Derrick T. Stanley was born in a lonely and islolated log cabin in the middle of the woods. He lived in a little village that only has a population of about 100.

    canyonlandsjan280012029kt3.jpg

He lived on a small dirt road away from town that leads to a mysterious river that has not been discovered.

    canyonlandsjan290012029fj4.jpg

Wildlife lived in harmony with humans at that time.

    canyonlandsjan300012029ab8.jpg

He built the only railroad system at that time. He also completed the longest rail tunnel.

    canyonlandsfeb200012029id4.jpg

One day, he stumbled upon the river we now call Stanley River and discovered it on October 20th, 1725.  He is honored for his efforts and accomplishments....

Thanks for the info on those plants Bbfan. I like the effects in this update as well as the railroads and plethora of trees. With the tint, railroads, and pristine wilderness, the pictures actually look like they're from the 1800s.

Wow, great wilderness shots. Apart from the distinctive maxis rail, they hardly look like sc4 at all! 9.gif

Great pix, a nice "gold rush" feeling, love the river! I like that rusty boat beached on the cliffs, great work with the flora! Excellent work with the "randomness" of the rivers in the region, looks very realistic! Keep up the good work! 4.gif

"The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay

if they'd put fifteen more miles behind 'er.

    They might have split up or they might have capsized;

they may have broke deep and took water.

And all that remains is the faces and the names

of the wives and the sons and the daughters."

    -Gordon Lightfoot.

Heh, I don't know why, but that rusty old ship makes me think of Lake Superior's wrath...

Great pics, they really look like old pics.

Just, 1725 is 100 years before Stephenson's rocket, AFAIK the railway area begun around 1840 in the USA ...

Hey everyone! Here is update 56! This is part 1 of 2 of Worchester's islands and reefs series!

This first update shows you the local reefs and shallow swamp areas. These areas hold a lot of history and stories. Many ships were marrooned and are still there today stuck on shallow waters. If you have any comments, questions, or tips for me, please, dont hesitate to tell me. i hope you enjoy this update!

Great bridge, and nice use of Fukuda's rusty freighter. Keep it coming!

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Haha, I can't take credit for the poem. It's from "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. I had to google it (but I can still hum it)9.gif Did I cite it?

Your reefs are great, by the way. Nice and reef-y.

Very picturesque area. I like the low bridge/viaduct through the area, kind of like the low bridges, that you almost feel like you're driving on the water, in the Hampton Roads, VA area.

Wow, those reefs came out very well. I would have never thought to do them like that, or at all really. Everything looked great, but I wanted to see the navy ship (apparently you put the same pic twice instead of that one). But otherwise awsome!

p.s. sucks to be those tankers... LOL
