Course I will... this seems closest thing we'll ever get to a perfect SC5... and the way EA has been acting lately, I guess we can wave Buh-bye to that franchise...

As long as the developers listen to us I see no reason not to. Its great to know my opinoins and the communities overall experience is being listened to influencing the building of this game.

As i saw on the official website of CU, we're about a year from the release of CU, this makes a lot of time to think about the game. And yes, they look to read carefully what the community is thinking and suggesting about the game they're making.

Don't know. Sure as hell not getting Societies. This would be my choice of the two. I'll wait and see.

I'm very excited about this game.  Monte Cristo seems to be sticking to the real concepts of city building.   The buildings so far are very beautiful and realistic.   Also they don't have the attitude that they are bigger than their customers. Yes, I will buy it.

Me: So far, yes. This game seems extremely promising and with expansion packs, I can only hope for more.

Also, a poll will not be added until we gain more knowledge just like I did with the Simcity Societies "Will you buy it?" thread. It would be premature to vote now.quote>

if it comes with your mom! lolz jk. Yea it loks pretty good.

No, at least not right away. Well, I was really going to say YES!, but I don't think my laptop computer can handle the game... Shame, really...

Ditto.  Screenshots really mean nothing to me.  The game could be filled with absolutely beautiful buildings, but if the gameplay sucks, then I'd still rather play SC4 or even SC2k.

The SimCity series has shown us that buildings can always be improved upon and expanded by a dedicated community.  Game mechanics and structure is the foundation that we build on.

So to answer the question, no.  What I have seen so far, which is a handful of "pretty" building models, does not warrant any praise or commitment from me...yet.

Also - a little aside - I have very strong doubts that the gameplay in Cities Unlimited will be nearly as enjoyable as SC4.  I don't think Monte Cristo can handle that large of a task, but if they can prove me wrong that would be awesome.

I think it may be pretty fun

to be honest, I've thought for a long time, since sc3k, that maybe the formula was getting old. If they can do it right, I am open to a new kind of gameplay.

Personally I have wanted to buy City Life but between my PC and also the lack of community stuff for it, I haven't.

I will not only buy it, but I would pre-order it if its available today. Judging from what's happening, I believe that Cities Unlimited will the the next-gen of Simcity 4.

I am going to say no until I hear more about the actual game mechanics. Most people replying seem to think that the graphics are making this game and to be honest, I am fine with how Simcity 4 looks. When I hear about the simulation aspects of the game and how it actually plays and how much it will allow for custom content I may change my mind. I am also playing A7 right now and between that and SC4, I have a pretty good combo.

To borrow my favorite quote from Pulp Fiction...

"Well, let's not start ... quite yet."quote>
(if you can't fill in the ... then I ain't gonna tell ya 3.gif)

My answer is the same as MC's ... "I hope so." I am optimistic, they do seem to be very attentive to the various discussions and suggestions, and seem committed to producing a truly top-notch city simulation. But I agree with Mogwai1313, the graphics are the least of my concerns. Honestly, SCS' graphics don't bother me at all, it's the complete lack of zoning, the pathetic lack of transportation options, and 100+ other things that keep me from even being curious about it. And City Life didn't exactly prove MC can make a city simulation as good as or better than SC4. Their devotion is admirable, and as I said I am certainly optimistic about the results; if the game is even half as good as their apparent devotion to the fans (something EA seriously dropped the ball on), I think it'll blow SC:S away. Will I buy it? Probably. But that's the optimism talking. We'll see what reality brings, in due time. There is no "yes" or "no" answer for me until it's on the shelves.

Will I buy it? Maybe. As others have said, I'm disappointed in the direction of SimCity Societies and while I actually understand the desire to "dumb down" the game for accessibility for a wider audience, I believe they cut out too much of the game mechanics like transportation networks that made the game fun for me. If Cities Unlimited can provide this element with a provision for fan mods and custom content to catch all of the things they miss 2.gif then I'm down with it. Of course, it probably means that I'll have to buy a new computer since my laptop can barely play SC4RH these days with all of the great custom content I use.

Hi Lucashp,

The game is not out yet as we are planning to release this game at the end of 2008.

Are you sure you do not confuse yourself between City Life and Cities Unlimited? 2.gif

I hope it is not like City Life at all. I would like to see the game play similar to SC4 with new features. I just played City Life 2008 and one thing I like is the scrolling in and the detail on the cars and people. Other than this I really could not get into the game.
