I'm still blown away by the quality of the images ...

I love the Western business district of Santa Eufrasia ... those buildings are just perfect along that waterfront.

Great use of the Highspeed trains too ... I love the picture of Western Santa Eufrasia where the rail heads off through the beautiful tree lined hills.

As for the huge pictures of the entire area, well almost the entire area... just awesome. I love the green belt that runs through the City, seperating the industry from the commercial areas...

Any chance we could see a Regional picture, to see how your City is growing?

Oh... congrats on being elected as SCJU President ...

Hey-

where did you get those "european style" roads? The Roads in my game are the traditional american double-yellow lined roads, how did you get the white dash? It looks much better.

Well now, a word from the author:

I am in the process of reviving this cj, I've had a very tough year but the hard times seem to be coming to an end. Casanares is dormant for now (not dead) but I will revive it very soon. I've completely rebuilt the main cities and have done some work on the rural areas. I'm hopeful that my next update will be shown in three weeks, or as soon as I have "cj material", since I'm a perfectionist everything must be up to scratch.

I will reply to all my comments when I get around to updating my cj, in the meantime, thanks to all 9.gif

i've been looking through this CJ, and i have to say it's spectacular! light-years away from anything i could do. it's great to hear you're going to start updating again. when you do, mitera (in my sig) would like to open diplomatic relations with casanares 1.gif

Don't worry guys, there will be an update when you list expect it. I might even start afresh on a new thread.

A bit of news, I have completely re-done every city and I'm about 85% close to posting a new update, which will certainly include a delayed Union Day celebratory update 2.gif

    Thanks for the comments guys!

cool - can't wait - I reckon you should start a new thread rather than resurrect an old one

it would be easier for new readers that way

    can't wait 4.gif

I have to admit that this is, by far, one of the best city journals that has appeared on Simtropolis.  I am not usually blunt or judgemental, but I could not stop admiring when I saw and read through the pages.  Other CJs that I feel are in the league with this are Gothia (Olympia [of course]), Sculpting Columbia River, Paris by EJC (one of the top three if ever completed), San Francisco by Mexicanboy, the Casa Grande CJ, and Klondike Delta.

There are many other CJ designers who I believe are going for personal best goals such as longest running, most surreal, etc.  They have great journals as well but I feel they are just below these classics.

Just keep doing what you are doing and you'll be a legend in this community (if not already).  Thank you for Casanares

Wow, I know this thread is incredibly old, and I have no idea if the guy who did this is still around, but I still have to comment on this, this is by far the most interesting and complex city I've seen among these CJs. I really like the governing district of the city, with all the governmental buildings. Very nice.
