Those are amazing graphics; I can see every little detail on that awful little ricemobile. You can see reflections on the tanker, the buildings have excellent texture and 3D detail, and you can even see the don't walk sign lit up. I have to wonder why that white Dodge Dakota has dualies, though, because those don't exist in the real world.

Dang, you're absolutely right, but it sure looks good. The great thing about virtual worlds is, you can have things that just don't exist in the real world 1.gif

Forum fanboyism leads nowhere, don't try it.

If PowerMac G5 costs $2000, you can see how the 2 cost -- They won't cost less than $400... The graphics are good, but gameplay style is another. If games are still redundant and boring, it won't help.

    Hmmm... costs.

I'd be suprised if the cost of a Xbox 360 or PS3 cost more than $400-500. They're saying a base 360 will be about $300, while bundled pack with other extras included will be higher.

Individual game cost is what I am not liking. $60 for a game? $50 is kind of high for me, but is acceptable. Maybe I'll stick to renting them.

That console is ugly. And the controller reminds me of the N64 controller.

I just didn't like the GameCube (other than a few great games). Virtually no online capabilities, and no other features. It just played games. I guess I'll wait and see what the Revolution is like before I bad mouth the console. But if Nintendo really wants to compete with MS and Sony, they are going to have to do things differently this time around.

As far as the new PS2 controller, I think it is extremely ungly. Maybe they will sell classic versions of a Dual Shock 3 contoller. The console looks ok, but the XBox 360 looks a hole lot better. I just read that the PS3 will support 7 wireless controllers. Why 7? No idea!

The PS3 looks to be a lot more powerfull than the XBox 360.
    XBox 360: 1 Terraflops!
    PS3: 2.18 Terraflops! Wow!

According to Gamespot, the XBox 360 will only use DL DVD's. What happened to HD-DVD's? Sony is using their Blue-Ray with a much larger capacity.

I guess the PS3 will have 2 HD outputs. Yeah, thats right, you can broadcast to 2 different HDTV's giving you a 32:9 aspect ratio. Talk about widescreen! It will also support a 1080i and 1080p. The p stands for progressive image. Basically, that means a much clearer image than an i which is an interlaced image. However, as of yet, few TVs support this. But that could change in the next 5 years.

Overall, both consoles look great, but right now, other than the crappy controller design, I am leaning towards the PS2. If it supports 32:9 aspect ratio, 2 1080p outputs, 7 controllers, and 2.5in HDD who knows whats next!

Buy the way, if you have a chance, download the killzone 2 trailer for the PS3. It looks simply amazing!

Same here. Thing about those shots is, comparing the ethernet ports on the back to the general size, this thing's HUGE. People called the Xbox a 'paving slab', the PS3 is the new space-age paving slab.

Anyway, it may be oogly, but it looks awesome. It's got 22.2GHz processing power, from what I read, and the graphics are better than 2 top of the range cards at the moment; in excess of $1000. Puts the question on price, eh?

Here's a little diagram, showing the ports available on the back of this monolith [the ethernet ports are a bit excessive, IMHO]:
    ps3screen0035mf.jpg

So yeah.. for me, it's Xbox 360, probably because of the online element. Has more to offer to me.

I must be the only one who thinks the PS3 looks nicer than the Xbox 360.

I agree the new controller looks kind of weird, but it seems to be very ergonomic. And I'd rather have a controller that is held nice than one that looks like a Rolls-Royce, no matter how expensive it is. 2.gif

Oh, and, hummer, that boomerang is the DualShock 3.

The Revolution has been announced.  At it is small:

    <ahttp://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2005/news/05/17/revo_screen003.jpg width=600 align=baseline>
I just hope they didn't sacrafice power.  According to Gamespot, it is predicted to only be 3x more powerful than the GC.  Certainly hope not, or bye bye Nintendo, unless this is justified by a much lower price than its competitors.  Nintendo hasn't announced the system specs yet, and if the above rumor is true, I'm not surprised.  I guess I'll be buying a PS3, and maybe an XBox 360 once the price comes down in a few years.

If what I am seeing form Killzone 2 and other titles is truely real time gameplay and not CG, I'll be getting a PS3. I know it is only the first day of E3, but the Xbox 360 is yet to impress me, while the PS3 has amazing tech demos and cool console design. I just don't care for PS controllers 34.gif

To me it looks like the 360 is too wrapped up in online services, which means absolutly nothing to me seeing as how I can't get broadband. Maybe I am speaking too soon, but it looks like the PS3 might be on my desk instead of the 360...
