After another long hiatus (This time induced by a computer virus and long hours at work) I am back to my citybuilding again. I'll be working on some new updates to my city!

Thanks for all of your kind words! I'm working on another update, which will also take place in West Douglas. Think Skyscrapers! I'm also adding a list of mods and buildings to the first post of the journal so that people can look for a few of these for themselves!

This CJ is looking great! I love the map as well as your building selection!

Keep on truckin' Jackie It's looking great! As for the trees, I've always tended towards 3 or 4 tree types for any particular forest since in the real world, you'll generally see the best few varieties in any one ecosystem crowd out the others. You can see in my CJ that I've got a pretty simple tree palette, but I think it works well.

Haha krbe, I'll forget I ever heard that. I certainly wouldn't welcome Lenin into any of my cities. I need to find me an Abraham Lincoln Statue... As for the airport, I actually plan on putting a few airplanes out on the taxiways, so I'll empty a few of the gates while I'm at it! Thanks for all of your comments! Douglas has grown so much that a much larger regional airport was needed. Here is a look at the new Douglas International Airport and the city that has sprouted next to it: Terminal A is home to the Airport's only 747 gate. The gate is operated jointly by the Airport's International carriers: United, British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France, Japan Airlines, Quantas, China Airlines, and KLM. Terminal A is also home to all other International flights to and from Douglas including those by Air Canada and Aeromexico. Terminal B is home to WestJet, Delta Airlines, and other domestic carriers. It is expected that this terminal may eventually be expanded to include up to 8 gates. Terminal C is the largest of the three terminals and is home to Alaska Airlines, Continental, Northwest Airlines, US Airways, and other domestic carriers. Alaska currently operates 7 gates, making them the largest airline in Douglas. United is second with 6 gates. The airport has of course, spurred the development of many new projects including this large airport hotel: The faith of this fast-growing city is kept strong in this shiny new megachurch called the "Life Christian Center." Pastor Charlie Kothe is known for his incredible sermons that have inspired more than a few Douglas residents to greatness. Agriculture has always been important out here, and it's no different now. Here's one of the many farms that carpet the landscape: The Douglas Department of Transportation (DDOT) operates a large transit center here in the middle of town: The DoubleDorra residential center is the talk of the town with its great design and upscale accomodations. Units are selling fast, so you'd better get one quick! Fishing anyone? Mayor Billingsley swears this to be the spot of his legendary catch, though his friends admit he might be telling a bit of a fish tale! Hey everyone! I'm working on a really big update right now, which ought to be ready by the end of the week. Stay tuned!

Most of the population in North Douglas can be found along the banks of the Eagle River. One of the many rail lines that cross through this heavily agricultural area, bringing the bounty of the hinterland to the large coastal cities. A small town has developed near the Billingsley Ranch, one of the most productive in all of SimNation. The North Douglas Clean Energy Farm is a huge moneymaker for the region. This particular farm includes 30 wind turbines and 2 large Solar Plants.

The American Auto Company recently built a huge manufacturing plant in Douglas. Here's a look at the northern half of the campus: The Douglas Marine Biology Center is home to one half of SimNation's most innovative and controversial businesses. Project Resurrection is dedicated to bringing back extinct species through careful extraction of genetic material found in fossils. These species are then sold to Zoos around the world for study and eventual reintroduction into the wild. Eagle Heavy Industries has been in Douglas for many years. Being one of the world's only manufacturers of stealth composites has meant plenty of profits for the company and the city as well. The manufacturing of such materials was classified until recently, which is why Eagle Heavy Industries chose such nondescript buildings. This is the GlobalTech Communications Centre. (Notice the fancy spelling chosen for this high tech campus) Most of GlobalTech's regional activities are based here as they can bring ships into the nearby port, then truck the materials or products elsewhere with ease.
