@Schulmanator: Thanks for the award, I can't wait for the 200-page celebration!

========================================================

And finally a small poem about a large cat:

Her Majesty Admiral Hestorb the Big

(Well, actually the title "Admiral Hestorb the Pig" would fit more, but would not be considered appropriate because 2007 is the Year of the Boar, and will end in about 28 hours. Just superstitious...)

Admiral Hestorb is big,

She's really very fat.

Her stomach's on the floor,

And she can't get through and stop.

She eats and eats and eats,

She just never seems to stop.

And when we see her eat

Not one morsel does she drop!

danielmk1.jpgDaniel: Good... She's gone. Is the update here yet?

*Lauren Ahrns beams in, and then walks over to Daniel*

    danielmk1.jpgDaniel: What?

laurende9.jpg Lauren Ahrns: There is a part at the Moose Factory, and you have to come.

    danielmk1.jpgDaniel: Okay.

    *They both beam out*

It is starting to get confusing in here because everyone looks the same...

Merging of Real Life Archaeology and Schulmania

Part 1: Background Information & Artifact

There have been quite a few characters revealed in Schulmania thus far. Each has a real-life counterpart. All are familiar with the Supreme Wirdle and have seen her picture. All of the characters have family connections and thus form the ruling family of Schulmania. But, not all characters, in real life, are cats. Some are people. To solve this dilemma, in Schulmania, every member of the ruling family is a cat. The organizational chart shown below shows the relationships between the family members. The cats are arranged generationally based upon their date of birth, with a little rearranging periodically. Other family members will be introduced further into the story. For now, here is the official family tree.

    slide1sa9.jpg

Now, to explain the real life relationships. Francis & Flora are the parents of H. J. They predate the founding of Schulmania as a felinocracy. Princess Katherine and the Supreme Wirdle are listed as siblings, but, in real life, are only related by their having lived with us. Princess Shelby is listed as a child of Admiral Hestorb. In real life, they are also not related. But, the Admiral is 10 and Shelby is 3, so it makes sense to give them that relationship. Prince Excalibur is listed as the child of Katherine. In real life, they are non-related and about the same age. But, to flesh out the family tree, he has been assigned Generation 3. In real life, the non-cats in the chart above are Gov. Cawale, FCapt Splunt, FCapt von Bremerhaven, and Commissioner B. B. Bower.

Now, on to the focus of our update. The real life crossover relates to Prince Excalibur. He has a few mentions in Schulmania, but not many. He has a park named after him in Atkinos and has explored the Plains of Wirdleonia. He was with us only a short while in real life, having used up his nine lives running across the street. His most memorable episode was when he stole our lunches off of the table. An apple with puncture marks all over it and two shredded sandwiches on the floor. Then, my parents went to McDonald's for a replacement lunch for us. They set it on the table. Excalibur swoops in and runs off with a Big Mac in his mouth - and takes off down the hall. I gave chase and there he was, backed into a corner, growling and ready to put up a fight to keep his Big Mac. Hungry, wasn't he?! But, so short was he with us that I have yet to find any pictures of him to include in the storyline. He was around before digital cameras, so not as easy as getting a million Admiral Hestorb pictures is today. I may yet find one of him, but for now, I will use this one to give you an idea of how he looked.

So, how does Prince Excalibur link an artifact found in real life to Schulmania? Well, as I was back in the homeland, we were doing some tidying of the grounds and found something which had been displaced during the installation of a new ventilation system. The foundation of the external unit of the ventilation system apparently disturbed an old site adjacent to the house. What was found was a now broken marker for Prince Excalibur's final resting place.

We reassembled the 3 pieces for the photo. There are probably a few other fragments yet to be discovered.

We also found another concrete marker. But, we are not sure about its origins.

Perhaps you have suggestions as to what it says and it

    I have figured it out:

Had the second artifact been from 1940, the rock would likely have been more worn. It seems likely that it was 1970. HOWEVER, the idea of it being from 1940 is more appealing, so it MUST be that. If you notice a tiny spot in the '4' where the middle can be, it seems as though it is just a little overlapped. The last digit looks more like a 0, even though the top part isnt quite closed.

I think it says 1940, but I have to scan it to make sure.

    Oops... Wrong scan.

I'll try that again, this time with the correct scanner.

The scan says it is from the year 1937, so it must say 1940.  The 3 years difference is most likely due to impurities, most of which seem to be from around the year 1981.

So it would seem that Excaliber passed on in 1981...Hmmmm

Anyways, using advanced shape recognition software, XPsims Industries has determined that the date on the mysterious other rock is 1940. We fed the image into our computers, and here is what it came up with:

    archaeology1tq33.jpg

However, our systems drew a blank on the purpose of the handprint.....A mystery that XPsims Industries couldn't solve....

Also, our systems discovered a tiny, perfectly round hole on the bottom of the Rock! It seems to have been made by a drill...Hmmmm...Further Research is necessary...

    archaeology1tq34.jpg

    And so, the mystery deepens...

EDIT: My 1000th Post! An honor for it be in Schulmania on New Year's Eve!39.gif Happy New Year!

    ILPFA-logo.jpg

The International Literary and Poetic Foundation for Archaeology (ILPFA) has been studying your picture, and has found the following:

    1) First of all, a few questions were asked, which were partially answered in the next few pictures:

    archaeology1tq3.jpg

    2) Next, a few possible answers were brought forward:

    archaeology1tq4.jpg

    archaeology1tq5.jpg

Note from the organization: The red ink writing in the third picture was unexpectedly dulled out due to a conflict between the Organization and ancient Runic people. It hereby reads: "These carvings might be some form of runic writing."

(It was actually dulled out because I had to convert the pic from .png to .jpg format, but no one needs to know about it, after all no one can see this secret message!)
