                                                                                Shin-Tokyo Renewed to...

                                                                                             Just Tokyo

Tokyo is by far one of the largest, complex, and unique cities of the world. The city that not only serves as the capital of the nation of Japan, but also the home to over 8million people, 40 million if you count the other 32million people living in adjacent prefectures and beyond in the Kanto region.

There are several major highways and railways that brings Tokyo to life. In this CJ I have worked mostly on recreating a living breathing Tokyo public transportation network. Most notably the Yamanote Line, and many other lines such as the Saikyo-Line, Chuo-Line, Shounan-Shinjuku-Line, and a hell of a lot more.

The Highway systems are also an essential link for Tokyo its suburbs and adjacent prefectures. The Shuto-Expressway has been delicately reproduced in this mind boggling CJ of a living breathing Tokyo.

Other than the above-ground visible elements of Tokyo are the countless lines of subways that link Tokyo together.

Regardless of the focus on Tokyo's transporation in this CJ I have also reproduced the many landmarks of Tokyo. The Imperial Palace, the Diet Building, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Station, Tokyo Big-Site, Rainbow Bridge, Roppongi Hills, and every single railways station, including subways.

    Enjoy, My Tokyo

Section One: Shingawa, Meguro, Chuo, Chiyoda(Southern Half), Minato Wards.

As you can see I am not quite done, but with this image you get a better idea of what the Tokyo Bay Area looks like, and the number of small canals, rivers, and inlets there are that makes the cities bay side ever so complicated. Once called the Venice of Asia, one can see why after constructing the canals. (Note: Not all canals were made due to the fact that they either exist under the highways, or are so narrow that their more like streams.)

Tokyo Bay. Much of Tokyo Bay is shaped by artificial islands. The orginal coast line used to come up to where Shingawa Station is today. In this image you can see the Kaigan-Shuto Line, linking Odaiba/Ariake with Ooi through the Tokyo Bay Tunnel (Tokyo-Kou-Tonnel). If you take a close look at the Odaiba-Ariake Area you will see Fuji TV and Tokyo Big-Site(Or what appears to be a very large building).

The area you see the large skyscrappers is Shinagawa.

Again we have here an image of much of Shingawa Station to the left, Tamachi, Hamamatsu-cho, and Shinbashi Station in the middle. We now have a better image of Odaiba and the Rainbow Brid

Its nice but if you really want to call this Tokyo then your going to have to get rid of the repetative Maxis buildings and Tokyo is know to be a city lacking in tall skyscrapers. Seems a bit rushed, take your time to work on the details. I'll look forward to more

Awe, I really liked the name Shin Tokyo. But oh well. Lots and lots of nice eyecandy pics friend. Transit system is crazy cool looking. Love the pics friend, but here ios some advice....

" When you take a pic.....click on the ( - ) inthe left-hand corner..this will remove the whole game tool bar.. Now, when you are ready for your pic.. just "CTRL + S and you can take a snapshot wothout the games tool bar in the way... Just some fun advice.

But your CJ is fantastic. 4.gif

Wow, this is really a challenging city to recreate, isn't it? But I must agree with Skyline22: Tokyo is mostly midrises. The skyline is really not all that spectacular compared with other large cities, and to think of Tokyo while looking at the Victorian-style buildings is a bit jarring.

On the other hand, the train system is unbelievably good. I'd kill to have that Tokyo Station BAT... Good job overall. I'm looking forward to your next update!

Good pics, but zots are makeing me angry. Here is my input:

    1. Use a road / street (or whatever) tile next to the station and it should play nice.

    2. If you have NAM (which you SHOULD) use a ped mall tile next to station (looks better than a street) hit tab untill you find one you like. (I recoment this option)

    3. Use "cheat" menu (ctrl+x) and type "tastyzots", however this may cause zones to dissapear too, which can be good or bad depending on preferance.

Yes you could use some custom content, but that will come in time. This is an ambitious project and you should be proud of your work!

Hope this helps and I am glad to answere any questions I can!

Heres a new pic of the region, with a little less skyscrapper, however I have left the Shinagawa skyline pretty much untouched. If youve been to Tokyo recently theres been a lot of new highrise development around that area. I'm still working on the area around the Imperial Palace, but as you can see the Palace itself is complete, fit with a Nippon Budoukan at the northern tip. I know theres a Yasukuni Shrine BAT somewhere but I couldnt find it, so I just built a park where it should be. Ive also run into some problems with the upper half of the Yamanote Line, particularly on where which line should be in relation to the other, and I didnt know that the Yamanote Line switches sides with the Saikyou Line between Ebisu and Meguro. I'd also like to attempt to sink the Yamanote/Saikyou Line between Yoyogi and Meguro, to try and get it as close to reality, and also the Chuo-Sobu Line between Shinjuku and Tokyo. Also having trouble with getting the Shinkansen to pass through Akihabara. due to the amount of elevated rail that passes through that station.

Oh ya can someone tell me how to take pictures without the annoying menu bar? The thing KingTitan told me only saves the game.
So in order to keep the menu bar out I have resorted to taking smaller pictures trying not to get the bar in.
