Corrupt files?

I have tried several times to download the latest version of the NAM. Everytime I do, it starts to download and then tells me that the compressed (zip) file is invalid or corrupt. Huh??? Can someone explain in simple terms what is wrong and how I fix it?

Just looked at mine.  WinRAR says there was an unexpected end of the ZIP file.  Send a PM to SAM.

Sam is a STEX mod.  But don't bother him.  I downloaded it again, and it is fine.  I guess there was some interference on the net.  Download it again.

I had the same problem too but I went to another website and it works from there. I don't remember the name of the site, its sim devotion or something like that.

I tried SC$ Devotion. I registered, but it won't send me my account activation email! I know it isnt being blocked as spam.

Try enabling cookies as well.  That seems to help sometimes.  But I can assure you the file is fine.

Hello people.  I was just having the same problem with downloading the nam.  it told me that it was invalid or corrupt.  I tried to get onto sc4devotion and never got the email confirmation.  BUT if you use mozilla firefox to download the file it will work.  click to d/l the nam, then, you will get the same error message, BUT this time mozilla saves the partial download.  click to d/l it again and it will continue from where the problem was.  keep doing this until you have the whole file.  I am not a computer person, I do not know why this worked, all i know is that i was discouraged and kept downloading it out of annoyance,  all of a sudden it worked.

Ive been downloading off the stex for 2 months now and this corupt file thing has just started in the last week

i'm also getting this corrupt .zip file when i download items from the stex, i've tried downloading the shanghai world financial construction site 5 times in the last 2 days but each time it says the .zip is corrupt. some items, i have to re-download because of this problem aswell, some of the pictures of certain items don't load either. i guess it's a problem with the new stex though.

I just downloaded that same file and Alzip says (Error: Error Header Corrupted) and I also download the Shanghai World Financial Center and it said the same thing.

I download the .zip file successfully, but when i try to extract, i get "no files to extract". When i try to open the file (without extracting) i get "The compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted." Bah! I throw a brick at this file! The other mods I have downloaded from this site work just dandy, and have given me no problems.

I very much need help with either d/l'ing the curent NAM as I have deleted my old one and now cant play cities without NAM, or registering at SC$ Devotion

What browser are you guys using?  It works fine with FF 2.0.0.4 running on XP SP2.

Downloading in Firefox is fine.  It's just when you go to open the zipped folder that you get an error message.

I have tried using IE5 and IE7 both time i get the same "corrupt" message. I have also downloaded at least 5 different versions of WINZIP and WINRAR to no avail.

I did manage to download it from SC4Devotion successfuly (btw, the confirmation e-mail is marked as spam for some reason) but there's a whole bunch of cool stuff here that I can't get (or can only get inferior versions of) at SC4Devotion. I've successfully downloaded only 2 or 3 things here, and it seems like everything else is corrupt or whatever. I doubt all the files on this site are damaged, so I imagine that there must be something unusual about the files that most extractors don't like.

Im having the same dang problem. All day today I have been trying to get the new NAM because i wanted the cars to stay and not disappear. But it always say the same error u guys have had. Compressed file is Invalid or Corrupted. I really would apreshiate some help.

It would appear there is a problem with the new server.  Please report this in the relevant Simtropolis Related thread with your:

1. Operating System (update) Version
2. Browser and Version
3. URL of the target download
4. If possible, post a snap of any error message (800 x 600 limit)

Things just got even more annoying to me.

Now whenever i try to run a sreach on STEX for Ex.landfill, rail, ect. ect. its says theres been a ULR# error.

Just ran three successful searches.

I am using:

1. XP SP2 completely up to date
2.  Firefox/2.0.0.4
3. Searched for "N_O_Body"; "McDonald";All BATs

No errors, just hits.

Please tell us more about your searchers.

I went to sc4 devotion, and after extremely tedious registration problems, I got to the LEX. When I downloaded the NAM, nothing at all happened. It started downloadeing and then nothing. I tried 4 more times with the exact same results and then it told me my download qouta was full!!

I keep having problems with other STEX items too! Corrupt files and such. It's like the Simcity universe is collapsing around my ears!

Ok N_O_Body how do I find any of the stuff you said and then,I can tell you what mine is.

sorry to be a little rud but this weired mess and SCS is getting me in bad moods.

By the way I am no longer getting URL# errors when searching so someone has fixed that appearently.

I.E. seems to be the problem. That is what I'm running, can't download. Anyone want to give me a fix so I can continue to use IE and STEX...

Master of Nukes:  You must know what operating system your are running.  Are you running Windows XP, Vista, 2000, NT3.4, Windows '98, Windows '96, ?  In Windows Explorer, the Help About page should tell you.

If you don't know what browser and version your are using, open it and go to Help/About.

If you don't know what page your are trying to download from the STEX, look in your address line and copy it.

If you don't know any more than this about your computer, it is time for you to take a short computer course at your school or church or community center.  There are lots of introduction to computers courses around.  You need to know more about your computer than about a car.  It needs a lot of user maintenance to run right.

Unfortuenately it still didn't work.  I guess IE isn't the problem.  For me it is just NAM that won't work.  Same invalid/corrupt message...
