If you don't know what browser and version your are using, open it and go to Help/About.

If you don't know what page your are trying to download from the STEX, look in your address line and copy it.

If you don't know any more than this about your computer, it is time for you to take a short computer course at your school or church or community center.  There are lots of introduction to computers courses around.  You need to know more about your computer than about a car.  It needs a lot of user maintenance to run right.

Thanks,

Unfortuenately it still didn't work.  I guess IE isn't the problem.  For me it is just NAM that won't work.  Same invalid/corrupt message...quote>

Wanted to clarify, it is the actual NAM Mod, not any of the plugins to it.

I'm confused by this problem, first I thought it was IE, but it seems to be only certain things for certain people, weird...

Firefox 2.0.0.4 here. The problem appears to be that the server is aborting the downloads prematurely (I just got about 4MB out of 10.1MB). Firefox is not reporting this fact, for some reason unfathomable to me at the moment. I started the download again, without deleting the corrupted file, and it started where it left off. However, Firefox (for some additionally unfathomable reason) silently adds (2) or (3) or whatever to the name, so you'd have to open that file instead.

Isn't open source the best? Heh.

ok all. thought i'd just chime in with my 2 cents. by the way, i'm using firefox 2.0.0.4 with all cookies enabled. i just did this (about 5 minutes ago) so hopefully it'll work for you guys as well. go ahead and download the new NAM. don't do anything else with your web browser while the file downloads. keep it open and keep it on the same page from which you are downloading the file. wait until the file is finished downloading and try to open the downloaded file. if you get the "file corrupted" message, deleted the downloaded file completely (even from the recycling bin... just to be thorough). then, download the same file again, wait until it's done, and check and see if the downloaded file is usable. repeat this process until you're able to open the zipped file.

what dpk said above is true. sometimes firefox (and probably IE7 as well) will say the file is finished downloading when it really isn't fully downloaded. if you download the same file again immediately, firefox will continue the download from where it left off.

again, i just tried this a few minutes ago and it worked. don't know the explanation behind it.
