Well, after a few months at ST I think it's time. This is just something I made using the in game Berlin region, using the Columbus Terrain mod and realistic water mod and countless BATs. Thanks to all who made them. I'm going for a small town feel, so don't expect too much growth too fast. Lastly, it's got an odd storyline, but I'm no author.

Here goes:

brughurstthebeginningjc7.png

brughurstdec90211941264eb2.pngThis is where Brughurst began, on the banks of the Nacht RIver, literally meaning Night River.

This Plot holds a highway connecting two Large cities: Cologne and Bonne

brughurstaug70011941240sd8.png

This is the Small town of Brughurst. It was established 15 years ago in 1985. It was and still is mostly a rest stop containing a few dinky stores, two gas stations a few civic buildings, and houses for all the workers. It was one of Germany’s Earliest experiments with wind power.

brughurstaug70011941241ps7.png

This is Interstate 70, it is a heavy duty 6 lane expressway that is 245 miles long. Here is Exit 2. This is where Brughurst stands. The year is 2000. The Previous and much disliked Western Mayor, Dr. Robert A. Greenfield has just been ousted from office on charges of bribery and extortion. Greenfield was well known and hated for his arrogance and carelessness for Brughurst. He lived in an expensive villa far from the slum and obeyed no laws, not even those set by himself.

brughurstaug70011941241ot5.png

The I-70 Bridge over the Nacht.

brughurstdec24001194124qg6.png

These people in Brughurst chat about the upcoming mayoral nominations. They have no idea that Brughurst is about to be put on the map.

Thats all for now, more when I get around to it. Comment, critique welcome.

BTW, everything is fictional and in no way represents Germany in any form. It just had to be somewhere.

Skram - Oh, sorry. Like I said, I made this a few months ago, so I can't really change much until later. Thanks for the feedback!

    UPDATE 1:

    brughurstoct19011194125fr0.png

Here comes a sedan, coming off of the northern exit to Brughurst. Inside is a tired but hopeful man. After a string of city-planning successes in cities such as Sting Island, the Qin Peninsula and Newburg, he seeks to improve a small city and leave his legacy in the form of a new dot on the map. This man is Gary Hedge.

    brughurstmar20211941256dh5.png

The little community takes an instant interest in Hedge, and his announcement to run for mayor generates great approval. Until the elections though, he will have to settle down. While the town observes, Hedge purchases a home at the far North of the town and applies for a job at the local shoe Emporium (bottom). His Humble attitude earns him yet more popularity in the 988 person town.
Two Months later, the elections are held. Hedge wins against his rival Samuel Symonds by a land slide: 987 to 1. It is widely suspected that the vote Symonds received was from Greenfield’s great aunt Bush.

    brughurstapr13021194125jl4.png

The waves of Big City journalists who were shocked at the news that Hedge would take command of such a tiny and useless town. The surge in tourism brought the start of an economic boom in Brughurst, as well as traffic jams. This particular jam involved a messy accident involving a Range Rover being embedded into a Volvo and Oldsmobile while a 1997 Ford Explorer found itself impaled by a Renault and Mercedes.

    brughurstmay30021194125dn5.png

Suddenly the demand for housing skyrockets and soon the first high wealth housing appears. This is the new Oh La La estate near Exit 2A. And now the neighbors are getting fancy too.

    brughurstmay30021194125ze6.png

Remember that boom in business? That is well illustrated in this picture. Having gained so much money, local entrepreneur Rube E. Moneybaggs built not one, not two but 11 additional stores all in a row.

    brughurstoct19021194126zz0.png

A new development is zoned to meet the growing demand, but it is soon filled and the demand is still on the rise. The expansion includes a new police station and fire station, medical clinic, elementary school, temple and …. oooh what is this?

Looking good, especially nice for a first CJ. Only thing I don't like is that it's a little too Maxisy.

cool! It almost feels like a south eastern-USA ghetto, even though it's German. Nice work, keep it up.

The really long streets in that one suburb shot look kind of weird, going that long without seeing another road. It would be frustrating to live there. There seems to be a bit too much building repetition, but it otherwise looks good and great for a first CJ.

bbfan02- Thanks, does it work now?

WillG_75- Thanks, I made this a month ago so I can't change it. My next one is way better.

    City2TheMax- Thank You!

    2nerdy4u- *see above* Thank you.

edmonton_stinks- Thanks! I was thinking about changing that but never got around to it. My next CJ will be more interactive, as I will be narrating and making it at the same time.

    UPDATE 2:

    Rockport

    brughurstjan26041194127ny3.png

This is Rockport. Slightly younger than Brughurst, it has developed slowly. It sits off of Interstate 94, which for a few miles runs parallel to I-70. A 45 Million dollar project has been proposed to connect these two motorways and potentially annex Rockport as an extension of Brughurst.

    brughurstjan26041194127wd6.png

The first phase of construction begins by moving the Rockport onramp farther west and submerging a mile and a half of I-94. The project is so far running smoothly being 2.7 million dollars under budget.

    brughurstfeb10041194127ru4.png

Near Edmonton Reservoir is where the real work starts, within one year, A “T” intersection connecting the interstates must be completed.

    brughurstfeb10041194127dy1.png

Eleven months later, the massive project is completed nearly 5 million dollars under the budget. Rockport and Brughurst are now the Brughurst township.

    brughurstjun70411941287ml6.png

It is in this new area that a new farming development springs. Agriculture has never been prominent in Brughurst, but an effort to promote locally grown food has raised demand. The Edmonton Reservoir is being demolished and a new high tech set of aquifers along with Geothermal energy systems are being implemented into each building. To the North is Stratton.

    brughurstmar21051194128qv7.png

Stratton, founded in 2009 by Gary Hedge himself consists of a large farm, two separate business complexes and separate housing developments, along with the largest medical center in the region. The Bhosle Memorial Hospital has a capacity of over 3500 patients with 113 doctors and 176 nurses.
