This is my new Subway map that I have made. It's a future version of the one previously posted.quote>

Nice map. Are you from Philadelphia? I've noticed a lot of Philadelphia-area names on your maps - Margaret, Race, Paoli, Malvern, etc.

Great new maps, everyone. Joe90, that map you posted is unbelievable - I'd love to see a bigger version...

The newest line on the Ellington Underground is the Forest park line. It consists of the established southern branch of the Riverside line and new tunnels heading north east from Park Street Station.

Here's a little something I made for my city. I may plan to make a CJ about it, but that's not the subject. I only made the A LINE for the moment

Here is a map of the region I'm working on, Dubuque, Iowa ... Not all is build but this map helps me for the networks, where to build what, etc...

The map is entirely done with Paintbrush, using the same graphism as the Yahoo Maps.

Great maps everyone. Mr. Beer, I really like your map, it looks really realistic!

Here are a few maps I made from my CJ - Fortune. I designed the maps to follow a similar style to Google Maps.

And here is the fictional geographic location of Fortune, again using a Google Maps/Google Earth type of design.

And here is a map of Canada/Fortune from a fictional atlas.

@ Mr Beer - very very nice. I'd love to see a larger version... the red for the highways/motorways looks great.

@ Selles - thanks for adding your maps - I still love the design of your highway shields a lot, very orginal.

Thanks Mr. Beer!

I used Photoshop to make my map. I actually have a tutorial in my CJ on how to make a Google Maps styled transit map.

I hope this is in the right topic!

First off I've been blown away by all your efforts! I love the googleesque maps going on. I have neither the skills in SimCity Building nor the patience in photoshop. Kudos to you all.

Anyway, I'm from the Isle of Wight in the UK and it is my ambition to one day become town planner for the Island. This map shows the metro routes which I would like to implement. Areas of current Urban Growth would have the tracks underground and the other areas would be above ground with future developments built around.

Anyway, this is my most current version of the map of the metro (which I have large plans for!). I would love to know what you all think. This is the closest forum I have found on the internet for people with this sort of hobby so...

If you read through the thread carefully, there are some discussions of how it's done and even a tutorial of sorts I believe. In general we are doing them in various image editing programs.

Using Duke87's Tube Map Kit in the NYC Subway, mapped out London style thread, I decided to try playing with the pieces in MS Paint using a octogon shaped city I had made.

This is the result (click for full resolution)

ashtonmetrofinishedwtexv.jpg

This was my first try doing something like this, so there's some imperfections, such as uneven text and poor labeling, but I'm fairly satisfied with the result. 1.gif

now i'm inspired. i always have a problem putting in highways and public transit, because usually i live very dense and grided areas so there is no room for a station. it's really annoying how much space and inconvinienve highways take up, but slowly i'm putting them in and adding expressways to them, also raillines which are so fun to make. HOW did you make the google looking things???
