I like it, how you recreate the places of the stories. The rail hub is excellent.

Bruce Wayne obtains the first of his Bat-Gadgets with the help of Lucius Fox, and hopes to establish himself as Gotham’s crime-fighting protector.

AceofSpades: Have you found it yet?

Benedict: Cannot comprehend "machine." Execute order #1423.

frogface: Hmm...is that sarcasm I sense?

football_fever: Never liked the guy? Oh well, he's one of my favorite characters. Glad you like Wayne Tower and the short updates. The reason they're so frequent is I have this entire journal pretty much laid out. The pictures are done, the story and captions are in Word, all I have to do is post 'em. The thing is, I have SO much done, that if I post one update per week, we'll be here for 5 years. 46.gif

BubbaGump: Another fan of the short updates. I like 'em too. Don't want to lose the readers.

John94538: Thanks, man. I'm glad you liked the train going through the tower. I noticed the BAT was an overhanging lot as well, so I plopped it close to the building, and voila! It went right through!

capitol1: Well you can't have everything in life.

Peng74: Good to see your comments as well, Peng.

    csgcseri: Thank you!

jacqulina: Thanks, jacky. And how are you today?

And since Benedict was curious to see an EL-rail/subway map, here's the Gotham City transportation layout (as seen from Region Census). The purple lines are elevated rail. As you can see, they intersect at one point--Wayne Tower.

Next Update: The Gotham City Police Dept., a Settings update that will introduce the city's corrupt cops, and a glimpse at one of the few honest ones...

Wow! Another fantastic update. But it's weird, that the bat mobile is a smaller tank in this series. In the films, it looked more like an upgraded car.

    Hi, SpecialEddie,

Holy Leapin' Llamas, Batman, this journal is movin' faster than that sonar-assisted, rocket-propelled, eight wheel drive, back-in-black vehicle we've come to know so well.  Ten days, a dozen(?) updates, and 127 comments (with mine, unless someone else beats me) later, my head is spinning.

So it's all done, all laid out, just waiting for us.  Why do I find that comforting?

Bruce Wayne, terrorized by bats, tragically bereft, permanently changed, temporarily evil, close to death, back on the rise, with renewed aspiration, takes on the survival aspects of the creature he once feared.  You have assembled all the elements to depict that very accurately and dramatically.  Isn't it amazing the adaptability of SC4 to illustrate?

As always, the little details, such as the railway under the tower, how you have placed those (I forget the name of the BAT, I think it's a museum?) buildings to frame it as tho they are paying homage to it, the frozen in mid explosion temple, the black borders to make colors pop, take it to the next level.

After a summer of almost perfect weather, it's getting hot here, so unless I'm escaping in the hills, I will try to pop in more often to give it a closer look.

    You go!

    Bye for now.

    --Liv

Holy CJ's Batman! Looks like were in for a treat!

This is totally awesome. Perhaps the best story CJ I've read (and I've only liked one other)

19.gif Yep, but they're based on exisiting stories.

Speaking of which, the story we're in the middle of now is from the Batman Begins comic book adaptation.

Well now that you've covered the gadgets, it looks like we'll see Batman soon enough!

And I like the hint about Gordon (?)  in the summary of the next update. Can't wait for his character profile.

The Gotham City Police Department, headquartered in Old Gotham, is a police department that no longer functions as a law-enforcement agency. Consisting of corrupt cops and officials, the GCPD takes bribes from the city’s mob bosses, and some officers are even paid to be hit-men and drug dealers.

Benedict: You're welcome, Benedict. I'm not just going to ignore a request from a devoted commenter.

csgcseri: Have you seen Batman Begins? This CJ is based on that movie.

Mikeaut1: Thanks, mike. I can tell you were enthusiastic about the update *counts exclamation marks*

Livin in Sim: Please, Liv. Just call me "Eddie." All this "Special" stuff is making me blush. *looks at username* Oh, nevermind.

Wow, ten days. Has it been that long? That means this CJ is averaging about 10 comments a day. I've never had a CJ be this popular before. Maybe it's the "one-update-a-day" thing. Yeah, that's it. But my favorite part about your post is this:

Bruce Wayne, terrorized by bats, tragically bereft, permanently changed, temporarily evil, close to death, back on the rise, with renewed aspiration, takes on the survival aspects of the creature he once feared. quote>

You've capture what this CJ is all about--the journey that this man takes. What drives someone to dress up like the devil, but ironically, to bring criminals to justice? I remember the director of Batman89 saying something like "it's good that someone from the shadows is on our side." That's what Batman is. Not all things associated with darkness is evil.

The "museum" you mentioned is by jtportland (as I mentioned). It's called Tjibau Rentals, but the one I used is Tjibau Cultural Center. I confused it in the first update, but I'm too lazy to fix it. Ha--me one-update-a-day, lazy.

Glad you noticed the black borders, too. I think you're the first to mention that. It really makes the colors stand out. Looking forward to more of your comments. I may have to nominate you for that "quality not quantity" category in the Trixies. You're posts are the most detailed I've seen on the site. I think Darmok will agree.

Your signatures are always entertaining to read, by the way.

flame1396: Ironically, I only read about a handful of story-based CJ's. They really aren't my thing. I hate reading long blocks of text on the internet. I love books, but not cyber-books, you know what I mean?

Zarp: I responded to your comment seperately. See above!

BubbaGump: Good eye! We'll be seeing Gordon in the next update.

AceofSpades: Yep. One of the biggest dissapoints on ST was when that CJ had to close.

GreekMan: *buzzer* Wrong. You probably don't him, but it's Ian Hecox from Smosh.

jutrock: Ass-kicking is what my CJ does. 3.gif

GMT: Thanks, GMT! Stop by more often.

    James Gordon

But if there’s any hope for the Gotham City Police Department, it would be newly recruited officer James (Jim) Gordon. A former sergeant from Chicago, Gordon is one of the remaining good men in the police force—one that believes honesty, integrity, and upholding the law is the duty of a true cop.

Ha, I knew you were gonna be showing Jim Gordon. As for the transportation map in the previous update--wow it's really complex. The freeways (They're red, right?) are well-laid out and they curve too! I also noticed the elevated rail goes over the water in far right side of the map! Wow!

Yeah, Wayne finally gets his Batmobile! I can't believe that this piece of military hardware is going to patrol Gotham's crazy streets. Crazy Bruce.

Poor Gordon. Hang in there old man!
