Hi all,

I have a simple relotting request. You know the curved avenue piece that comes with NAM?

f_avem_f678fc6.jpg

And you see that concrete texture to the left of it there? Could someone make a lot of that piece with that texture under it? Make sure it doesn't replace the default one.

Thanks in advance.

Planet Hollywood - movie themed restaurant (my favorite is the one in Orlando, the globe shaped building but I can't find pic right now, so any PH would be appreciated). Possibly as a landmark with jobs; or ploppable & growable.

Also, any entertainment places, arcade

& possibly a sports museum (not based on a real-life place, so any style museum building will work)

Thanks!

I have a BAT Request - The Penobscot Building (downtown Detroit)

2531111734_15d64cb374.jpg?v=0

Currently, it sits right inthe heart of Detroit's financial district & is the tallest stand alone structure in the state of Michigan (in number of floors). It is te central fiber optic hub for the city & many law firms, radio stations, and civic center occupy the skyscraper. The only other stand-alone building that's arguabley taller is Comerica Tower (Detroit One Center). From 1996 to 2007 it served as the world headquarters for Comerica Bank. Although it only has 43 floors, the individual floor height is taller than the Penobscot's.

Anyway, the Penobscot building was constructed dring Detroit's first renaissance, where several mid & high-rises went up from the 1900 - 1929. Some believe if it weren't for the great depression, downtown Detroit would have even more/taller skyscrapers & likely show some resemblance to midtown Manhattan. In fact, it even inspired the developers of the Empire State Building in NYC. It's architect, Wirt C. Rowland, also designed several other mid & high-rises in downtown Detroit's financial district, including the Buhl & Guardian buildings.

The Penobscot building (an art-deco structure) was completed in 1928 & named the tallest structure in the state of Mihcigan (surpassing the 38-story Book Tower also in downtown Detroit). However in 1977, the central Tower in the Renaissance Center (also know as the General Motors world headquarters) exceeded it with 73 stories.

There were actually 3 different buildings in downtown Detroit under the name "Penobscot". The original structure was demolished in 1911, and a 2nd Penobscot building sits on the same block as the 47-story Penobscot building, right around the corner (Congress & Griswold).

Hi again,

I have another request. You know the NAM pedmall tiles? Specifically the first one (center pole)? Could some make a lot like it, except around that center pole are several tables with chairs? And also with random people around the tables?

Thanks in advance. I hope someone can do this.

Hello. I'm quite new on the forums(my first post and i´m already asking for things... shame on me.43.gif), and i'm wondering if someone could do this for me. I don't think anyone has made something like this before. I saw it in a science magazine, which shows how people from the 40's and 50' imagined how the future (our present, i think) would be.

2q2j04k.jpg

This a futuristic floating airport. Is it possible making this maintainig its function as an airport? Also, if you look closer, you will se a kind of ferry, that takes passengers in and out of the complex. Is there any way to make work as a ferry too?

I couldn't find any more information about this artwork on the internet. The only thing i know is that it was made by Frank Tinsley, in 1952, as can be seen on the lower left corner. The magazine which i scaned didn't give any information as well. Well, that's about it.Hope someone can help me. And sorry for talking too much...9.gif

I've got a tiny teeny request. Could somebody more "intellectual" than myself please make a 2x1 lot containing Maxis' original Orange Point Suites (R$$$, Euro set) standing on white pavement? The building would slightly overhang the lot on both sides, but I actually want it that way, as I would like to combine those into "Unite d'Habitation". I even have a lot like that, but unfortunately, it comes up as a park whatever I do.

In case you can do that, please PM me - I'd gladly learn.

Hey, well im trieng to somewhat make a skyline of phoenix arizona.

But there are'nt many BATs that have Phoenix skyscrapers.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to create these buildings.

Please and thanks very much 4.gif

1-

Phoenix Chase tower

40 stories

1316501035_e833de1044_o.jpg

hxTallest1.jpg">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image hxTallest1.jpg

The Chase Tower (formerly known as Valley Bank Center and Bank One Center) in Phoenix, Arizona is the tallest building in the state of Arizona. Built in 1972, it is 483 feet (147 meters) tall. It was originally built for local financial heavyweight Valley National Bank, which Bank One acquired in 1994. Bank One merged with Chase in 2005, and the building was renamed in December 2005. It is 40 stories tall but the highest occupiable floor is the 38th, where the private Arizona Club Restaurant is located. There is no observation area in the Chase Tower.

Unlike many traditional skyscrapers with zero-setback retail/lobby space on the ground floor, access to the tower is through an underground restaurant/retail concourse set a comparatively large distance away from the bordering streets.

The building was designed by the prominent Los Angeles-based architectural firm Welton Becket and Associates (now Ellerbe Becket). Upon completion, the tower marked the beginning of a renewed investment in downtown Phoenix that would last for almost twenty years until the savings and loan crisis brought about the 1989 real estate crash. Located at 201 North Central Avenue, the tower was renovated in 2003 to accommodate 800 additional Bank One employees.

In March 2007, Chase Tower was sold for record $547.9 million, the highest price paid for an office building in the western United States.

