  1. Simcity Societies Destinations

I do, but the problem is, it tanked in the ratings (similar to streets of simcity, great idea. Piss poor execution). And Simtropolis prefers realism to casual gaming. They want more tools not less.
  2. Simcity Societies Destinations

There never was a true confirmed date, but nonetheless. I could persume the expansion will fail unfortunately.
  3. Simcity Societies Destinations

I guess I am going to voice an upopular opinion here...I have played the older simcities before and didnt liked the complexity too much. I like a fully functioning city with food, water, power and all sources expected from a town. I see the anger of EA trying to continue this franchise rather then making a Simcity 5, but one must remember that EA wanted something new, something that can attract a new crowd. But sadly it was done poorly. Ah well, I may as well enjoy it lest they do the same thing as they did with Road Rash

Indeed, you are not pressured to build a giantgantic metropolis at all. You can build a decent thriving small town built on primitive industry and the like and not feel tempted to evolve the city. Plus, it actually allows me to create an agricultural town that grows throughout the years.
  5. Is Simcity Societies just a joke?

It just depends on your POV, I for one enjoyed being able to just sit back and build the city I want. And brings up good ideas I wanna see in a real simcity in the future (like a raw materials industry and such)

Possibly, many strategy gaming comps have been destroyed by EA before. And its Tilted Mill, not EAxis who will suffer. But simtropolis seems to want them to suffer anyway.

Soon this strange, undefined demographic entity called 'casual gamers' will realize that EA is trying to get their money - nothing more. By releasing the game in minute pieces $30 a piece, they can suck more than $300 out of you! No expansion pack can help this game - if they wish to make it a real Simcity, they might as well start from scratch and act as if this whole SCS experience was just a nightmare.quote> Well Japan has it better then us, they have recently released a game for the DS called Simcity from past to future. It is rather expansive, it goes from the prehistoric ages to the future times. Many building styles and Will Wright appears as a guy named Mr.Maxis. But The only thing that EA hasnt done to insult us is putting Will Wright in Societies. If they ever put the sacred creator on societies, that will pretty much piss off everybody.

Yes, but necromancy is bad mmkay? Anyways, it lets me put up another SE Demystified... Why does most of the properity workplaces drains productivity? Essentially, you got a nice building that can generate a better and safer source of revenue then persay a sweatshop. Of course it gives off prosperity because it allows a city to invest in some form of business, but where to tap from really? You are basically forced to work in cubicles where creativity isnt encouraged and the bottom line is money. You can tap from entertainment venues since you can invest in something say...a deli chain, or maybe real estate firms. And generally you have an eager workforce who wants to go from working in an assembly line to something that pays more and gives your sims a possibly nicer future.
  10. Societal Energies Demystified

True, but I sorta liked reading the flavour text that came with it. And need more explaination of SE affecting certain buildings?
  11. Societal Energies Demystified

Orchards and vineyards use up Prosperity because it is a luxury crop, generally nice to have some nice fruit to your table, but you need people who could afford to spend money. Likewise, productivity workplaces drains said mood because no one likes to work there, its grueling, tiring and the wages are terrible. So the venues offers a solution to it by giving the worker class a place to recoup (albeit unconstructively mostly)
  12. Simcity Societies Destinations

Well, at least we will see variety in seaports (No more seaport = polluting harbor).

I know I would probably get blasted by every ST's Dr VU anti Society Cannon. But I cant wait to see what they got to offer, hopefully maybe a fun future city set so you can build a little cyber city that isnt so depressing. But I wouldnt put too much hope in transport, mostly it is going to be just static buildings for an airport (wonder who will get the rights to the air force military base, Authority or Knowledge?)
