It was really difficult deciding the order of this list. I may have forgotten some bands or put others in a not-perfectly-exact place, but the list is pretty accurate, especially the top five.

As you can tell, I love 70s music.

EDIT: Add Steve Miller Band and Hall and Oates in there somewhere because I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Here's my second fav.... Radiohead lol  really though it's hard to say as there must be a good five that could fall in that spot if I had to try to rank them.

My second favourite band is the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.  Third place goes to the New York Philharmonic.

 

What one views as a band can vary from three men in a garage to a 250 piece Wagnerian orchestra.  Some never get past the former.

Definitely no-one from this day and age, but then again I have no one favorite above others, there are several I could listen to all day.  Artists/groups like Zeppelin, Boston (first two albums, the rest blow), Bob Seger, GnR, AC/DC, Collective Soul, Nirvana, Rush, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John ( 70's era) and Journey to name a few.

I remember when I first heard Tom Sawyer from Rush back in 1980, had no idea it was them at the time, but do remember everyone in high school wearing 'Moving Pictures' concert shirts that first week of school.  So I wen to the school library that had a great collection of albums we could sit and listen to and I pulled out the six lps they had at the time and plopped Moving Pictures on the old turntable and gave it a spin.  Low and behold the first song was Tom Sawyer and I became a fan of Rush for life.  Even got to see them at Madison Square Gardens on Sept 17, 1984 and still have that concert shirt with the album cover from Grace Under Pressure on the front and concert dates on the back.  Oh, if any of you who have seen Rush in concert, did they perform the entire 2112 or just the Temples of Syrinx?  I was lucky, got the whole 22 minute version live.
