    Hey guys and girls,

Time for another update and once again it is of Central Park and this time I decided to show the whole thing over 3 screenshots just to show you how big it really is!

First of all I'll answer a few replies

topcliff Thanks for continuing to stop by I'm certainly not thinking of giving up for a long while yet especially when I start seeing progress myself. As fas as the tile is concerned I'll let you know once I finish one 3.gif

2nerdy4u Thanks for the comment and believe me I'll update when something is worth updating =]

jrhnemo Thanks for the support and yes you're right Manhattan is a little out of scale, reason being I find it more accommodating for my CJ and the ability to showcase more neighbourhoods on the one tile.

Mike the Mayor Thanks for the encouraging remark, good to see I'm on the right path so to speak.

jacqualina Thanks for the kind words and yes the park wouldn't have been possible without Peg's Ponds and the BSC parks pack among other excellent BAT's so I take my hat off to their creators.

    So now for the update.

This is the Colombus Circle end of Central Park and home to the Central Park Zoo in the foreground as well as the ever popular "Lake" to the right.

In this shot you can see the Museum of Modern Art in the foreground and in the background is the Museum of Natural History which I need to turn the right way around before anyone mentions it 3.gif

Last but not least is the Harlem end of the park which I think I may need to edit a bit in the future.

That's looking really good dude. The only I could mention is to turn the Met around. Kidding. I never realized Central Park was that thin! I thought it was, like, .75 miles and 2.75 miles. Oh, in a week, I'm leaving for the city. Want me to grab some pics for you?

    Aloha everyone,

Just stopped by to answer a few replies

topcliff You're right but I'm doing it to the scale of the map so it's just a smaller version. Yeah if you can be bothered photo's would be cool and feel free to post them on the forum if you want which reminds me I should show some of my 1000 shots I took when I was there for a week in April.

    penguin007 Thanks for stopping by.

Kusajika Yachiru Thanks and yes if it weren't for all the surrounding skyscrapers as reference points it would be very easy to get lost.

gabry85 lol, I'm sorry I didn't realise I missed you out in the last post I must have had a brain malfunction or something but once again thanks for stopping by and providing input it is greatly appreciated.

    2nerdy4u Thank you, I did my best.=]

Stay tuned for more adventures as the Big Apple comes to life!

Ah, okay. So it's the whole map, not just the park. Gotcha'. Don't worry, I'll take plenty of pictures. I'm doing tons of stuff since I only get one day in the city. The trip is for a family thing, so yeah. But, I'll be doing things like the Met, Guggenheim, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, and maybe even a harbor ferry out to Ellis Island. Oh, and Top of the Rock, of course. Later dude.

Hehe, no problem at all, Mr.quicks. I'm glad to see your excellent CJ! 2.gif

Please, could you tell me how do you make the central lanes in the avenues?

Very nice job on the park. Yes, I thought it is bigger than that. But, I like how you used the custom content on it. Looking forward to some more shots of NYC.

I agree about keeping in WTC until FT is built after that if you are still doing NYC you should replace them

    Hey Everyone,

Update time again showing off the development of Midtown this time but first of all as always answering everyone's replies =]

Bombshoo Welcome and I totally agree with you the Met would be a great addition to SC4.

nottheboss Thanks for stopping by and welcome!

topcliff Yeah the whole map is scaled down so in turn the whole city is also. I must admit I envy you right now, getting to go to NYC even if it is for just one day, have fun!

Mike the Mayor Thanks once again for stopping by and providing your input.

gabry85 Won't forget you this time 3.gif The centre lanes were made possible by a texture available on the STEX by ryanb_sc4 called the "Two Way Left Turn Lane Mod"

bbfan02 Thanks for stopping by again and I must admit if it weren't for all the custom content by all those excellent BATers out there, it wouldn't look anything like the real thing.

nottheboss I will probably keep the World Trade Centre there as it really does epitomise NYC for me and many others but once the Freedom Tower is released I will definately add it to my city journal for a period of time.

jacqulina Thanks for coming by and commenting again.

autoVino Welcome and thanks for commenting. The detail is sooo important when trying to replicate a real city and I'm making sure I get as close to it as possible.

This week's small update is a shot of how Midtown Manhattan is progressing with a lot of magnificent BAT's being showcased once again including the newly released XYZ buildings in the Rockefeller Complex.

Comments as always are welcome and I will be back shortly with another update =]

nice update and a good choice of skyscrapers - I'd like to see more greenery in the city - it would make it look much more pleasant 4.gif

    keep it up,

    Richard

your replication of the city is pretty impressive, i especially like central park. quick question, how do you plan the layout of the city? do you get a mapquest style map of the city and then go from there?

anyways good job with the city and cant wait to see what happens with it

Wow, stunning detail! It makes me feel like I'm atop the Empire State Building (well, almost 3.gif)! Can't wait to see 42nd street with Times Square (oh, don't forget the NYPD/U.S recruiting station 2.gif).

Will "Two Way Left Turn Lane Mod" replace avenue medians? Strange, your previous images have them...

    Hey Everyone,

Just stopped by again to answer a few replies.

2nerdy4u Thanks, good to see I've got a fair representation =]

    nottheboss Thanks.

jacqulina Thank you, it does take a bit of planning and a lot of searching for BAT's to get it right.

cleaner475 Thanks for stopping by and believe me once the city is finished there will be a good amount of parks and greenery.

squall816 Thanks for the comment and with regards to my planning, I use Google Earth, several maps I picked up when I was in New York and a fantastic book I bought called New York from the Air.

gabry85 Thanks, I'll be working on the Times Square area later on next week so expect an update on that soon =]. With regards to the od it does unfortunately replace the default median strip but only once it is laid over the original.

penguin007 Thanks for the comment =]

bbfan02 Thanks for the words and keep on coming =]

Well folks, i'll be back later on next week hopefully with an update so until then syonara
