    I was thinking of using the two Eartha buildings as Radio and TV rewards. Also, do whatever you feel is good about fixing their rather ugly entrance ways. I tried on the larger one (which gets the 'EarthaMayProceed' sign) but am not yet satisfied. The banner could go on the smaller one. Just whatever - I'm not attached.

    If you see something easy that you can do around the base of the iBot building to help it blend with the ground, it needs it. And if you feel the yellow tile is too bright feel free to substitute. I meant to make an 'iBot' sign, too.

    I need a volunteer! I have uploaded my small and medium Residentials to SMEX. Since none of them were working for me on their current lots I have only included the models. Would someone like to lot them and send them on to Andisart?

    Time - The yellow one is probably too bright for growing and will be a LM;  I'll do a similar one in a more subdued color scheme for CO$$$.  The other is probably a hotel.

    Perhaps I spoke to soon; maybe I should actually play the game and see if my lots are growing because they ARE. But they really need someone to lot them properly - I just don't take the time.

    In other work - the AntiZubrin Building and Eisac Apatos are residential:

    And a most frustrating structure - Sirius Business - needs someone to look at its texturing because I'm about whooped.

    great progress! these new residential BATs use the modular idea well!

    the tower, looks cool! the textures of the capsules are fine, I would apply a technical surface texture to the round core and holders. the base needs more details because atm it makes the tower look like a toy a bit, the right scale doesn

    Here's a growable 4x4 I-m - Mohr Beer.

    I did a Diagonal version but haven't lotted it yet. I would like to see it as a CO$$ Diagonal Plop w/ jobs. If anyone is interested in figuring out how that's done I saw a good tutorial on it. There's also a 2x1 CS$$ E's Cylinder Head and Fey Gala - a beer store and public smoking area. It's still in testing and I'm gonna shoot a prop sign - big blue 'E's'.

    Wow Tim! You are the only hope we have for Simmars BATs. lol. Well sooner or later Beta 3 might be in end of 2009 or this year.

    EDIT: Can you send some props and textures for BAT if you can? I plan to BAT agian after 6 months. Also, I want to try again and this I might open up a theard.

    It's a great start, Evillions. What does the factory make? It needs a few details on the roof, like a skylight or air vents, a little antenna. Maybe a stairway up to rooftop parking (flying cars!). Maybe a sign.

    I have the same problem with too many jobs. Someone will help us fix it before long.

    Tim the factory does make chemials and stores them for future use. I might make a larger one of this kind of factory as a bussiness deal. Like a toxic waste dump. Also, I will redo the factory's roof. And I need tips to make roofjunk. I'm terrible at making roof junk. And I don't want to use props. If you can show me where to get tips to making roofjunk for simmars. Then I might able to redo the factory then.

    EDIT: How do make those small buildings in Sirius Business? The ones that are sticking out. I might able to make a building of out those small buildings.

    I just figured out how to set the amount of jobs. Just go in the plug-in manger and click your BAT or plug-in. Go to hex settings or demand settings. Change it how many you want it to be and done. I checked when I was re-loting some lots. I could show you a picture soon if you want Tim.

    hi Evillions, sorry for getting back late. I agree with tim, good start but more work is needed for the BAT. At the moment it looks very "boxy", in the general shape and also particularly on the roof.

    So I suggest that you add some elements to the structure to break the "boxieness", and then also add some details on roof.

    There should be a link with roof stuff for gmax in the BAT guideline thread. Let me know if it is expired or if you need any further advise or help 4.gif

    Andisart I might recreate the lot and download the roof junk. Also I made a comples. But the only problem is that its not exporting like not as a plug-in. Could you export my complex and edited it if needed? Like I send you the BAT and you can edit whatever you want. Additionally, I getting an error when the export is finshed. So I'm asking you. What the problem with my BAT?

    What does the error message say?

    Would you post a picture of your GMAX scene - like right before you try to export? (Hide the LODs first!)

    Are you registered at the SimMars Exchange so you can upload files to us?

    Tim it says Error 12. I don't know what it means. I got that message after the BAT was done exporting.

    Error 12 is similar to error 6, except for zoom five rotation 2. Likely that there is a file sharing violation (makes sure simcty, plugin manager, and lot editor are not open), or your output file is read only, you are running out of memory, or a system error (bad registry, missing dll's, any OS error... I've had this one before a long time ago and windows update to xp fixed it).

    Likely it is you are out of memory since I'm assuming based off of the error you got one render done, but the next one wasn't able to be finished. Really not much could be done here except optimization of the scene.

    Try to make the object count as low as possible. It's better to have one object with a million polys than a million objects with one poly. It's a known problem with the file transcription process (even in the newest versions of the software and the most powerful rendering engines available, but the problem isn't as visible because there is a much higher "object" capacity before memory is out). There is a set limit to how much memory gmax can use, so getting more ram won't help unless you are currently working with less than 300mb or so RAM.

    You're right auto. Thanks. Now I have a different probelm. After I put my building on the lot editor. I did the plug-in manger thingy. The building is sliced off. Like part of my building is sliced off. Can anyone help me here?!

    Hey its me again. Ive been doing some Bats for simmars recently im busy with rl so its been going slowly.

    The main thing i have been working on is a big concept tower i resized the image so click on it to see it larger.

    Its basiclly a tower with a bunch of inset segments. I could remove sections if it seems to tall, and i still have soem detail to add to it.

    None of my stuff is textured until i finish the details, becsue the textures dont trnasfer over well from max, and max 09 doesnt seem to work with bat 4 max

    I should be done with theese soon, modeling ususally takes longer for me.

    If any of theese things arent simmarsish or whatever, just tell me and i can fix it.

    I have anther thing im working on, but i have a couple questions first.

    I am reusing the dome thing i made earlier and putting a observatory in the middle. I have it alomst done, but i cant figure out what to do for the dome. Normally, it would be able to open, but that cant be done on mars, so i have to figure out a way to make it work, but still be airtight.

    Hot! Hot! Hot! Gravity is low enough on Mars to make that sort of tower feasible. I am SO intimidated!

    I don't see a problem with the dome opening - the observer could be remotely located and any adjustments to the instrument could be done by robots. Otherwise, you might mount it like the turret of a tank, or do a ball and socket joint.

    I like the tree park but I think the lower section ought to have the same triangular panels as the dome instead of diamonds. I might also try a truncated cone instead of a cylinder there, and attach some sort of structure that faces into it - maybe it's part of a mall or cinema complex, very high wealth. Since you can do domes like that (I haven't figured that out yet), would you consider doing a cluster of intersecting domes kinda like the City in Logan's Run that we could maybe use for a golf course?

    Dang that first building is perfect for simmars! We need more skyscapers and such. Also with your dome, you should add some commerial and make it into a landmark. With jobs and park effect. This is called muti-functional.

    I got some inspiration from a cubic building and trying to LOT it but Andi, the prop links don't work. Can you fix it?

    Wow great! Tim, I know I have said this before, but that sphere on top of that cylindrical object is a little ugly 3.gif Try adding some more detail there like, vents? Railigns? Something to make it less bear.
