Sure! We're always looking for new people to fill our ranks. Just go and join our region over in NationStates and then file a request here for a place on the map (see Simzebu's latest message for the map.) Welcome to Simtropolis.

Simtropolis Members are more then welcome to join our Region, we are currently suffering from a lack of nations at the moment and we are only recovering slightly. When joining just say what ST user you are :-)

(This is also the first time I have logged onto Simtropolis Forums for way over a Year)

i have posted this on both the headquaters and the forum thread.

Basically, i think we should allow more recruit saying that we are a region that composed of sim cities lovers, and whoever love sim city should join this region, if they widh to ,, of course.

can i listen to some of your opinion, a comment will be helpful

That sould be a little difficult to handle as not everyone would have access to this forum to post messages. They would have to be Simtropolis members to do so. which would (in a way) defeat the purpose of expanding our recruiting base beyond Simtropolis.

Due to recent discussion, I have archived the regional board here. These are the posts relating to this discussion that were viewable at the time of copying.

Archive of discussion:

Perhaps we should expand our recruiting base to include SC4Devotionquote>

i actually looked up nsdossier yesterday and kind of found out already. i agree that we should include Sc4devotion, and far as i know most sc4devotion member are members of simtropolis too, so basically that wouldn't be very effective. Also even if its not how ive described, like metropolitan houston said on the thread, they will have no access to the thread in order to leave message. which makes me stuck now....quote>

This is a difficult situation to be in, as SC4Devotion members can be the same as Simtropolis members (As Asiatic Land just said), we could expand to other Sim fan sites, such as ModtheSims2.com etc (Amazingly some people I know who play The Sims don't play Simcity), or we could promote on the NS Forum?.quote>

Expanding to the other sites doesn't solve the issue of access to the forum. If anyone wanted to join our region, regardless of what Sim site they're on, they'd ultimately would have to sign up over on Simtropolis before doing so. Unless someone's willing to host a completely new forum separate from the Simtropolis site, which would make no sense at all.quote>

That's the problem we have Met. Houston, expanding to other Sim fan sites may help with recruiting new members, but the communication issue remains, but I am sure other regions here on NS have there own forums.

How about setting up a topic on the NS Forums and continue discussion there and have a link (as well as a recruiting message) to the NS Forum on different Sim Fan Site Forums, if people are interested they would only need to register at NS not Simtropolis as well. It's a suggestion but at least it is something.quote>

The IDU has on offsite forum hosted by invisionfree. That's basically the standard of regions in this game. We could certainly do that, but then, would we really be the Simtropolis region anymore? I know of two other simcity based regions in NS, but neither are as sucessful as ours.

I see this going in one of two directions:

1) We stay just Simtropolis members only. Nothing changes.

2) We admit persons from other sites such as SC4Devotion. We start a single off-site forum for our region. In this event, we may want to change our name to "Sim Cities Union" or some such thing. I think that might be a good idea to draw in some more long-staying members. No offense to anybody, but this region has a tendency to have a lot of people who stay for only a few months.

The second option has grown on me. I think that might be the way to go.

Is oldfart still a member at ST? It might be nice to get his input, as he founded the region.quote>

Thanks Audland/simzebu for the Archiving of the Posts, we don't have to change the name of the region, but I am willing to support a name change if it happens 4.gif, the second direction could be the best option we have for the future of the region.

I would also like to listen to oldfart's opinion about this matter as well as opinions from other ST Region members (we could do a poll?).

Edit: I just checked that oldfart has not logged on Simtropolis since 11th of May.

Sorry for the double post.

Amerikaner, have you joined the region over on NationStates yet? I just looked at it and your nation wasn't there yet.

Hey .. SimCity Nation became a little too small and so I've decided to jump ship and join the Simtropolis Nation.

I checked out the wiki site, looks great, and so does the map of the nation ...wouldn't mind making a claim to the pink area East of Metropolitan Houston and South of The Digital Network .. although with over 5billion citizens I might need to gobble up some more land or expand with a few islands into the ocean east of the mainland.

Let me know what ya think and perhaps I can start work on adding a few islands to my nations border.

I used to have a nation before coming back to Simtropolis.

My nation name is:

The Constitutional Kingdom of Haivania but unfortunately, i can't move it because i am the UN Delegate of my friend's region although i have a 2nd region, The Republic of Goobergunch which is currently on one of the Pacifics and looking for a new home1.gif

Sim_Air: Go right ahead.

JanYpe: Welcome! Let me know if you want a spot on the map.

Fox: Sure. It would actually be easiest to just merge a few of the nations. Like maybe you could take both the pink next to Met. Hou. and the reddish-brown next to Audland? But if you want to draw custom islands, go right ahead. Post an image here in a lossless format (PNG, bmp, or the like. Try to avoid jpg, they're hard to deal with) and tell me about where you want it, and I'll do my best to fit it in. Or, I can sketch something up and put it in. Your choice.

I'm actually 2 different nations atm, I'm Macania in the ST region and I'm Macaneia which is currently region hopping.

Surprisingly, I'm one of the only original nations in the ST region...

Is this the current map? If so I'd like to locate Uytland on the blue peninsula to the north-east of 'The Digital Network'.
