Excellent port and industrial building, Mike. Although I would have prefered to see more custom content in the area, it still looks beautiful. Of course, I'm so used to having a boatload of industrial BAT's in my cities. 3.gif The aquarium was placed in a perfect area and the preview for Woodhale is very, very promising. Keep up the nice work, can't wait for more!

The Port Medford industrial area is really nice and realistic. I also like the big-dig tunnel going under it.

I like the region view. The skyline in correlation with the stadium looks very realistic. It reminds me of Houston or something!

    Capital - Everett

Size - 30 miles wide by 52 miles long

Geography - Forested mountains, large plains, rivers, seashore

    Highest Point - Mount Merrill

    Largest City - Everett

    Population - Undetermined

    Main Religion - Christianity

    Nationality - 92% Italian, 5% Greek, 2% Irish, 1% Polish

    Economy - 75% Tourism, 15% Manufacturing, 5% Fishing, 5% Forest Agriculture

    History

Woodhale was captured by the SimEnglish in 1711, but thousands upon thousands of SimItalians fled to the small little country in search of work and better living conditions. With mountains to the north and seashore to the east, the area was favorable for the many immigrants passing through its borders. Today, Woodhale has developed into a prosperous small republic, with tourism and manufacturing the top economies. The population remains highly Italian. Woodhale is also a peaceful nation as well, going only through one war, with Jargeah. But now, the there is peace between the two.

    Geography

Woodhale's geography is very important to its growth. To the north, there are the meandering Fairfax and Elroy Rivers. The main river that flows through the north and out to sea is The River Ai. The north is also characterized by heavily forested mountains and small valleys. Within these small valleys, there are little towns that base their income off agriculture; mainly the growth of orchards, apple, orange, and pomegranite trees. Woodhale's central region is very flat, with many lakes, including Lake Afrago, Lake Hathaway, and Dolan Lake. The south is very flat as well, but a small mountain chain picks up right along the Acola River. The seashore is prestigious along Woodhale. The northern beaches are pristine, forested with West Cedars. Towards the middle and south, Sills, Seavenseas, and Chestnut Bays are backbays along the outer banks.

That's it for tonight... but tomorrow I will start some updates on EVERETT, the republic's capital!!

    Comments are really appreciated! 9.gif

Woodhale looks amazing. The mountain ranges have a great amount of detail and the freeways are pretty realistic. I also like the lakes that dot the region. Can't wait to see Everett!

    The City of Everett, Woodhale

    Flag.jpg

Welcome back to Woodhale everyone! Today's update will be focused on Everett, the capital city of Woodhale. This will be PART ONE of TWO of Downtown Everett! Enjoy!

Everett is Woodhale's largest and most important city. The downtown business district is quite large, packed with highrises which house corporations and large businesses. Everett sits in Woodhale's flattest region, between the western border and the ocean, 30 minutes to the east.

    Transportation Networks in Everett:

    • EVERETT EXPRESS™ (Subway System) - Everett Express is a heavily used subway system in the city of Everett. A map of Everett Express will come soon!
    • EVERETT TROLLIES™ (Ground Light Rail System) - Everett's heavily used ground light rail train system completely circles downtown. It is used more by tourists rather than commuters, and it has 4 stations, each named "north, south, east, west" around downtown.
    • Roads, highways, one ways, buses, and an airport too!

Here is Everett's downtown. Not too big, but not too small, housing many commercial offices.

    Heritage Square

Heritage Square is the central point of Everett. Here, Hathaway Blvd, Carmen Ave, Osborn Ave, and Everett Ave, which are major thoroughfares, meet at one roundabout. The center of the roundabout is the major subway station in the city (all subway lines meet in this one location) and the main hub for the bus stop. The Heritage Square area is known for its great shops, restaurants, and proximity to the major downtown highrises and the little Theatre District.

Here is a diagram of Heritage Square showing the heavy use of the subway lines inbound and outbound into Heritage Square Subway Station. The yellow lines represent the subway paths.

Right now, over 3,000 people per commute use the Heritage Square Subway Station!

And here is Everett's official DOWNTOWN MAP!!

Kinda reminds me of Toronto's downtown...except without a large tower, a lake near it, and a lot less 60's immigrant apartments3.gif.  That Blue maxis building, I forget its name, is it the tallest there?

nice downtown, and I also like how everything flows into the next stage. Skyscrapers to medium buildings to houses, that's very realistic.
