I'm liking:

The way you created areas by lining the edges with topiarys,

The government area,

That stadium,

Woodhale sign (clever!)

All those houses sprawled around,

and the way the skyscrapers flow down to medium rises, then down to suburbs. It's a great effect.

I'm disliking:

Uh, nothing. 44.gif

    Suburbs In Style

Welcome back to The City of Everett!

Today we'll be focusing on the suburbs. These are the areas just outside downtown, and the subways reach into them.

These are highly photoshopped pictures. Please allow them to load. 4.gif

Gaw, that purple one done something to my retinas I think (only kidding) The suburbs are Amazing with a capital A, and the office complex is quite simply....spot on. But I think the photoshopping is questionable in some cases lol.

Thank you for all the replies! Maybe an update later tonight, if not, then possibly Friday/Saturday!

    penguin007 - Thanks!

Godzillaman - Thanks, and I'm sure it can. There is parking underground too! 2.gif

SpecialEddie - Thanks, glad you like it!

Teeparex - Thanks, glad you aren't disliking anything! 3.gif

    sEAhAwk fAn121 - Thanks.

sammerhammer747 - Thanks, glad you like it! Not sure who built that stadium but it sure is an old model on the STEX. And its not replicated after anything I dont think.

Benedict - Thanks, glad you like that subway map!

    Droftrah - LOL, thanks!

suplado! - Thanks, always gotta have a city park and arena. 3.gif

cleaner475 - Thanks, glad you like the swimming arena. Simgoober's work is incredible.

MadTV_Freak - Wow, thanks for that comment! 3.gif Glad you're speechless after it. And sure you can use a few tips, although Sweetwater County isn't really in need of them! 3.gif

belfastuniguy - Thanks, glad you notice/like the greeness. I like implementing lots of green into my urban areas. 4.gif

    cleaner475 - Thanks yet again! 4.gif

Teeparex - Haha I'm a newbie to photoshop! 3.gif But thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. Glad you like the office park.

zelgadis - Haha, thanks. Intermodal Expressway is an expressway heavily used by trucks and it links the airport to the piers that will be in Bellhaven (the next city tile over). Check back for updates of the Intermodal Expressway. I named it "Intermodal" because it encompasses a large amount of traffic and transit routes to connect important industrial areas in Woodhale. Also because I like the name. 3.gif And I deal with freight at my job and you can call intermodal lines. Okay I'll stop blabbering. 3.gif

    suplado! - Thanks!

    Skram - Thanks!

colin1234 - Thanks, even though I'm such a newb with photoshop. But I have to thank Boggy1 for teaching me a few lessons. 4.gif

    KingTitan - Thank you!

LilFlipper - Thanks, glad you like them, and Heritage Square!

Psycho_Teddy - Thanks, I try to use a nice variety of Maxis and CC.

sammerhammer747 - Yeah that is on the STEX. I'll PM you the link to it, because I'm not sure if its on Simtropolis or SC4D. But thanks for your interest in it, and they do enhance the look of the suburbs. 4.gif

penguin007 - Thanks, glad you like that pic!

    UPDATE SOON! ...

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THOSE NICE COMMENTS!

Man, I sure missed a lot! You have really been showing some amazing work lately. The editing in the last update is excellent! Intermodal Expressway is a pretty realistic thoroughfare. Like a real expressway, there's not too many things along it. The trees in the suburbs look good. Nice downtown shots as well, the edited one was my favorite. Keep it up! I'll try not to miss that much any more. 3.gif

Very nice work! The suburbs remind me of where I live, lol. I especially like the addition of the Metro Mercy Hospital; it was one of the first STEX uploads and certainly one of the best. I don't see it enough in CJ's and it's always great to see it again. 4.gif

whoa, such sprawly-ness! the suburbs remind me of the ones we have here in jersey; all of the towns seem to blend into one HUGE sprawling suburb. and i like the downtown areas; very vibrant at night. great work!

    Welcome back to Everett!

Today we are looking north of downtown at the Everett Larks Stadium, which is a baseball stadium for the EVERETT LARKS! YAY! 3.gif

    The grounds.

    Everett-Aug18511192822482.jpg

Parking lot crowded for a baseball game!

The other arena in the complex is WOODHALE WORLD ARENA, a huge arena where international soccer teams play, circuses are held, and big big concerts!

    Everett-Jul29511192822306.jpg

    The arena holds 90,000!!

    Schulmanator - Thanks Schul! 4.gif

ky72x - Thank you!! Glad you're noticing the realism in effect in Woodhale. Thank you and you aren't missing anything. 3.gif

DragonAnime - Yeah, here too, same suburban style. Thanks for commenting!

Dsrwhat316 - Ahh, I live on Long Island! I've noticed the Jersey suburbs and they inspire me to make these suburbs as well. Thanks for commenting! 4.gif

I really like the triangular design of the parks. It's good to have something besides a square, for a change. Although I strongly dislike the look of the same 3-4 cars in the parking lots, the fact that you have parking at all is great. Nice job on the newspaper! That show is going to be awesome! Saosin and Linkin Park rock! Keep up the awesome work Mike!