2-

Us Bank Center

31 stories

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:US_Bank_Bldg.jpg

https://brenet.brephoenix.com/filecabinet/Property/008822/US%20Bank%20Center1.jpg

The US Bank Center is a highrise in Phoenix, Arizona. It is the second tallest building in the state of Arizona. Built in 1976, it is 407 feet (124 meters) tall. When it was built it served as the headquarters for The Arizona Bank. Bank of America then occupied the tower until 2000 when the Bank of America Tower was built at the Collier Center. In January, 2005, this tower was renamed U.S. Bank Center and underwent a modest renovation to reflect the building's newest and largest tenant. New ground-floor restaurants were added and the building was repainted. The new U.S. Bank signs were installed in February, 2005.

The building is designed in the International Style. Above the lobby sits a 7 level garage. The tower rises an additional 23 floors for a total of 31 above ground floors.

3-

viad Tower

24 stories

hxTallest5.jpg">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image hxTallest5.jpg

72663754_231c61013c.jpg

The Viad Tower is a highrise in Midtown Phoenix, Arizona also known as the Viad Corporate Center and formerly the Dial Tower. The tower was constructed in 1991 for the Dial company, which is why the building resembles a Dial soap bar. It rises 374 feet (114 meters), topping out at 24 floors.

It was designed in the modern style by HKS, Inc. Originally, the tower was supposed to have a twin, rotated 90 degrees from the current tower, but due to the Savings and Loan Crisis of the 1980's and 90's, the tower was dropped. Today, the Viad Tower stands as Phoenix's most prominent skyscrapers, being located next door to the Phoenix Art Museum, its large landscaped public park featuring many statues and fountians, and its visible location on Central Avenue between Downtown Phoenix and Midtown Phoenix. After its completion in 1991, the Viad Tower was the last major skyscraper to be constructed in Midtown.

4-

3300 North Central

27 stories

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:3300.jpg

http://www.emporis.com/en/il/im/?id=440893

3300 North Central Avenue (also known as 3300 Tower) is a high-rise located along Central Avenue in Uptown Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The tower rises 27 floors and 356 feet (109 m) in height.[1] Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, 3300 North Central Avenue was built in 1980.[2] Upon completion, it stood as the fourth-tallest building in Phoenix and the tallest building outside of Downtown Phoenix. Today, it stands as the 11th-tallest building in the city.

Like its next door neighbor, the Great American Tower, 3300 North is rotated 45 degrees from the street grid. It is, however, an eight sided building with a 45 degree angle cut into each of the four corners. The building is covered with reflective glass with the exception of the corners, the crown and the lobby, which expose the concrete construction. 3300 North was designed at a time when the architectural trend was shifting away from the International Style and towards Post Modernism and thus, has elements of both architectural styles.

There's two things I'd REALLY REALLY like, and I can't find either.

They're both water, which I know is a pain, but I think they're probably doable.

First, I want a "fishing port" of some type - something you build to provide "fishing" jobs. The idea is you use it to simulate small coastal communities that make a lot of their income from fishing.

Second is I want a small seaport - just like the in-game seaport but smaller, because the one now is way too big for a lot of things.

Some things i would really like to see on the STEX is: Stockholms Stadshus, "Stockholm City hall". On of the true landmarks of Stockholm, it is a massive brick building with three golden crowns on top of its tower. It is also has the eyes of the world on it once a year, since it is the place where the Nobelprize gala is held every year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_City_Hall Tampere Tuomiokirkko, "Tampere Cathedral". Not the biggest church but one of the most beautyful. By architect Lars Sonck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tampere_Cathedral And Euro-style old w2w buildings, but with modern neon signs, billboards and "TV-screens" on them.

I was looking in the ST Exchange and I love it, but I really need that 'perfect' building for an area. Then I realized that that perfect building is in my hometown. I was wondering if any of you skilled lot makers could tackle building Boston, Massachusetts' Custom House Tower. The clock doesn't have to work, as long as it's there. Please contact me if you can do it. PM me or something.
I can't thank all of you builders enough!

I hope i am in the right forum, but I was wondering if someone could make a few things for me. first I would like a sunken rail set, similar to this project: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=19941&v=1. I would like one like this, but it would only connect to one side of the sunken area. that way you could either use two and puth them next to each other to accomodate two rails in the sunken area, or you could use it if the rail is right up against the city boundary. It would also be nice to have a sunken frieght station of the same type.

In addition, I would really like a set of parks that could cover sunken highways and rails. it would be similar to this: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=14049. It would be nice to have a park and a plaza set. Thanks so much.

I'd like to see the brand new U.S. Bank Tower, located in Sacramento. It's a 123-meter tall, 25-floor midrise. Should be relatively simple as the building is basically a box except for the facade in the front.

I was curious about this a looooooong time ago but nothing ever came of it, so I thought I'd throw it out there again.

I'd like to see a new transition between road and avenue (transit-enabled lot?) to make it more visually appealing as well as more practical. In RL, a transition like the one we currently use would cause extreme slowdowns if not a massive increase in accidents. Effectively the area used is only 16 metres (one game tile) which is the same distance used as the width of a road. Look outside your house at the street and imagine road traffic having to merge within the distance of the thickness of the street! Anything faster than 5 km/h would be treacherous.

I'm thinking a decent distance would be around 100 metres, or typically one medium-sized city block. The closest measurement in-game would be 6 tiles. I'm not on my home computer but if memory serves correctly that's about the same distance used for the RHW-2 / RHW-4 transition, which is far more accurate.

If anyone decides to tackle this, thanks very much!

newtransition.jpg

Edit: The left image shows the transition of 2 tiles (32 m) but the actual space used by the merge is closer to one tile. Sorry for the confusion.
