Well, here I am testing IE7.  So far, so good, but I still like Firefox 2.0.

I've had IE7 for about a week already. I'm bugged about having to press ALT, for the toolbar to appear, but I do like the zoom feature--very cool!

I shall preempt arguments by saying this:

DO NOT USE THIS THREAD TO ARGUE ABOUT BROWSERS!

That being said, I shall go get some popcorn and watch the argument.

EDIT:I'm downloading it now, I'll test it out tomorrow. I wonder if it'll have the features the new Firefox has. Like the awesome in-line spell checker that, while it needs some improvement, just caught a spelling mistake.

Browsers and text editors and word processors are religious objects and there can be no arguing about them.  Everyone to his own taste.

It has been my personal experience (15+ years as a network support technician\administrator) that people tend to stick to (religiiously - lol) the brand they first used, wether it be MS Word\Excel, Lotus, Mac, Linux, Windows, or whatever.  That being said I must add that I have, as required by my job, installed\used many non-MS products as well as most MS products.  All in all, I much prefer the MS products.  I have used Lotus, Wordstar, Wordperfect, Famework, Netscape, AIX, and various Apple\Mac products.  Most of them sucked dead bunnes when compared next to MS products.  I am now using IE 7.  I like the tabs OK, and more since I found out how t force a new window to open and focus in the new tab.  I have no problems with having to press "Alt" to get the menu bar ro appear\disappear.  Not havng it there all the time gives me a little bit more screen real estate.

But then that's just my opinion . . . your mileage  may vary.

Aside from the task bar, top window bar and the file bar/address bar/bookmarks bar/tool bar uni-bar I have in firefox, it's almost as if it's in fullscreen mode. And I have the weather in the corner. It is 5degrees right now. FIVE! 9.gif

I don't mind IE7, it looks ok, but I find it is a bit slow on my computer compared to firefox and Im having problems with the option bar on the right. :/ I think it's a theme issue.

What I really know is that browser competition is starting to pick up.

I'm trying it out now. So far I'm not a fan. There are some things in slightly better places, but I don't like having to press Alt for the menu, and I don't like the overall appearance.

I also wish it had the in-line spell checker of Firefox 2.0. adlfk. Nope. Not there.

The zoom thing is cool, but I probably wouldn't use it for much.

Multiple homepages is cool, I might use that to bring up Simtropolis, NationStates, and my Personalized Google at the same time. Not enough to convert me, though.

I've gone back to Firefox.  I am just too comfortable in the old pew.  This old dog can do new tricks , but why bother?

    IE 6 > IE 7

But really, I used to hate Firefox

so many things didn't work with AvantBrowser which is IE

and the IE 7 beta, I just didn't like the placing of the address bar being above the tool bars and that I wasn't able to move them around...I got rid of it when I reformated for some other reason...

I still have IE 6, honestly though

    Firefox 2.0 > IE...

IE 7 gets on my nerves! Those beginning screens never go away (the ones that let you choose your options...the one's that say "check this box to never see this screen again"...). The browser will cut out, citing a "Flash error" when I'm not doing anything but browsing forums. It's so annoying! I used to never use Firefox because some of my favorite websites weren't compatible with it, but now it's IE 7 that's not compatible, so now it's Firefox that I use.
