    Hey everyone,

I'm just stopping by to let you all know I'm far from giving up on this project and the reason for the lack of an update has been that awful thing called work that gets in the way of precious Simcity time!

Anyway nottheboss, penguin007 and everyone else, expect an update of some sort this weekend as I have come across some spare time and also more excellent BAT's that are begging to be implemented into the city. =]

ilikehotdogsalot Thanks for stopping by and offering your encouragement and I must admit having just seen Hanson's recreation it has inspired me to work harder in order to keep up! As far as the taxi generator, I'm way ahead of ya 3.gif that was one of the first things I got when I started the city.

So keep an eye out everyone this weekend as an update is finally on it's way!

Hey, I have no problem with waiting. The stuff you give us is high-quality, and that's what matters.

Ok, so it has been like waaaaaaaaaaaay too long since I updated this CJ, so long in fact that it should be criminal. The good thing though however, is that I have come across some spare time for the next few weeks, namely holidays and seeing how winter's starting to set in here, I thought it would be a great idea to make a few updates. So expect a few decent additions in the next few weeks.

A very accurate representation of Manhattan Island. I love Central park (in real life and in your copy).

Ok folks so here it is, the first photo update in over 6 months and about bloody time too!

    jjune4991: thanks for stopping by.

Godzillaman:   lol, better reserve your judgement, I've been out of the game for so long now, I might be a bit rusty 3.gif

Death54:  thanks, it took me a while to put that bad boy together, glad you like it.

First up we have a couple of shots overlooking a container port development I've been working on with the help of PEG's new port BAT's

Finally for this update, I have a shot of the Civic Centre, with Town Hall in Lower Manhattan. It's still a work in progress so there will be a few changes I believe.

Please feel free to leave a message and I should be back with an update later on in the week.

Ok, so I really don't know what's gotten into me this week, first off, before this week I hadn't posted for over 6 months and now here I am giving two updates in the same week, freaky I know!!!! Better not make it a habit, might have to take up smoking instead.

Anyway enough of my idle chit-chat, time to get down to the business end of things by firstly answering all your replies and then posting some new screens.

    lucky7: thanks.

jacqulina: thanks for the encouraging words.

gabry85: lol, thanks for the welcome back, it has been a long time and good to see you still maintained your patience and kept following my slack updates.

    mancoolman: thanks.

    un1: All because of PEG's fantastic BAT's.

Pedro Oso: thanks for the kind words.

    Twenty20: thanks for stopping by.

etherian: good to have you on board and for the kind words, more will definantly be on it's way.

    serebii666: thanking you

s_olah: I shall indeed include a region shot hopefully in my next update once I clean the map up a bit.

Now for today's update and the theme being Midtown's landmarks, first of all I'll show an overview of Midtown and how much it has grown since my last shot you can find earlier in the CJ.

    midtownmanhattanapr3211cf3.jpg

The next shots show zoomed in versions of landmarks in the Midtown area. Firstly we have a shot of the Rockefeller Center a lot I have touched up a bit with some additional props to make it more visually attractive.

    midtownmanhattandec1321uu4.jpg

Next up, we have a shot of the Radio City Music Hall where some of the World's greatest musicians have played and which is also part of the Rockefeller Center Complex.

    midtownmanhattandec2721nk7.jpg

Lastly for this particular update I have included a shot of the famed "Plaza" Hotel which holds sway at the South-East Corner of Central Park, now I myself am not completely sold on the building or buildings of choice I have used and am still looking for the perfect fit, let me know what you think anyway.

    midtownmanhattanjan9221lg8.jpg

Now I'm going to end today's update with a bit of a plea to all of you avid Simcity fans and that is to help me in finding a particular BAT, if it exists. I'm really wanting to complete the United Nations Plaza in my next update but without a United Nations Building it's not possible, so I'm asking you all, if you know where I can find one, please can you provide me with a link and it must be a completed building as I'm absolutely rubbish at modelling them myself.

Woohoo, my CJ is still here even after all the neglect I've been giving it lately 15.gif

I hope everyone who has been watching this CJ hasn't entirely given up on me because I am still working on my city every now and then, believe you me!!!!!

Before I start with the next update I'll answer a few of your replies.....even if they are almost two months old, lol.

jacqulina: thank's for the encouragement, always appreciated!

un1: very observant, but I do feel there are a few similarities between New York and Chicago styles and while I try and vary the building types as much as possible in my city, if I just restricted it to the New York style I'd have a city full of buildings I've used over and over and that's what I'm trying to avoid.

Kiwi n Grapes: thanks for stopping by and good to see another kiwi on Simtrop or at least I assume you're a kiwi, please correct me if I'm wrong, lol.

JasonB52: thanks, and I'm glad I'm on the right track!

gabry85: thanks for your continued support! Believe me I've already placed the MSG and it will feature in my CJ in the not so distant future.

    jjune4991: thanks mate!

Mike the Mayor: thanks, with so many NYC CJ's going on at any one time on Simtropolis it is important there are points of difference and I do hope mine does have a certain flavour different from everyone else's.

Alright guys and gal's it's time for the update and it is only a very small one for now as the other area's I've been working on are not yet ready for show and tell at this point in time =P

Also I'm going to leave the decision up to you the viewer on which is the best looking Battery Park. I've been working on it this afternoon and I'm in two minds on whether to keep the new design or ditch it for the old one.........but anyway here are the two pictures.

    manhattanfinancialdistrzx9.jpg

Now this first picture is the original Battery Park I had designed with a more natural looking harbour just covered by trees and although it isn't as realistic as the one in NYC I still feel it somehow fits nicely.

    manhattanfinancialdistrhm9.jpg

Now this next one is what I completed this afternoon and although it is more realistic, it does look a little sharper edged which may or may not be such a bad thing in this respect. I've also changed the park layout a bit as well and placed a few extra skyscrapers on the skyline to give it extra volume.

So I'm leaving it up to you guys, let me know what you think and whatever the general consensus is, I will ammend it in my CJ.

The next update I'll most probably release is of the Civic Centre which I did release a few updates ago but I just wasn't happy with how it looked and also possibly either MSG or Times Square depending on what I feel like attacking.

Anyway, please stay tuned and I promise I'll keep on updating when I can which will probably be in the not so distant future.
