As Schulmania now spans over 240 pages and has a slew of updates, newcomers may not be fully aware of the rich heritage of Schulmania. So, here's a brief guide of the essentials for any Schulmania fan. This is sort of a quickie annotated version of the table of contents, which remains the authoritative source for all things Schulminion.

Schulmericho, the ill-fated colony on the coast of Devonshire, was finally completed. The new town in Southern Devonshire, the largest in the district,  became the home of the first walled town in Schulmania and a prosperous port city. Monkey Power Mountain is the hub of activity in eastern Devonshire. The Lake George and Monkey Power Mountain areas are catalysts for the rapid expansion of Devonshire and its full annexation into Schulmania, shedding the "colony" moniker. The drive for additional resources and land for development is pushing Devonshire eastward - toward the hills - and the unknown.  Meanwhile, back in the ancestral homeland, towns continue to grow and prosper as the economy booms. Civic leaders encouraged development and upgrades in Gran Maru, Atkinos, Atkiniros, Wirt and other major towns. New businesses, such as Chicken King, sprout up all over the nation. A new resort, Risa Beach, was developed near Schulmanidad. The southern town also served as a launching point for excursions to the Plains of Wirdleonia further south. The first settlement in the new district, essentially a suburb of Schulmanidad, was South Schulmanidad. Proposals for development poured in as explorers moved more and more inland, they discovered many wild beasts, which they found to be most tasty. In that vicinity, a pair of new towns was constructed; one a hilltop agricultural village and the other a bustling trade outpost.

Notable expansion also happened in the east. The survivors of the lost Schulmericho Expedition were found on the island of New Atkinos. The barrier islands were tamed to allow for easy transit and a town was built on the site and placed under the administration of a humanoid council. Exploration began in the mountains of Devonshire, pushing the boundaries ever eastward. Eventually, a new, salty ocean was discovered at the eastern shore of Devonshire. Several outposts sprang up to serve the needs to trade and settlement. These of course grew into towns in their own right. Schulmania now faces two oceans – with more unknowns awaiting at either end of the map.

That's what I am hoping - it will help the newcomer get a feel for what's going on. I like to do these at intervals where there is going to be a change in Schulmania. And, a new era is indeed at hand. So, it's time for Vol. 3.

In the next issue of PhatHead's Cities Journal newspaper there will be an important and exclusive news update about the future of Schulmania. So, be looking for that.
