What building is Crescent Publishing? I might consider it for metropolis.

Been awhile since I've been here. Things have gotten bigger but everything is as pretty as always. 4.gif

So.... What's that grey building in the foreground of the Grant Park picture? I must have it! 3.gif

It still looks pretty good Mike! The Maxis looks nice in Medford, and it's not too much either. That's a great residential block you have grown across from the main downtown; I like how the freeway separates the two areas. Keep up this excellent work!

In today's update we will look at one of Medford's greatest assets, the SimNation Cruises™ port!

Located on the banks of the Chipnall Bay, SimNation Cruises™ port is a major hub where tourists catch cruise ships to go tour tropical islands or vast seas. The two major ships that come through there are the Nina Caliente and the Dina Caliente. They have weekly schedules at many different ports around SimNation.

    Main entrance to cruise ships.

    THE NINA CALIENTE
    Length:
    882 feet
    Cabins: 3,432
    Decks:
Amenities: Two ondeck pools, tennis courts, running track, 3 dining halls, 2 dance halls, onboard casino, stadium seating lounge.

The Nina Caliente is a sistership of the Dina. It is the little sister, being 9 feet shorter than the Dina. The Nina Caliente is the more affordable of the two, and the ship often sees an average age group of 21-23. The cruise ship is popular among college students during spring break as well. One of the Nina's best assets is the food. On the ship's survey, 94% of the visitors thought the food was "above average".

    Coram-Medford-Jul.10111188217790.jpg

    THE DINA CALIENTE
    Length:
    891 feet
    Cabins: 3,210
    Decks: 9
Amenities: Three ondeck pools, tennis courts, running track, 2 dining halls, 2 dance halls, onboard casino, stadium seating lounge.

The Dina Caliente is the more spacious and luxurious of the two ships. With more space and less rooms, cabins are wider and more spacious than on the Nina. The Dina Caliente has an average guest age of 30-35. The ship also has many honeymooners onboard. The greatest asset of the ships is its service, design, and architecture. The lobby is well designed, very elaborate. The food is quite scrumptious as well!

    CRUISESHIP WELCOME PORT

    Coram-Medford-Jul.17111188217825.jpg
Here is the port right when you get off the boat. There are two circular administration buildings with one taller building that handles the administrative side of the port.

    Coram-Medford-Jul.20111188217845.jpg
Here is one of Medford's most prominent landmarks, Lady of the Port. This 23 story landmark soars over the Chipnall Bay and welcomes tourists and visitors into Port Medford. By night, the lady watches over the port.

    Coram-Medford-Aug.2111188217892.jpg
Here is where many tourists and visitors getting to the port land in, Medford Central Station. Trains are constantly sending people into the station, which is located directly in downtown.

That's all for today, hope you enjoyed! Comments are appreciated! 4.gif

Nice cruise port Mike! I like how there is some development close by to the port; it looks very realistic and blends in well. Good placement of the train ststion in downtown, keep it up! I can't wait for more.

How do you create such realistic looking city center's? Skyscrapers, large $$$ residential areas near the port on the coastline, most realistic city I've ever seen in my opinion.

Not meaning to be the criticisive type, but you had to have plopped some of those buildings right? And also, have you at nay point used demand ordinances, I don't how someone would get the demand that early in expansion, but you do have a great layout, I just want to know, because it's inspiring me to start something new dedicated to this work of art.

Very sorry for the triple post but please reply, which of the buildings in your cities do youplop, just the BAT's, or everything indluding maxis buildings, which I doubt. It's breathtakingly diverse, how do you get all different maxis buildings to grow? Again sorry for the triple post.

    The Coram-Medford Metro Area

    REPLIES!

granto93 - Thanks, and haha, the woman does have a bad hair day!

    zane900 - Thanks!

    penguin007 - Thanks!

The_Hutt - Thanks, come visit soon!

    sEAhAwk fAn121 - Thanks!

ky72x - Thanks, glad you like the development and the train station!

GlobalHaze - Well I kinda just do, lol. I make sure it looks realistic enough. I've plopped 75 or so percent of the BATs in the city. All of the Maxis buildings are grown, of course. What I do is bulldoze repeating buildings, and for me they keep alternation in effect. It really helps! Thanks for the comment!
