So, with all the talk about the next-gen consoles, which one will you buy? If you are undecided, either don't vote or go for the one you will most likely buy.

I will definitely get Revolution. Doubt if I get anything else; but I'll keep my mind open.

I still haven't decided yet. No rush... I'm still enjoying my Xbox and all of them are still far from being released. I like some things about each of them (from what I heard so far), so it will be tough to pick one.

Revolution? Please, Nintendo is already getting its ass whipped in the current console wars why let it suffer through another. The only realy competition is between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Although the Xbox 360 comes out sooner and has Halo (only decent game exclusive to Microsoft), the PS3 is much more powerful and has more and better liscensed exclusives. I dont know if you could tell or not either from my avatar or my comments, but i kinda prefer the PS3. Better games, better graphics, and better power, isn't that what we play games for? Plus due to  dual lazer and blue light technology, the PS3 games can hold around twice as much as both the Revoultion and Xbox 360. Trust me, ive studied them.2.gif

BTW. when Nintendo goes out out of business ( Gamecube<Xbox<PS2/ Gameboy<Nintendo DS<PSP ) most of its great abused liscenses will show up on future microsoft, sony, and hopefully a new Atara systems (rumor).

Whether I end up getting a PS3 or a Revolution first will most likely depend on what the megaman games start coming out for, though I'll probably eventually get both. I still have no interest in any Xbox System, though. Besides, Xbox 360? How corny a name is that? Frankly, I think they should have called it the X2.

Yeah, for second place.

Edit: Nintendo's purpose isn't to sell games to the richy folk who can afford a machine like the PS3 (But why they would want it I don't know), it is to make and sell games that a wide range of people can play and enjoy. People on low incomes can still afford to buy and play on a Nintendo console and not some over priced console who's only big exclusive titles are to do with cars and stealing. Nintendo (and Microsoft for that matter) have a wide range of games from shoot em' up's to platformers. From racing games to strategy. And most of them are exclusive and the gameplay is excellent.

Get him Muzz! 18.gif

Nintendo will not be going out of business anytime soon if ever. They have WAY too many exclusive titles that will keep it alive. Everybody loves Mario! (Normal people do anyway 2.gif)

PS3; no contest. If anyone feels the need to object to Sony being the all-around superior system, ill be more than happy to argue the case.

Better games, more power....what else do you need?

@Muzz    First, how can a low income family expect to pay 300 houndred dollars for the system up front, then 40+ per game? is your idea of wide range of people young children or immature adults still clinging to old Nintendo characters to reflect on thier youth? And the PS3 will not be that much if any more expensive than the XBOX 360 or the Revolution, so not just rich people can afford them ( middle class people like me can also ).

@mayor of tempest lake     Yes Sony is very unreliable, but have you boughten ANYTHING by Microsoft lately? Microsoft has actually overtaken Sony as the most money hungry tech company. Just becuase of the succes of halo (which isn't even an Xbox exclusive ) they are suddenly forgetting the hard-core gamers and are going to try to get more rich kids who play halo just to be called gamers as thier majority, major letdown.
@ Brownie    While IGN is a reliable source, it is the ONLY source ive found that says 360 is even remotly more powerful than the PS3.

It really doesn't matter to me which system is more powerful (even though PS3 is the most ) it is all about the games, not just liscences ( which the Nintendo company is based on ). I personally might get both the PS3 and the XBOX 360 if i get enough money working over the summer, or i even might stoop so low to get the Revoultion only time will tell. As of now i cant decide (though i hate Nintendo ).

Well, this has been a issue I haven't really throught about too much though I did watch some coverage on G4 (Curse Comcast! Another MTV Replica but I'll end there).

Looking at it from a realistic angle though, I will probabily get a Revolution since everything else in my house if a Nintendo system (GameBoy, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, DS, NES, SNES, N64, GC). The though of backward compatiability is really a catching point to me, along side just the Nintendo name and other factors. Even with all that, I wouldn't mind getting a PS3 or XB360 since they do look pretty darned good at this point.

First of all, NOBODY can say how powerful each system is until we can all play ACTUAL games on them. Just listing specs doesn't tell you much about how it runs.

How does PS3 have better games? Name some exclusive Sony games besides GTA. I'd bet nearly all of the good Sony games can be found on other consoles as well. Or at least an equivalent. There is no equivalent for Super Smash Bros, or Donkey Kong, or many other Nintendo games on other systems. Many of Sony and Xbox best games are racing and shooter games, which are basically all the same.

you Sony fanboys don't know when to stop do you?

I don't know why people are saying X/Y/Z has better games when IT IS NOT EVEN OUT YET. It is like saying teleportation will be the next best thing ever.

and yes, I am running Windows, and it has failed me many times; but I rather take a crappy M$ system than a even more crappy Sony system (i have seen enough failing Sony laser drives already -- 5 drives in 2 years and my 3 years old LG is still running)

Listing specs tells a little bit about how they run. The 360 has a six core processing unuit and the PS3 has a ten core. This will make a difference, but we'll just have to see how big of one it makes.

I am a Sony person, first of all, so I will be buying only a PS3. GTA is not an exclusive Sony game, as you can buy GTA III and VC of the XBox and PC and will soon be able to buy SA. Gran Turismo is an excellent series and is PS exclusive.

I think the PS3 will also do better because of its HD compatibility. It will run on all forms of HDTV and can be hooked up to two of them, while the 360 will only support 480i and 1080i (don't hold me to that one) and requires a second system to run on two TVs. Also, the PS3 will play Blu-Ray HD DVDs and the 360 can't, but that is only helpful if the Blu-Ray takes off (remember beta VCRs?).

Who has two HDTV's close enough to each other to hook them up to a console?

Better games is purely an opinion, and power means nothing if all the games are crap.

@EAGCE: That's because they can't touch Nintendo. 9.gif

I'm getting the 360, and that's that. Heck, GTA SA is coming to Xbox soon, so it won't even be exclusif anymore! And you go hide behide your petty Grand Turismo. Sure it's pretty good, nut on the Xbox we've dot 2 games that are worth at least as much as GT (Forza Motorsport & Project Gotham Racing 2). So if you're whining about the PS3 having better games, shut up.

BTW, Halo 2 isn't the best game ever just because of the gameplay. It has an amazing storyline and on Xbox live it's awesom.

Ok, for the person who was asking how Sony has better games; here you are.

    Gran Turismo series
Grand Theft Auto series yes, i know its on Xbox too, but who wants to play a brand new year-old game 34.gif
    SOCOM series

Those 3 are good enough to support the system on their own. Hell, the only decent game the Crapbox has exclusive to it is Halo.

The fact of the matter is, once again, Sony will win the console battle. Japan is outdoing everyone these days....
