Hey!

I've been waiting for this announcement for a long long time.

Glad to see it doesn't dissapoint! I absoutely love how you mixed the old style of builings with those modern buildings. Absoutely beautfiul when you mix them together! Also I really do like the avenues you had created there. I had always had those middle lot filler things but you have used it very very well! i'm glad to see this get off to a good start and I'm looking forward to more!

Tommy_Vercetti3: Thanks! there will be many more mosaics to come.

    Leech10: Thanks!5.gif

Fischbob: It is a wide avenue indeed, it is loosely based off of one in Buenos Aires (the largest and widest in the world I believe) It took a lot of time, plopping, growing, bulldozing and whatnot to create that look. They do blend well indeed! Thanks for your comment mate!2.gif

6U: That's pretty much what I set out to do, all my updates will include day and night pics, hopefully. Thanks for the tip, I didn't know about it (it's the noobness in me 24.gif) It's certainly come in handy! Thanks for commenting buddy!1.gif

Pepsi: Indeed, the day has finally come39.gif

ilikehotdogsalot: The break water is actually part of the Boulevard de la Soberania, it leads to a great monument which I hope will feature in a soon to come video. Thanks for your comment

jarnomiedema: Hey Jarno! thanks, it was a pretty sudden start, I hadn't realised that I had sufficient cj material so I decided to start the cj. It is a sneaky preview, there is much more to come including the storyline (which I haven't thought of yet34.gif) I'll start my wiki work today so you can get a better insight of Casanares. Cheers5.gif

SpecialEddie: Gracias, I set out to create a South American cj so it will have elements from all of South America, especially cities like Caracas, Rio and BA. You're right mate, The Boulevard is based on that fantastic monster avenue that BA has. Thanks for commenting4.gif

diablo_del_bano: Never been to New Orleans before but if you say it looks similar to Canal Street then you could be right, but I set out to create a Boulevard instead. Thanks for popping in!5.gif

collgab: Thanks, there will be a lot more to come!

Foxy: Thanks, as I said to Jarno it was quite a spontaneous start due to me not realising that I had enough material to start a cj, it turns out I had (mind you, I still have a lot of work to do14.gif) It's always nice to see my online family craddling me here as you say36.gif. Thanks for the comment on the boulevard, it took a lot of effort to get it to look nice, it was only a sneaky preview though, there is a lot to come. Next update will be posted tonight (I'll see if I can get a regional pic but the rest of the region is still very raw45.gif) Thanks for your great comment!2.gif

cityhawk: That was precisely my intention, I'm glad so many people spotted it!6.gif. Thanks!

Bodom: lol yeah BA is a great place to gain inspiration from, forget Paris when you have a replica of it double its size and in the middle of Latin America, what more could one ask for!5.gif

gurrgkud: Hey love your avatar man, looks like Mudvayne to me (awesome band btw) Thanks for your comment, it was just a sneaky preview, lots more on the way! 4.gif

Kumba: Hey buddy, lol pepsi said the same thing. whoa great I didn't dissapoint. It wasn't easy to get the avenue to look good, hence the long wait3.gif. Great comment, more to come soon.

Muzz: Hey muzz! Thanks, well yeah I just didn't want it to end up looking undercooked, lol that's why it took me so long to get it up to scratch. I'll be glad to show more of the city tonight. Thanks for the fantastic comment 1.gif

Everyone: Here's a link to the Avenue I got some inspiration from: Avenida 9 de Julio

Thanks for yor great comments everyone, update coming tonight.

    Update 2

    La Marina del Monte

High Wealth residential zone (Barrio Florin)

In this update I will be showing you the marina front of the city (The marina is actually built on a river bank, not on the sea front) This area is lined up with hotels and the Rio San Martin Conference Centre is also visible (The big blue building, by the car parks)

Welcome to Page 2 of Casanares!

I really like how you show Day and Night shots...not enough CJ's do that these days. I love the harbor, though some boats might have trouble weaving in and out of the harbor...but great job using those seawalls! They look so bright and colorful.

    Update 3

    Marina Front: the full picture

    Mass housing

La Cronica Alternativa: Casanares' highest circulation newspaper

    Marina Front, the full picture

visible is also part of Santa Eufrasia's vast downtown, or as many would say, one its many down towns

(Background) Las Atalayas Pre-Colombinas (Pre-Columbine Watchtowers)

these are a series of watchtowers used by the aboriginal indigenous population of pre-European times, they are connected by a series of underground tunnels used as catacombs (known as Las Catacumbas the Sacromonte) where sacrificial rituals took place. Today, Las Atalayas are a major tourist attraction. The Casanarean government has applied to the UN's Unesco branch to declare them a World Heritage Site. The whole mountain range used to be covered in them. Its soft rock allowed diggers to gain easy access "into" the mountain and connect the tunnels. Today only these ones survive.

    Mass Housing

Casanares has been governed by Socialist and Progressive governments for the past 46 years, and the results of their policies are visible in all aspects of society and daily life. The rich and poor enjoy equal status, so much so that they live alongside one another! The following mosaics will show just that.

(One of the best parts of town, Barrio Marina - Marina Residential Area)

Residential towers rise impressively over the mountain range which characterises Santa Eufrasia, the source of its clean air thanks to its vast rainforest which is heavily protected by government legislation.

And to end the update, here's the latest issue of La Cronica Alternativa Casanares' most popular newspaper. It is fully independent but enjoys a close business relationship with the government 43.gif
