So the MAPP has been out for a while

Now it is time to show your theme parks starting with mine

SolarianCity-MAPP.jpg

This is Solarian International Theme Park (soon to be rename Park of Solaria Internationale)

This half completed theme park sits on the banks of Solarian Harbour in Solarian City - southern Solaria. The main entrance is to the right with the bus entrance next to it. A secondary entrance is located where the pools are with the temperoary entrance to far left. At the time of this only that single 2 lane road connects the park to the motorway but now two avenues connect to it with greenspace, harbourside and further retail development now filling the space. Further expansion to the themepark will happen to the left and top of the picture.

Hey thanks, Palp. I pretty much threw it down to get the MAPP done. I don't even have a parking area. What it does have is pieces of the modular zoo & aquarium set. It fits pretty well with the MAPP.

I know many many other people made MAPPs...post them, dengit!

And in comparison to the city.

that's great, tomdapom. I think I need to follow domeston more closely...that city looks pretty fantastic as well. Although how would you like that house right behind the roller coaster? No need to set the alarm clock. Screaming kids at 8am will wake you up every day...

This was my first real attempt at the MAPP, im definately doing a redo of this later but for now ill show you what I have.

One more zoom level and youll see alot more detail, eg: lamp posts. Next version will definately have alot more parks and aesthetics.

C'mon people show me your parks and give me some ideas!

Some really interesting choices shown here!  I never thought to add Landmarks to the amusement park but given they way they are these days, that makes perfect sense.  Here are two shots of mine...I need to redo this I think, if nothing else to move the parking lot.

I've been working on a city-sized amusement park and resort for the past couple of months.  The amusement park itself is basically done; now work begins on the rest of the resort.  It's vastly more complex than the pictures I posted last year.

Much of this has been revised along the way, but here are some of the latest developments. The city name (both the resort and its surrounding town) is Bosphorous Concourse.

Part of The Haunted Concourse (a giant 'haunted house').

^ You've done a good job, very realistic. Especially the 3rd picture.

Nice jobs, everybody - having made a tiny contribution to the MAPP myself, I enjoy seeing that all the stuff we made back then is apparently still used and liked by some players. 4.gif

If I may suggest a few things as a little challenge to you MAPP makers:

    - Try breaking the grid a little - [shameless self-promotion] for example, I have made some diagonal fillers for the SFBT Team that would go well with the MAPP lots - maybe I should upload those to Simtrop, too. 41.gif [/shameless self-promotion]

    - Try to move away from perfectly flat terrain - for example, I'd love to see a scenic amusement park nestled into a hilly landscape, maybe with a main entrance and some attractions down in the valley, and a ferris wheel straddling a little ridge...

    - I've seen road and rail tunnels under airport runways, but how about a main road diving under an amusement park? There could be pedestrian bridges to allow the park visitors to cross the road in order to reach the other half of the park. Instead, I see many roads cutting the amusement park in two.

Just thought I'd mention these aspects as an inspiration for you guys & gals. 1.gif Keep up the good work and have fun!

I got all that from SOMY's web site, members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/somy000/index.htm--you'll need to browse a bit to find them.  Possibly they are on the STEX as well--just search for SOMY there, a lot of his stuff has been reposted there.

Edit: I should say I got all the main hardware pieces from SOMY's site; I made my own lots as well--the one acting as an entrance with the airport tower, and all the tarmac and fence lots.
