Athens, I would have to say. Every time I see that city I just stare at the picture in awe (since I have never been there myself 15.gif ).

Wow, only one vote for Amsterdam???

I love the tiny intricate buildings. You can stand in once place and look at 10-20 different examples or architecture. The city is a beautiful example of how to solve the problems with density and aesthetics. The city is functional and beautiful at the same time.

Also, Switzerland is quite cool architecturally. I've only seen Basel myself, but I love the old all the way up to the new...it's almost as if they cities developed totally naturally over centuries with no warfare...weird 3.gif

Has to be Chicago, from Queen Anne to Neo-classical/Neo-gothic, to Art Deco, modernism, brutalism and postmodernism its a showcase of every era of architectural style. A rich and varied skyline that will, in my mind, never be matched.

This is The Historic 3rd Ward, a bunch of old warehouses that have been converted to condos and businesses. It's also home to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD)
