    Guys, I'll start working on two new *yes, two but the other one is a long term project so it won't be that heavy* projects. I'm sorry there won't be any scrapers in my immediate list right now but I assure you I will bat one in the future. I will unveil my new projects real soon. 4.gif

    Hey guys! Just came back from my quick hiatus in batting. I started batting my latest and my 3rd project. It is named Project Resort. Yes, it is a resort and not just a resort but a beach resort. Well, our weather here is summer-like *supposedly it should be rainy season but the weather is extremely moody right now* so this inspires me to make a Beach resort *I kinda miss going to these places because it is really soooo relaxing*

    Overview

    Well, It will be on a CS$$/CS$ lot and will only be ploppable. I'm still figuring out if I will create a big lot for it or make it modular. There are 3 buildings ( and with an option to make another one) I'm going to bat.. Well, I just finish the initial model of the other building and currently batting the other one while the last one will be batted tonight *whew what a long sentence. 9.gif*. These buildings are Main building, Cottage and Recreational/Entertainment area. The optional one is something like this

    Note: The colors is not yet final but I'm planning to use yellow (but with a lighter one) and Brown(possibly a darker one).

    Comments anyone?

    hey pare nice start to this im rather interested what textures u will be using ....if youre going to use the spanish roof style that would really make the building have a nice filipino feel to it....cant wait to see more of this development

    wow man great looking building! and i agree with Filiasimo with the roof! & just a suggestion maybe add Coconut or Palm tree flora to give it more of the tropical-filipino taste

    Fila: yep.. That is what I'm looking for right now.. But will probably do texturing a littler later. i want to see more comments about it because there might be some problems that I overlook or something.. But anyway, thanks.. 9.gif

    davirus: yep! I was not able to mention it in my last post.. I'll also be doing some prop batting and Flora batting that includes a couple varieties or sizes of coconut trees and a bamboo tree. I might use the sc4's stock palm or n747's tall palm.

    Wow excellent job! Those will look nice for my resort areas! You continue to progress and i commend you, cant wait for more stuff from the PI!

    The new buildings are looking really good so far.  Some good texturing will make these into great BATs.

    For the cottage and recreational buildings though, the roofs look strange in some places.  Try attaching and welding the points together, and hopefully that will fix the problem.  If it doesn't you'll have to experiment with smoothing groups.  The smoothing groups are towards the bottom of the right pane when you have the roofs selected, and the area will have a table with a bunch of number buttons on it, and some more controls around it.  Smoothing groups control which edges will look smooth and which edges will look hard.

    To be honest, I haven't worked with smoothing groups enough to be able to say more than "click buttons until it looks good," but I'll be able to help you with getting the textures right when the time comes.  To start off with, read the tutorials in my signature about texturing.

    hey pare for this BAT you should add grassy hut textures since most resorts in the PI have a grassy hut as a roof. it will have more of an island feel to it. cant wait to see what you do with this

    I just finished texturing and adding a small details on the Recreational. As of presstime, I'm into detailing and texturing of Cottage and Main Building. I will post the images of it later..

    Jason: Thanks. Yep some areas of it especially on the corner are weird.. I encountered difficulties in making it. I use quad patches for it and actually it is my first time to use it.  I think that is the best thing I could do for now. Anyway, it seems the textures somewhat covered that bad area *hehe*.

    I'm still deciding which of three textures I will use.. Though right now, I'm inclined to use the "mid".. What do you think guys?

    I don't think brightness is a problem here. The texture is simply oversaturated, I guess. Try decreasing saturation by quite a bit and see what it looks like. 2.gif

    3RD BAT PROJECT UPDATE

    It's been awhile since I update you guys on my project. Anyway, Texturing on the three buildings are 99% percent done. I also batted some props and will be batting one more prop/building. I decided to make the flora into a separate project. I'm thinking of batting some rock formations and other flora. Anyway, I recommend you to use Goldiva's beach props and flora.. Here are the recent project images:

    COTTAGE

    NOTE: I tried T Wrecks suggestion of lowering the saturation of the roof texture. I lowered the saturation of the "Mid" Roof Texture and this is the result. It looks pretty good to me. I also added a few junks on it.

    MAIN

    NOTE: So here is the Main building. Man, it took me a long time texturing this baby. My PC seems have some difficulties on keeping with this. It is 99% done. The only I have to do is adding textures on the first floor and probably some more tweaking. Overall, it looks great hehe

    I'll be posting some more pics in a few days. These pics are the props I'm working on.. I'll start adding nightlights (well the main building has already some nightlights) once I finished all the batting and texturing. I'm hoping to start on that this weekend.

    those are very nice, but if to speak about the material for the roof for the both buildings , or put better both materials for the roofs It is not the brightness of it that is a problem, but saturation. try to reduce it cause that what makes it "glow". Dull it a bit I think it will be much better then. Another little thing that could be beneficial is to chamfer the edges of the roof of the cottage and then apply to polygons SAME smoothing group. That would deal away with that oddly sharp edge near the summit of the roof

    I also made some revisions with the roofing of the "Cottage". Replaced it with I think a better roofing and added that red something at the top of those roofing.

    Simfox: your statement got me confused but I get what you're saying. 4.gif about the shape of the roofing, in my latest revision, I remodelled it and use mesh smooth to smoothen the edges a bit (Well, at least not that sharp or something). I'm a bit concern about the corners. If you guys like it than before then I'll go for it. Regarding the materials, I did already lowered the saturation of it. Though I'm satisfied with the results, I'm still concern if it is still too bright or not.. Thanks for the comment. 4.gif
