All right...from the different conversations in chat, I'm certain that there are a number of people here who play some version of Guitar Hero III.  So here, you can share your opinions about the game in all aspects: your favorite songs, the hardest songs, comparisons between the different versions, online matches, etc.

I myself, as I only have a PC, just got it today.  I'm disappointed...not with the game, but with my computer.  You see, I have an NVidia GeForce 6150 nForce 430...but the minimum graphics card required is the NVidia 7600.  So my game lags like heck, to the point where even the first song on the easiest setting with all the options at their lowest possible is the hardest thing to get through in Career Mode.  It's so frustrating 32.gif!!  I'm glad I have the game, but now I have to wait until about January to really experience it.

Oh well...I'll keep trying, maybe I'll get lucky one time.

Anyways, express your opinion on this game!

My exact situation 3.gif I can pass most songs on hard, i have no rhythm so I don't get very far with songs with a lot of strumming. 3.gif I passed most songs on guitar hero II on hard too.

My little brother Eastwinn already beat it on expert. He passed Lou too. But, he can talk about it himself 3.gif

I personally like the songs better on guitar hero II. The song choices for guitar hero III were questionable....

Plus, dragonforce...? 28.gif27.gif

Wait, wait...what is this?  No DragonForce in Guitar Hero?  Blasphemous!

Heh heh, just kidding!  You are, of course, entitled to your own opinions.  And it's not like I've even gotten that far (because I still have yet to beat the first song on the easiest setting), but to play DragonForce on Guitar Hero...man, I'm still waiting for it!

This GH, though, has more songs that I recognize and am wanting to play than any previous version of the game.

I think she means she doesn't like that Dragonforce was in the game. Through the Fire and Flames is crazy hard even on Medium.

beebs, I share your pain. I can barely pass any songs on hard, but rock it on medium. I really wish there was a setting in between...like hard medium with more notes, but still using four of the frets

Ive beat the game on hard and im halfway done with expert. Hard isnt to bad if you beat expert on GTH 2. Expert is really hard on this game tho.

It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

Do you think it is worth it to buy the third one if you liked the second one?

I've beaten all the songs on easy with five stars, and I've beaten all the songs on medium with five stars except for one whose name escapes me at the moment. I'm just now trying to get used to using all five frets for the hard version, and the song "Talk Dirty to Me" is a very fun song to play on hard.

Paranoid and My Name is Jonas are ridiculously easy.

Raining Blood = the most painful thing ever..more so than Through the Fire and Flames

I've beaten the game on hard, but expert is just a tad on the crazy side. I've gotten through the first 6 sets without much trouble, but the last 2 are nearly impossible for me.

im stuck on the intro for "Holiday in Cambodia" on expert. I can't strum that thing fast enough.

btw, everythings that there is something in common between your RL guitar skills and your GH skills, but theirs not. Im the best guitarist in my grade at my school, yet i suck at GH compared to my friends.

GHIII has some great songs, but a lot of them are questionable (COUGH SLOW RIDE COUGH)

True, but at least for this version, the games are expandable. Activision is going to

release additional songs via the various Wi-Fi services on all the counsels, for a

small fee of course. For however many songs come out, I'm sure I'll just end up

missing them since I'm not really too interested in picking up extra content.

I picked up GHIII for the Wii, and I'm loving it, except, I can't get any multiplayer

action in until February because of the 'guitars are for bundle only' issue. ><

I can't wait for new songs, although I haven't got Suck My kiss yet because nobody else I know has Guitar Hero III for wii... I personally can play most songs on hard, I am now stuck on 3's & 7's and Knights of Cydonia. Dragonforce is pretty ghetto my friend.

P.S. I can only play a few songs on Expert. cough Bulls on Parade cough.

Whoa, I just found this thread. As Ellie said, I've already beaten GH3 on expert. Once I beat it (day 2, maybe day 3), I stopped playing. GH2 is better in everyway IMO. Song list, replay value, graphics, costumization, all of it. Recently I got my Log (5* all of expert) on GH2 and my 6th expert full combo. These days I stick mostly to GH2 and 80's. I play GH1 sometimes just because half of the song list is amazing.

My nephew got Guitar Hero for Christmas.  Not sure which version.  So far, I've managed to beat a few songs on easy.  I messed up every time I tried to tilt the guitar to get into star mode but then we found out that pressing a button will get ya there.

It has a name but I forget what it is.  (as you can tell, I'm hardly an expert at this.)

Down near the strum bar and the whammy thingie, there are two buttons.  They are diagonal to each other.  It's the one closer to strum bar, closer to the center of the guitar.

It only works when "tilt guitar" message is on the screen.

Oh, it's the select button. It releases star power as well. It helps in certain situations that i do not know of 3.gif Especially if  you can't get the hang of tilting the guitar up.

And, I'm quite proud of Eastwinn and his log guitar. 9.gif

It's very useful when your spamming through a wall of skittles ( 3.gif ) and you've lost all of the thought processes required to tilt the guitar.

What?! I usually don't bother with star power because it screws me up when I try and tilt. Maybe I can go beat it on hard now that I can actually use star power to bail me out..

How odd.  I wouldn't have thought that I knew something about Guitar Hero that wasn't widely known.   18.gif
