Now that has to be one of the most realistic downtown/industrial area I've seen. The layout of the roads, highway, and especially that railroad is simply amazing. Plus, the building choices were excellent; they all blend very well together and fit into this kind of environment quite nicely. I like both region views a lot as well. Keep up the great work, because I sure cannot wait for more!

Hello, one and... all yes, am I alive! 16.gif

Sorry I have been absent so long, RL is hitting hard, Ive been going out of my head getting everything back on track. But the main reason I haven't updated in almost two months is my hard drive was cleaned off, all my documents including Sc4 have been erased. For the the past few weeks now Ive been re-building Springhurst as it was before the

crash using only the pictures Ive posted in this thread. Although I haven't had much success, so far Ive built  three or four different variations of Springhurst, but I just cant

seem to find a look I can be comfortable with keeping.30.gif Right now I can live with the it (with thanks to tomdapom, Mr. Beer and a few others for some much needed inspiration2.gif) and I have a few pictures of my most recent work...

    Springhurst, ON.

    A toki.s City journal

    Update 4

ok, so this is the current downtown view, this is the only part that looks like the old region, but improved...

    pic2.jpg

this is the north end of the downtown area, the bridge leads over the harbour, past the seaports and into Springhurst suburbs...

    pic1.jpg

and this is the west end, mostly old industrial warehouses, an old power station, and a lot of run down buildings and such...

    pic3.jpg

I'll have some more pictures in the next week, and maybe a region view, depending on how much work I get in. 1.gif

    FeedBack;

KingTitan: I hope I can build a new region that looked as good... but I guess we'll see once I have got everything up an running again... thanks for commenting!

    Khorasaurus1: thanks!

jacqulina: hopefully the waits wont be as long now, seeing as I have a something to post. hehe

granto93: am not a slowpoke! I just like to take my damned time here.48.gif lol... but yeah, don't quit sc4, or I'll have to take out the belt, if you know what I mean...

creepy. and about these so called 'frequent updates' I'm not making any promises at this point, but I'll try to get as many updates as soon I can now. 2.gif

    bbfan02: thanks!

    suplado!: thank you very much!

Alakazam: wow, you put that right out there... but anyway.. how would that work, seeing as... well, you get the idea... 41.gif ahem

rct3twins: lackofupdatesorinfrequentupdatesinacertainCJonsimtropolis-itis, eh? sounds serious, I hope it that didn't effect you to much due to my lackofabilitytoupdate...itis...? 17.gif

This is exactly the same as what happened to my old CJ, Hustle, MI! The new downtown is looking just like the old one, and I really like that bridge. Keep up this fantastic work!

Dude, you finally updated! I'm seriously amazed!3.gif The downtown looks swell. Just wondering, do you have a mod that makes more trees appear on streets? I see this too often now...3.gif

Edit: and I see you have nob's rail textures.

The fact that you managed to make an already good-looking area look even better after a crash is awesome. Your combination of industrial districts within downtown continues to work very well. Thanks for another excellent update!

Shorelines look fantastic there friend. And that mall i have just downloaded myself.. Dang, that was one download that had the most dependencies i have ever needed. LOL. Your design skills are deely up there with some of the best CJ'ers. Keep up the wonderful updates pal. 4.gif

Ok then, I got back to work today on the region, after once again demolishing parts of it, and I have an update well on the way, but for now I'll just show you the current state of the downtown area.

Ive added a few new buildings (maxis & custom) and I really like how it looks now, so I welcome you to Springhurst V6.2 48.gif

    Springhurst, ON

    Update 5 Teaser

    lll2.jpg

As for the full update, I will have much more pictures from the region, and a closer more descriptive look at the downtown sometime in the next 2/3 days. 2.gif

    Feedback;

tomdapom: Unfortionatly I missed out on your old CJ, its too bad it died before I got to it, but your new one looks really good! 3.gif thanks for commenting!

Mr. Beer: I took your advise and added a lot of new parking lots all over, and a few underground parking garages in the downtown core. thanks! 2.gif

bbfan02: thanks! old is the look I was hoping for, I love old historical buildings.

edmonton_stinks: yep, Im very comfortable with the new city, and I hope its to everyone else's likings.

Godzillaman: yep, I use the SFBT street tree mod, and damn do I love it, the same goes for nobs rail textures.3.gif

GreekMan: I may have sent you the link in chat, but just in case, click here. and the best way I find to building Canadian themed cities; think American, but cleaner, and build in a more rural setting, since most cities in Canada are surrounded with nothingness 17.gif good luck!

ky72x: meh, a crash is nothing, its dealing with nothing to work with thats tricky, I could have had so many updates done with at this point, but I guess its for the better.1.gif

    politicman: thanks a lot!

KingTitan: thanks! and trust me, that mall is worth the amount of dependencies, but I you'll see for yourself. I would probably be a better known CJ'er if I can update regularly, but there is also a lot of competition 45.gif thanks for commenting! 18.gif

    cheers!

    toki.

I like the funky shapes on those piers. It makes them look a lot more like wharves in old cities.
