Comrades! (Stereotypical, yes! But what else am I to start with??) Recently Sakhaliya has been going through some radical changes (yes, I said 'Radical'... why... do I sound like a Californian Surfer?). The nuclear program is on hold at the moment... they've changed plans or something, now we have Russian Nuclear scientest guy in showing us funky, yet intimidating rocket designs

If that ain't funky, i dunno what is

So, yeah... looks like my earring sized Nuke dream is out the window. The US and Europe don't seem to mind these plans... wich is funny because you'd think after saying to Iran and the DPRK 'Stop it, your scaring us!' they'd NEVER want such a horrible, diabolical Nation like Sakhaliya to get its hands of WMD's... no sir.

No duh...

The SIS Congress finally got completed this week and same with the new SIS Pravda Newspaper press Group building! Along with many other posters that have been set up around Khabarovsk and the completion of the Ameripean Consolidated Embassy towers 2 weeks ago, the city is moving up in the world in leaps and bounds! First of all this week, we had to clear a massive space in the Starygorod...

Concequently, we had under-estimated the size of the construction and a further 4 blocks of homes needs to be demolished

We got there in the end though... holy damn did we do a good job... not bad for some prefrab concrete and matchsticks....

Inside its not to bad either. This is the picture of the first Congressional meeting of the SIS.

Second builing to go up this weeks was the Pravda Press Group. This mean clearing the exact amount of space near St.Vabka's cathedral

Luckily, this was the PRECISE amount of land needed for construction

And now, apparently this building has the largest window's in all of Sakhaliya... (most probably a scale error on my behalf)

Above the Towers are 2 MASSIVE propaganda posters, just near the entrance to the Starygorod Kremlin.

Fantastic! You've really given this place a realistic feel and I always enjoy your narration. This is the most all-around entertaining CJ at the moment, IMO. The Pravda building looks great, as does the gaudy commie temple thing... Would be good to have the original "Univermag" version too, if you feel like it. When do these hit the STEX by the way?

Tomdapom- I dunno if Glenni has updated Vandal Fjella yet, but take a look... he's based his Russian border cities off REAL North Russian cities called Monchegorsk and Nikel... the resemblence is alot more depressing than this To be honest, these guys have it pretty easy... lol.

JanYpe- Thanks! I would have batted it to scale but theres only so much Gmax can take before it crumbles in a heap and dies.

Penguin007- Yep, nothing says 'Obey me' more than an oppressive  Neo-gothic Temple filled with Communists... lol...

Schulmanator- Mwhaha... paranoia strikes ye down! I think we're all being watched really... unless you live in Schulmania where you still haven't discovered a means to produce mass Electricity... wich in many ways, is a good thing.

Simfan34- They are indeed alive and well! Although... its quite twisted in Sakhaliya. Lenin is almost a biblical figure there, he is God and Uri Buriya is the Son of God... there for, you worship Lenin and live by the rules of Buriya. Very simple...

Pnorrel- Good question. I was refraining from putting them on STEX  untill I work out how to work Ilives reader properly so I can make them functional CO$$ with plenty of jobs... the Congress is fine but the Pravda building could do with some night lighting fixes (the massive windows have really nasty night lights) and theres a texture error at the back (wich is my fault, lol).

Fantastic city-building, El Burro. The custom BATs are wonderfully done and well-textured. Creamy is a way to describe the texturing in the Congress building.

OMFG please tell me your gonna release this stuff...its quite possibly the most amazing things ive ever seen batted...i LOVE your style so much and all these russian style bats that we seem to be missing...AGHH you should do some flats...those would look REALLY cool if you did them i bet, like that birthday cake...for a minute i thought that was a new version of it agian lol...stalin would look a little akward on there though...it would kinda offset the whole thing...maybe though if it wasnt like 20 stories or however tall that building really is (btw i love how it looks in your city, it fits so nice i dont think anybosy else could of pulled it off) great job my friend i will be back ...btw im lovin that library

Amerikaner - All in good time... I've been screwing around on Ilives trying to get them to FUNCTION like acctual buildings but so far, no dice.

The Library on the other hand... well, that ones finished and i'll probably release it soon

Zelgadis- Ah, the Niche market! Yep, not really much in the way of Soviet Era stuff on the STEX or... anywhere for that matter. Its nice to see SimFox is doing Hotel Ukrainia though... I can't wait for that!

Seahawk fan121-  Yeah, thats generally who its aimed at... its a very niche market (as Zelgadis pointed out) and won't appeal to most people... I want to prove that you don't need massive amounts of skyscrapers to have a good looking/realistic city... but this often means having to make custom Lots and BAT wich are taking up quite some time with this CJ (hence the small, oddly timed updates)...

I've taken a break from Khabarovsk this week (the city KILLS my PC), and decided to finish off what I'd (half) done in Byernosk (an Industrial Suburb of Khabarovsk)... i've been lotting alot recently but its still not enough it seems. I've also completly wiped my Plugins of all these annoying UK suburban houses (AT LAST! Bloody suburbia) that I used to use in Siberia...

Heres a small teaser... its not much as I don't want to give too much away... Byernosk it pretty small that the moment (9,000 Citizens... 30,000 Industrial Jobs... lol) and half of it i've had to destroy coz, to be honest, it didnt look much like a communist state to begin with...

Holy Jesus! Its pandemonium at the USCN!

Don't worry... the Sakhaliya in the USCN is the same Sakhaliya as here... but its a totally different setting (This Sakhaliya is set in the real world where as the USCN one is something of fantasy), the more millitaryistic ways of the USCN will most probably make me build along the coast, bat more millitary stuff and obviously, increase the Sakhaliyan Armys influence.

Also, we should be seeing a healthly amount of newspaper reports coming back from Sakhaliya as I've just finished a newspaper template-
