Hey everyone,

I did a search and couldn't find a thread similar to this one, so I decided to post my question. I'm just curious as to how many plug-ins everyone has downloaded. I have 1.06GB of plug-ins that need to re-organize 15.gif

----

How to find the Plugins folder

-> goto C:\Documents and Settings\< your user account >\My Documents\SimCity 4

-> find the Plugins folder and right-click on it

-> select Properties

-> look at the Size attribute.

Please vote on the poll, thanks! 4.gif

Mine's about 650 MB... and it definately won't end there...

BTW, I've even heard some dude's folder was over 10 GB (!!!!!) big. He couldn't even enter without freezing his PC. Dunno if this is true...

You will need a lot of computer memory cards for a 10GB. Also, it can't be a laptop because you can't upgrade, replace, or add more memory cards otherwise, you will break  the laptop.

My plug-ins folder is about 1.5 GB. It takes about 10 minutes for my Simcity to load.

My dad has just recently upgraded the computer's RAM. Now it takes about 3 to 4 minutes to load the game.

Plugins, eh? I've got about 500 MB of stuff, excluding skyscrapers. Probably over 1 GB with them included.

17.8 gb's and 31,455 files in 7,692 folders and having started a clean-up a week ago, meaning that probably 1.5 gb's (about 3,000 files) are already in the *out of game* bin.

........and continuing to clean............... P)

Mine is 1.5 gb, with 300 folders and 2,108 files, after two session of DatPacker. I think this is the biggest mine has gotten though. I got a new computer with 10 times more memory than my last one(no joke. It really is 10 times bigger).

I actually have it split between the two plugins folders.  The one under Program Files is 2.15GB with 1,274 folders and the one under My Documents is 1.19GB with 665 folders.  Everything is very very organized.

I was just looking at these the other day too, when I was going on a download spree for The Sims2.  My TS2 downloads folder just made it up to 2.3GB with 213 folders.

Custom content has made these games.  Without it, both games would die almost instantly

I`ve shrinked it down from over 1gb to about 600mb. After upgrading RAM and vacuumcleaning my computer finally runs smooth again. Haha 2.gif

I have a plugins folder of approximately 34.5MB of space, and I frown upon those who have folders of junk too big or above 1.0 GB because it is really bad for your computer period.

It isn't bad as long as your computer has enough RAM, hard disk space, and if your computer is fast enough to handle everything you downloaded on to the computer.

DatPacked: 1.02 GB

Unpacked:  1.10 GB, 4512 files, 730 folders

My computer has 2GB of RAM, and it takes me quite a while to load up SC4. I generally leave the room, get lunch or a snack, and come back in in time to wait a few more seconds for it to load. And then I have to wait again to load a city.

Whenever I mention all the RAM I've put into this computer, my parents remember how everyone thought they were crazy when they got a computer with 5 MB of RAM, because that was so much.
