hmm.. London perhaps. It has a lot of nice old European and British architecture, and newer skyscrapers and office buildings. It would have been my favorite city to visit wasn't it for the bad weather, expenses of living there and uhm... the food 3.gif

    take care,

Either London or Paris. Both cities are very similar in some ways and contrasting in others. The arcitecture is diverse in both and bothcities have their impressive skyscrapers.

Sevilla, Spain... Santa Cruz Jewish quarter in the 1400's, if old times counts... lol

Lisbon has a nice old quarter with really skinny lanes...

I believe Singapore has beautiful colonial architecture also...

I liked Barcelona too, but I gotta go with Vancouver for this, the architectural style around the waterfront is magnificant, as well as the downtown area and the rest of the city. They are also gearing up with even more projects for the 2010 Olympic Games, which includes more, extremely modern hotels, arenas/stadiums, transportation, and tourist attractions.

In terms of architecture I love the post-modernist look of London. I like the elegence and continuity of Paris and Tolouse. But most of all I love the British industriallism which is prevelant in cities such as Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester. I think it looks divine.

I left out Madrid and Rio de Janeiro for some reason. Madrid maintains a beautiful look with its old city and architecture, quite a lot of the city actally happens to be of French influence, buildings like the Metropolis building on Gran Via.

Rio de Janeiro, I know iscompletely different but the setting of sea to the east and lush green mountains to the west and lovely sandy beaches, the white flats an apartments look lovely. Brazilian colonial buildings are very elegant too.

    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if there exist different building styles that we can download, other than the 4 available in rush hour?

    patriots: me too lol

My favorite has to be Hong Kong or Singapore. Nice areas of Honolulu are cool too. Lots orf strange buildings there. Minneapolis has a nice selection of modern buildings too, but we'll never have another tall building again 15.gif they want the IDS tower to stay number 1. Time to add on lol.

The mixture is what makes a city have awesome architecture. When you have stuff that all looks the same it kind of just sucks!

You know what I reckon? We all have our favourites and none of us has seen anywhere near enough of the world to make such a grand judgement.

However, I love to see the passion aroused in ST members about architecture...I swear you can learn more here than you can on a dozen academic websites. Fair play to you all...there is much to learn from what is voiced here. I enjoy every post.

I think Melbourne Australia because it has a mix of the old heritage and then the towering of modern skyscrapers. Its has a good mix of the old and new
