Theres an Ontario in California, USA? LOL! Actually I live in London, Ontario, Canada! We gotta stop reusing place names to avoid confusion LOL!

Anyways, heres a aerial photograph of a complex interchange with Highway 401 in the Greater Toronto Area (Pop: about 6,000,000)

And heres what Highway 401 looks like in the London area (Pop: about 500,000).  Nothing too fancy, but there are a ton of safety features.

Here are some pictures of Singapore's expressway network. (note: I did not took these pictures. All credits should go to the person(s) who took these pictures)

This is a section of Pan-Island Expressway, Singapore's longest expressway. It is unknown who took this picture.

This is a section of East Coast Parkway. A section of this expressway acts as an emergency runway. Credits should go to Terence Ong from Wikipedia.

This is Central Expressway, Singapore's most expensive road (because this road is a tollway). You will have to pay about S$6.80 just to enter & exit this expressway. Despite that, Central Expressway is also one of Singapore's heavily congested road in Singapore, sometimes the traffic comes to a standstill at peak hours. Credits should go to Sengkang from Wikipedia.

This is Bukit Timah Expressway. It is also part of the Asian Highway network. Credits should go to Calvin Teo from Wikipedia.

The two tunnel entrances that you can see here (the other entrance is somewhere near the left-centre part of the picture) are the expressway's exit & entrance to & fro from the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway. A section of it is expected to open this year. The expressway is also the longest subterranean road tunnel in Southeast Asia. The KPE is also believed to be the world's sixth longest underground road project under construction. Credits should go to Sengkang from Wikipedia.

Wow! Aranho! Those expressways in Singapore look beautiful! I love it when there is landscaping/beautification used on highway networks because it turns the highway into a work of art! When some people think of freeways they think of dirty, polluted, congested urban arteries. This is the exact opposite of this!

The pics I've seen in these two pages are some of the best pictures of roads I've ever seen. Canada was the best of 'em all. Being in the old-dilapidated India, I find these roads to be really drooly stuff. Hehe...

wow singapore is beautiful... i went there once and i was absolutely stunned... its gorgeous...

but wat can you expect? the laws there are so strict... so of course they wont have littered and ugly highways...

btw... how old are those dallas pics? the 75 - 635 interchange looks old in that pic (and as far as i know no one uses the term high 5 to describe it anymore) there are two types of pillars there nowadays... the red and yellowish ones and the green and gold ones...

i wish i knew how to post pics... US 75 is a beautiful sunken highway just south of where I live and theres much much more development now...

Hey everyone,

Its been a while since an update here so I thought I would break the ice!

I was just doing spending some free time on wikipedia, and I found a great article on highways from around the world.  Believe it or not, its just called "highway", and has good descriptions  and pictures from highways all around the world.  If you do a search for "freeway" or "expressway", they are very Americanized, and don't show a worldwide view.   Anyway, heres the link and I hope you enjoyed it.

This is a junction on Interstate 70 in colorado that take you to either in to denver by wadsworth Blvd or the rocky mountains and Grand Junction which is in the west.

THis is the Dwight Eisenhower Memorial tunnel located on Interstate 70 in colorado. Above the tunnel on the mountain is ski runs that is owned by Loveland Ski Area. During the winter this tunnel is your worst nightmare because tons of people rush to the mountains to ski.

Heres the busiest road where I live, Shetland, Scotland, UK. There are a total of 2 proper roundabouts 3 sets of traffic lights and a mini roundabout in the whole island!

Atlanta isn't known for it's bridges, or scenery... a recent article said that Atlanta has the second worst traffic in the nation (after Washington DC) when you amount for how long people spend in their commute. There isn't anything too notable, other than whoever planned the transportation here in the mid-20th century didn't anticipate such growth, and so the highways can't serve the region adequately... (the pictures aren't mine, I found them on flickr!)
