must remember that EA wanted something new, something that can attract a new crowd. But sadly it was done poorly. Ah well, I may as well enjoy it lest they do the same thing as they did with Road Rash

It's a bad begin for SimCity Societies Destinations, it was delayed, the release date was changed from May 29th, 2008 to June 23th, 2008 !

There never was a true confirmed date, but nonetheless. I could persume the expansion will fail unfortunately.

I don't really care if they do, because I don't want it anyway. However, it is a disgrace on a corporation to do such a disservice to their customers. I have found that the majority of places I go nowadays in the so-called "service industry", the places are notoriously delayed and inefficient. But, that's another discussion.

Since the base game failed, I predict the same for the expansion (if it's ever released).

Curious, i just pre-buyed it because it will add deeper gameplay to this game which need greatly 4.gif

So, i do not liked so much SC4 because its too complex, sorry if i shoke you my sirs, and CitiesXL will problably comptempting certernly a few of you but will discouraging lot of peoples by excesfully copmplexity 2.gif

So, you shouldn't my sirs to do not accept a splitting of the market in two parts : one for great public (or casual) and one for them who wants a real simlulator of city...

Because, don't forget that video game market was marginalized in 1990, the arrival of casual players will make a lot of money for companies of videos games...

For 10 hardcore player games it has 100 casual player games, do you understand ? 2.gif

I do, but the problem is, it tanked in the ratings (similar to streets of simcity, great idea. Piss poor execution). And Simtropolis prefers realism to casual gaming. They want more tools not less.

So basically the majority of the human race is too stupid and lazy these days to even learn to play a game, even with Tutorials... they basically take 99% of the learning effort away from you. I only buy games according to genre, I don't care how steep the learning curve is...

However, I make acceptions to games that are JUST learning curve... like Supreme Ruler 2020... I got that game last week and all i've been doing is learning, its like sitting with an Economics proffessor that won't shut up. I guess most Geo-policital games are like that... SC4 however, is not.
